Also meant to say ...

last call for email / text buddies!

I have details for:
inzi
dal21
j20baby
floria tosca
buffythenappyslayer
TheLadyEvenstar
Alicet
(and me of course!)

Have been a bit cr@p, and not taken note of where people said they live - and now, the only ones I can find are alice's (Newcastle), and Floria tosca's (Lancashire)!
Can I ask a huge favour, and can you email me direct to give me your location? Thanks!

Muppetgirl and chocolatehobnob - although you've said you were going to email me, I haven't had anything as yet ....

So, for anybody else who wants to put their name on the email / text buddies list, email me at: eirian dot thomas at gmail dot com ... I'll compile the list tomorrow!

Now, really off to get dressed!

MrsFish · 13/08/2007 09:40

2nd email sent to you Ejt

ChocolateHobnob · 13/08/2007 10:04

Hi EJT,

I've emailed you with my mobile and location. Thanks!

dal21 · 13/08/2007 10:19

Hi everyone!

No chance of catching up with everyones goings ons over the weekend as i was away myself. Had a lovely weekend catching up with family and resting lots.

J20 - great to see your floor is finished! Is that the DIY done with?

Interesting to see that everyone else is getting thirsty. I am drinking tons of water and my skin is so unbelievably dry, am having to put loads more body oil etc on. Think our LO's must be taking it all!

Anyways, I hope everyone is ok and taking it easy. Catch up soon (EJT - will mail you location too!)

nellieloula · 13/08/2007 11:40

morning all - can't possible catch up either but glad everyone seems ok. LES, I know how you feel - my DH is away most of the time and it is tough (but there are positives too - bigger bed, not as much mess, my choice of tv etc etc etc - although most of the time I would just rather he was here to help me out with DS!)Try not to worry - hard though I know.

Mrs fish, yes def carrying lower (apparently they engage quicker) and feel full term. Did I mention they are keeping a close eye on me now cause where I should have up to 10 cm growth space, I only have 2 or 3 and 10 weeks to go.....interesting. Does anyone know what they'd do if they think it gets too big? Do they go and get them out despite being early?? Very uncomfortable.

had a rubbish morning when I walked into town to take lots of things back - to find that I had left all the receipts on a pile on the table and no-one would give me credit vouchers....not at all annoying in this state hope everyone has a good afternoon.

FloriaTosca · 13/08/2007 11:42

Hi I'm back...it seems St marys is short on midwives because my consultant did all my usual tests, bp, urine, doppler etc! BP up just a little and urine showing +1 glucose again so I've got a GTT booked for Weds ...texted DH with the news and he now thinks it his duty as a responsible husband and father to eat all the icecream, biscuits and chocolate in the house to keep us safe!

WinnieThePooh · 13/08/2007 12:11

EJT did you not get my email.

I will resend it now.

WinnieThePooh · 13/08/2007 12:18

Morning Everyone

I am feeling a bit down today. Lauren got back from my parents about 4pm yesterday. I had lots of cuddles as did the bump and she was in bed for 8pm. She came into the our bedroom at 7.15am today and by 8.30am she was on her way to Devon with Richard's parents. She won't be beck until Thursday at least. I missed her last week and thought that she may want to stay home this week and go to Devon next week as originally planned. The reason they have gone this week is a friend of my SIL is there with her 2 daughters until Wedsnesday and SIL has taken the time off work to go to the beach with them (weather permitting). As soon as they left I burst into tears and just can't stop crying. Richard is working locally today and asked it I wanted to go with him. I took him up on the offer and had some retail therapy. Got a new top & tail bowl for the baby and a raincover for the travel system as my old one was rather worse for wear. I was fine while I was in town, but crying again now I have come home to her empty bedrooom..

I know she will have awonderful time, but can't help missing her.

Sorry for such a self indulgent post.

I hope everyone else is well. Sorry for not replying to you all individually, but there are just too many posts for me to catch up on.

Hello again all. Not sure if you'll remember me - it's been ages since I've been around. The last few weeks of the school term were manic and then we went away for the week and of course having my dd's home has been time consuming so I'm sorry for neglecting you all.
I hope everyone is feeling well and all the bumps are progressing nicely. Just found out I have low ferritin levels so I need to start taking iron but otherwise I'm well, although I've started to get a bit of pelvic pain again. Hopefully it won't turn out to be more than the odd twinge but I needed physio and painkillers in both my other pregnancies so we shall see....

Pheebe · 13/08/2007 13:16

Afternoon all

Getting excited now, off to the airport in less than an hour to collect DH...must remember to collect DS and Nanny first though

{{{{Winnie}}}} I can't imagine letting DS go off on his own although I know its going to happen one day...

Bump wise, I'm much bigger higher up with this one. Still barely feel pregnant below the belly button until I feel him wriggle and squirm. I think it might be because DS1 was exceptionally low hroughout so I'm all stretched and baggy inside and out down there...nice... Still getting lots of tightenings, painful ones that keep stopping me in my tracks.

O yes, come on ladies, admit it, how many of us now have the dreaded piles!!! Amazingly I didn't have any with DS1. Any tips on how to cope beyond the gallons of water and loads of fruit n veg?

And on that lovely note, I'll disappear and get a bit more work done before I go for DH...wuhuuu as DS keeps saying

phee xx

Well thought I?d be safe leaving it over the weekend to be in touch since there isn?t usually as much chat then! Will try my best to catch up ? dh and I go away tomorrow so probably won?t be back online until after then?.

Lisa ? sorry you had such a terrible experience with that registrar last time. Hopefully the consultant will treat you more sensitively this time! As far as section dates go I was told by my consultant that 39 weeks was the earliest they would plan an elective section since there is a small but definite increase in the risks of breathing problems at birth before then. Ds was born at 38+6 last time. I guess you?d need to discuss your concerns with your consultant to see if they would move on this at all for you?.
Hope you have a lovely break too.

Chochobnob ? I was super careful about how I sat last time and ds was still op! So personally not sure how much difference it makes! I think the birthing balls are good although I never found them that comfy. This time round I just make sure I am comfortable! I am also short at 5ft!
Enjoy your night away!
Try not to be too scared by the chat at your antenatal classes either. I remember how you are feeling though ? I was similar with ds! At the end of the day though what will happen will happen and the best thing you can do is to keep an open mind as to your birh plan and think through how you will cope with all possible eventualities. And whatever happens its worth it when you meet your lo.

Muppet ? no more to add about cough and waterworks think what you?ve been told already is spot on. Hope your doc can help too?

MrsFish ? I have been getting the odd bout of cramp too ? thankfully not that often and settles pretty quick. No fun though!
I am DEFINITELY carrying a lot lower this time too. By this point last time ds was right up under my ribs yet theres a good 10cm or so to go this time? My mw said that basically your tummy muscles holds them in a lot better the first time round before they have been stretched to f*ck by being pregnant (OK these are my words not hers!!) but second time round they are not as good at that hence lo sitting lower.

Nellie ? glad to hear your hospital trip was so positive. Think that makes a big difference to how you feel about the birth!
Can relate to your trip to town and leaving all you needed at home though! Keep doing dizzy things like this at the mo!!! That?s baby brain for you I guess!

J20 ? sorry to hear your bro and his mate have been so useless but glad your mum came to help and you got it all finished.

LES ? sorry to hear you sounding down about your dh being away. I struggle with this too although thankfully he?s rarely away for more than a night at time. Thinking of you and others who are in this situation at the mo! Think Floria and Pheebe in the same boat ? big hugs to all 3 of you
And although the thought of a night away in a nice hotel is appealing to those who don?t have to do it for work (I associate it with a rest and a treat!) its not like that when its for work. So sure he is struggling with being apart just as much as you!

Ejt ? sounds like you have a busy day planned! Enjoy! And the blackberry muffins have me salivating!

Winnie ? big big hugs to you. I can understand you missing your dd but try and enjoy the free time you have to pamper yourself a bit. Not much chance for that in a few weeks! We miss ds when we?re apart from him and spend the whole time he?s away talking about how lovely he is and how much we miss him! But still manage to enjoy ourselves. It is hard though and you can?t help how you feel?. It will go quickly though hon. Thinking of you?.

Inzi ? sorry to hear about your fight with dh. Hopefully all sorted now ? sometimes you just need a bit of space to put things in perspective so sure the night at your sister?s helped.

Karlou ? of course you?re not forgotten! Glad to hear you sounding well although pelvic pain doesn?t sound like fun.

Well as for me ? I have been getting increasing problems with sciatica. No fun at all. It?s a bit erratic ? has been coming on my right side off and on for a couple of weeks but seems a lot worse the last couple of days. No fun at all! Not actually painful (apart from the odd shooting pain) but really uncomfortable. Any tips?

Having a lovely time with Mum and Dad though ? lots of lie ins, great food and pampering! And off away tomorrow which should be fun? Also found out today that my sis is expecting!!! Very early days ? about 5 weeks. And some mixed feelings as she lives in New Zealand so not really sure how I?ll be able to go and see her and lo. But will find a way.

Anyway ? better head off now as this is probably going to win the longest post ever award and you have probably all gone to sleep by now! Be back in a couple of days?. Thinking of you all! x

alicet · 13/08/2007 13:31

Pheebe - cross posted. Thankfully don't think I have been afflicted with piles yet and keeping my fingers crossed!! Making sure you keep your bowels soft and regular will help a bit - drink lots of water and eat lots of fibre basically! Good luck!

muppetgirl · 13/08/2007 13:32

HI all,

Just got back from monitoring at the hsopital!!

My blood pressure was 92/50 this morning and my pulse was 112 so they sent me up the hospital to check all was well. I was monitired for 1/2 hr adn then had bloods done. The did my blood pressure again adn it was normal -how weird is that? Lo was moving all the time so he's okay!
Ollie had the morning with a neighbour and her children and didn't want to come home
but I think he's forgiven me now

I asked the mw if she had my past labour notes and she said yes so I was cheeky and asked her why I had a ventouse with ds1 and she told me it was because ds1 was getting distressed... I never knew that! I will be definately asking more questions this time round!!

Off to take ds1 out for sausages and mash as he was very well behaved in the drs and well behaved when he went to neighbours instead of swimming.

See you all later
will email my details later ejt

dal21 · 13/08/2007 14:29

Hello again

FT -good luck on your GTT test, fingers crossed.

Winnie - sorry you are feeling teary and down. Use the time to get a little you time and pamper yourself. Am sure she is missing her mummy lots too and will be back before you know it!

Inzi - sorry to hear about you and DH. Think as the due date nears, everything can get a little more fraught - for both of you. And things can get said that arent intentional or even meant. Hope everything is ok now.

Nellie - LOL at your receipts. I did that the other week - I swear, if something is not written on a list right now, it totally goes out of my head!

Hello Karlou!

Alicet have a fab break away.

Muppet - glad your monitoring went well! What a relief!

Pheebe - re the piles, never say never but no piles yet. as I said earlier though, my water consumption is ridiculous! Am hoping that that will help to keep them at bay!

Sorry if I have missed someone off from above. Have a check up tomorrow (am hoping LO isnt breech anymore!)

WinnieThePooh · 13/08/2007 14:54

Thanks everyone.

Feeling abit better now. DP said he would pay for some papmering for my birthday last month. I just needed to book it up. Had booked it for Monday next week, as I thought DD would be away then, Have called them today and rearranged it for Wednesday. I am looking forward to having a revitalising facial, Scalp massage and Half leg wax. I am also going to the bingo with a friend in the evening.

FloriaTosca · 13/08/2007 14:57

Sorry you had a scare but glad all is ok Mupppet...what did the doc say about the water works?

Pheebe, I have been lucky so far and haven't got any piles yet but I'm told pelvic floor excersises help along with what you already know about diet and exercise keeping you regular...but they go after birth don't they? so you shouldn't have to suffer for too long.

Winnie (hugs)...if it is any consolation it doesnt take anthing like as much as a dd going away to make me cry at the moment...I even had to stop watching the info-mercials in the antenatal waiting room today because they were setting me off!!!!

J20 glad your Mum finally rallied round and got the floor done. brothers!

Karlou; good to hear from you again.

Inzi; at your DH...mine knows to tread on eggshells when there has been recent upset in my family... and after the week you have had I would have thought yours would have been careful to do so too. Sorry it escalated to such a pitch, you can put part of the blame on the hormones! Sincerely hope all is well now.

Alice; glad you are having such a good time and hope the rest of the holiday is just as wonderful....congratulataions on being an expectant auntie! I'm told the easiest time to do long haul flights is before babies are mobile Sympathy with the sciatica... mine is getting worse, despite swimming and walking to try to keep the muscles strong and a pillow between my knees to sleep with..if you hear of anything else that helps please pass it on!

EJT sounds like you have had a fab time too. Long may it continue. (Sympathy to your poor dh flogging himself over the decorating and his Mum!)

Got to go to work now Have a good afternoon all!

muppetgirl · 13/08/2007 15:23

Floria- They asked if I was doing my pelvic floors and I said no she said, well, you will be now or it's tena lady for you!!

I think she was more concerned that it wasn't fluid rather than urine -how would I know?- I said I thought it was urine. They can't give me anything, just keep drinking, go to the loo very frequently even if I don't think I need to.

This took the place of my mw app tomorrow as they said I didn't need to see her as I'd seen them.

muppetgirl · 13/08/2007 15:24

Have to say all, piles don't always go after birth

I've heard honey can get rid of them though so will be researching that!

lol inzi!

I can just imagine someone rubbing honey into the 'area' and wondering why it wasn't working!!

ejt1764 · 13/08/2007 16:10

aaaagh! how can this be? We need a new thread!!

Ideas for titles anybody?

Have been to see midwife - madam bean has now wriggled from transverse to breech - but is now measuring right on the dot ... midwife not really concerned - her very words - you've still got plenty of room in there for her to move!I told her I've also got the acupuncturist on standby for if she carries on being breech!

Also made a nice change to meet a midwife (my named midwife has changed - which is good, as I had no faith in the other one after the c0ck up with the physio referral!) who didn't bat an eyelid about my having a vbac - or about me labouring in water - made such a difference!

Dentist was also fine!

Now going to veg with ds on the sofa!

take care all!

ejt1764 · 13/08/2007 16:11

oh, and as for piles, I don't have them ... but if I heard that honey was good for them, I'd be the one smearing it on the area too !

muppetgirl · 13/08/2007 16:33

Have just sent you the email ejt!

unicorn · 13/08/2007 16:46

Hi all,
Are any of you pramaholics?
Can explain what is so special about bugaboos/ quinnys - and why do they keep coming up for sale?

I am completely at a loss about prams/buggies - so any advice more than welcome.
