dal - I have a belly belt I'm not using - you're welcome to it if you want to borrow it for the rest of the pg!

email me your address and I'll stick it in the post for you!

dal21 · 08/08/2007 18:04

EJT - that is such a kind offer! thank you so much! But belly belt or no belly belt, there aint no way I am getting into my fave pair of pre maternity skinny jeans! They were tight then and even though i have been good with my diet so far, will not fool myself into thinking am still as sylph like as i was then! I have nice extra padding round my thighs and hips! My lovely stretchy maternity jeans are doing the job fine thus far!

will let you know if i change my mind tho!

j20baby · 08/08/2007 18:09

ejt-lol @ superwoman! whats a belly belt?

still sat on couch feeling sorry for myself, have been looking at all the promo and sale threads, want to get a clock for my living room, going to make poached egg on toast for tea i think.

anyone had any cravings then?

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 08/08/2007 18:19

fizzy orange locozade atm re cravings. Not sure whether I should be drinking it!!!

dal21 · 08/08/2007 18:22

rock hard conference pears! go figure!

j20baby · 08/08/2007 18:23

what are cravings like? is it 'i'd kill to get it feeling'? didn't have none with dd and not had none this time yet, i've fancied stuff but don't think they're proper cravings!

OP posts:
dal21 · 08/08/2007 18:26

for me - something (like the pears) comes into your mind and you think, ooh i really fancy one of those. you have one and it really really really hits the spot and then you eat it for the next few weeks! Until the craving changes that is!
I am so funny - DH bought some pears and they werent hard enough so went out and bought some more. they have to be just right!

alicet · 08/08/2007 18:31

I just really fancy lots of milk. I like it anyway but never drink as much as I do at the mo. Was the same last time too. ALthough my BIG craving last time were jaffa cakes - could inhale a whole packet in about 10 seconds! Nothing else has really been such a massive thing this time. Really wanted angel delights a few weeks back but didn't end up eating many (found out the shop over the road didn't stock them - boo!) and nothing much since....

Anyway, off to beautify myself for my night out with the girls! Still feeling a bit rubbish and not that up for it but know I'll have a lovely time when I get there.... Hope the rest of you have a nice evening too...

j20baby · 08/08/2007 18:38

have a lovely evening alice

sat eating a packet of turkish delight because i'm too lazy to get up to make something proper to eat

ejt1764 · 08/08/2007 18:57

Hi j20 - a belly belt is one of these ... I bought a button one and a slide one for my last pg (when I mc), then tried it with this pg, but because placenta is low-lying and at the front, it was not the most comfortable!

lol at you eating turkish delight (also a bit [bleugh]!) give me a moment, I'm sure I can come up with an argument for it being a balanced meal ...

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/08/2007 19:01

Cravings mmmmm let me see.....

none although I am sitting here right now with a major need for a runny boiled egg with crusty bread mmmmmm

did go through a couple of weeks of drinking nothing but hot chocolate which is bizarre as I so don't like milk.

On another note had to go to dentist today because baby is stealing all my calcium as did ds1 and causing my teeth to crack and split. SO off I go for second appt and sit in chair, 2 injections dentist checks if i can feel anything...I SURE CAN, another 2 injections and he checks again... ARGHHHHH, another 2 and he checks again....nope can't feel anything so off he goes drilling the tooth to deal with it. He gets to the nerve and ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I can feel everything. So there I am laying in his chair with right side of face swollen, hurting and me shaking as I am petrified of dentists anyway and he says, "I can't do this as the injections are not strong enough. I can't give you the stronger one as it can bring baby on early. Make an appt for me to do the work after you have had him".

I get up shaking badly thankfully mummy was there with me. She phoned DP who was in bed sleeping (he works nights) and told him state i was in. So he came n got me.

Got home and just want to chill when my neighbour knocks and asks if i can look after her 5 yr old as she n b'f want to go out. Was going to do it but last time I had him I had to bath him and wash all his clothes as he stank of urine. She asked if he could stay night and I said no. Didn't tell her it is cos I have not got time to air and wash mattress after he has piddled it. He is 5 and wets every night. Mum is a hippy kids don't go to school, they have no discipline etc not what I can cope with tonight lol!!!!! so am now sitting in silence incase she knocks again hee hee.

j20baby · 08/08/2007 19:13

oooooh did wonder.

nearly eaten all my turkish delight, not even hungry just feeling a bit funny, like bored but can't move. if i could lay on my stomach i might look like this

Hi everyone

Can't keep up!

EJT, hope the day got better! It couldn't have got worse.

LadyES - did you end up babysitting?

Alicet - I'm in Newcastle too! I'll email EJT and maybe we can be text buddies. Enjoy your night out - bet you will enjoy it when you get there.

Been to see my friend with her 2 week old boy this afternoon - he's so cute. Really gorgeous with lots of dark hair, and he basically eats nonstop. Can't believe that in three months hopefully mine will be here too!

Take care all of you.

CH

LES - meant to say sorry about nightmare dentist trip and hope next time its not so painful....

J20 enjoy the turkish delight!

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/08/2007 19:29

CHN...No not ended up babysitting am sitting here quietly still incase she knocks lol. I know thats bad but i can't cope with her son.

FloriaTosca · 08/08/2007 19:30

Alice; I'm a milk-aholic too...particularly hot with a teaspoon or two of honey..mmmm. We have had to ask the milkman to deliver an extra 3 pints a week just for me! (and I dont drink it normaly because, sorry tmi, it creates too much mucus for effective singing)
Thanks for agreeing about the e-bayer...I was begining to think I was unreasonable...she got back to me today sayinghtey had been having trouble getting a big enough box (this from someone with a 1700 rating!)and didnt think the RM would take it so was going to have to contact DHL...Dh has offered an extra £10 towards postage.. once we have got it...

Ejt; I think I'm the only one of us in Lancashire so it doesnt matter who you pair me up with.

oops just seen the time...got to go bid for something else on ebay...I'll be back later

ChocolateHobnob · 08/08/2007 19:41

Well done LES - you can do without the added stress!

Alicet, I'm in Kingston Park. Where are you?

Floria - hope it comes! I only use ebay via DH's account, since I don't have an ebay account. I hadn't even thought of scouring it for baby stuff!

lisad123 · 08/08/2007 19:46

Hi all

Havent had a chance to read what you have all been writing this afternoon but will try and catch up later tonight.

Just wanted to pop in and say how it went today. Scans seem ok although she has dropped slightly off the line their not too worried.
However, extra testing I asked for last week showed I have something call Protein S Deficancy, which affects blood clotting. he also said its sometime like sticky blood!

I have come home after 3 hours wait at hospital with my drugs, which i have to inject daily into my tum Im terrifed of needles to not the best idea. the midwife is coming to show me how to do it tomorrow, so fingers crossed. I have to do it every day till LO comes and then 6 weeks after. Also might impact on my birthing plans of a section, but will discuss with my own consultant in 2 weeks.

Feel really funny about it, and very scarced. My sister was with me too and is now on the same treatment, so atleast I can chat to her about it

Will catch up later

Hugs to all that need them

lisa

FloriaTosca · 08/08/2007 19:58

Tarnation!!!! Got out bid in the last 3 secs!...it was a huge bundle of unisex baby clothes that looked really good and would have got me started off really well..oh well..I'm sure more will come along.

Lisa glad all is relatively ok..dont worry about the injections into the tum, they are a doddle...I've been doing daily Heparin injections into my tum since I was 5 weeks pg (31+5 today)...just make sure you find a bit of loose flesh to pop it into, where the skin is taught it can be a bit more sore. And do it into a different quarter of your tum each day so no one section is getting jabbed more than twice a week.

Got to go collect Dh from badminton now... I'll try to pop in later..if he's not complaining about being a computer widower again

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/08/2007 20:28

I haven't scoured ebay for agessssssssssss since I discovered Freecycle. Collected another 2 bags of baby boys clothes the other day, at this rate LO won't need anything bought lol

kiansmum · 08/08/2007 21:56

Hi ladies,
Hope everyone's ok.

Lisa- Hope your injections go ok. I too have to do them. They're awful but you get used to them and be prepared for the bruising on the side of your tummy, it looks terrible!!
I was reading that you said you tested protein S deficient, me too. My consultant in my last pregnancy had my blood tested and that was when it showed up. However, they didn't test me post pregnancy.
This pregnancy i have got a different consultant who didn't know much about protein S deficiency so he wrote to a Haematologist for advice. We were then told that any normal pregnant woman who was tested for protein S deficiency would be found to have it as the levels fluctuate so much. It might be worth asking your consultant about this. If you do please let me know what he says as i am soooo confused!!!
I hope you could understand all that, sorry to ramble on.

Inzi-@ your gd gp, incompetent git! at least you know now.

hope you can sleep more easy tonight x

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 09/08/2007 07:52

Good morning!!

Awful nights sleeps as couldn't stop coughing. Dh slept in the spare room so at least he got some sleep

I am soooooo uncomfortable. Last night I just felt so enormous what with this cough I felt I could hardly breath. I am really counting down now as hot weather starting to kick in too but at least it's not been all the summer!

Inzi - glad to hear they know what has caused the bleed even though they don't know where from. I always check our prescriptions with my bf's hubbie who is a pharmacist. He's the one who told me that 12 months worth of AD's without seeing the dr again was wrong and when I had side effects he told me to go back. If Ollie is not well I always check with him first. No disrespect to drs (and you Alice!) but pharmacists get a lot more training re drugs/medication.

Well ds is at nursery today and I have the 'floor' man coming round to measure up. We need new flooring in the kitchen, hall, utility and downstairs loo. We also need a new carpet in the bathroom as Ollie got up to early one morning and had great fun with the blue food colouring and so it's now all over the carpet. Then dh tried to vax it out and it looks like someone has tried to paint the carpet blue. I don't really like carpet in the bathroom but we are going to jig about with it the year after next and until then I just want a cheap/clean floor to put the new baby on.
The bottom stairs carpet is manky too but we'll have to wait for that.

MIL phoned dh last night to ask if we wanted a marrow?? (They live in Manchester and we're in Swindon??) I find it so hard to even think of that woman with any real perspective... I said to dh why has she asked that? He just said because she isn't normal and can't just ring for a chat!!!
He's asked them to come and visit next weekend which I'm not happy about but they are his parents I suppose...

Re the email text buddy thing I'm in Swindon but I'm happy to be buddied with anyone really. Anyone in London area?

Have a good day all, speak later
