Evening everyone.

Inzi - sorry to hear about your grandfather. I hope he gets his oop soon.

We have been very busy here today. Mum & DD set off for Scotland at 9pm today and DP and I started moving furniture around in her bedroom and playroom. She now has a "big girl's" bed and the little toddler bed is being used for her teddies and dollies in her playroom. DP moved the IKEA racking from the baby's room into her playroom and we have got some clear platic tubs fom wilko's to put her stuff in on them. DP's parents arrived about 10am to help with al the moving about.

The bed from the nursery has bee moved up to my office and the wardrobe from our dressing room are now in the nursery with our winter coats in one of them and the rail set low in the other one for baby's clothes. The cupboard has been moved from DD's room and will be made into the changing table when we find the fittings for it. (we made need to buy a new changing table top for it)

Tomorrow I am going to be busy sorting out the drawers in our bedroom as furniture in there is falling to bits and my inlaws are going to let us have te resat of the pine furniture, so I need to get the other stuff emptied to make way for it.

I have also been very busy with washing today. Mum stripped her bed for me and that went on about 8.30qm thismorning, the next load was the bedding from DD's big girls bed, then 1 load of nappies, 1 of wraps and then 2 more loads of terry squares and muslins. I intend to get all the baby clothes washed this week as well. Thank goodness it has been really warm here today or I would have never have got it all dried.

Have just had a bath and am off to bed soon. I may be on tomorrow night, but not sure yet.

Take care all and have a good week if I don't get time to post again.

WinnieThePooh · 05/08/2007 22:13

Just realisied it was 9 AM that they set off today.

I am so tired, my brain is not working right now.

FloriaTosca · 05/08/2007 22:47

Inzi; sorry your grandad hasnt been treated fully yet...but you can take comfort in that if he was in truly serious danger they would have emergency scanned and operated already instead of waiting for the weekend to be over. I hope the scan for you goes well tomorrow and they get your grandad treated soon.
Sympathy to all those who are suffering from the heat..it was only bad for us last night and today and that was quite enough for me!
Winnie, goodness you have been busy! Do you want to come and do mine when you have finished?
Personally I spent the morning with ils walking the dog round one of their old haunts in Clitheroe..it is only when we were half way round that mil announced that she had walked round there the day before going into premature labour with sil, and that fils aunt had done the same the day before giving birth to his cousin!!! Great!!!
If I'm not on here tomorrow you know what has happened!!!
Hope we all get more comfortable nights tonight and those who are feeling sick feel better

WinnieThePooh · 05/08/2007 22:54

No thanks FT. We are shattered as it is.

WE decided to make the most of DD being away and DP is busy with work all this week. His parents are going to my parents on Thursday and spending a few days there before bring DD back with them on Sunday. She will be at home until Saturday and then they are going to take her to Devon to see her auntie who is also pregnant(due 7 weeks after me)until the Wednesday. They were going to go Sunday to Thursday, but have received an invitaion today to a birthday party on the Thursday.

PolarMummy · 05/08/2007 23:02

Hello everyone, there is no way that I can possibly catch up with everyone as DH and I have been away for just over a week with NO Internet access. Been thinking about you all and had a quick skim read as soon as I came home as I was wondering how Buffy was (glad to hear LO has stayed put, long may it continue) and also wondered how things had gone for FT (so delighted for you that your DH changed his mind, and whatever may be, you will be able to cope and if your LO does have special needs then although some of your family are not 100% behind your decision I am sure they will feel differently when they actually meet)

Sorry I haven't managed to catch up with the rest of you hope you are all keeping well and that the aches and pains aren't too bad.

I had a dream the other night that our baby had already been born, we had a little girl, best bit was I wasn't actually at the birth (the wonders of modern medicine eh) although she was early she was absolutely fine and when I woke up in the morning I was really disappointed that it had been a dream and that our baby hadn't been born. Couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment all day!

TheLadyEvenstar · 05/08/2007 23:13

Hi All,

Winnie you have been busy lol Can see the sense in making most of dd being away and getting it all done.

Inzi, Really hope Grandad gets help he needs soon...

Today I was up at 7, went out at 8.15 with dp, ds, and mum....drove to swallows farm near southend to look at fisheys, then onto southend where i lasted a whole hour tops..heat was too much for me and I had to go back to car, so we drove to Basildon to collect 2 bags of baby boy clothes 0-9 months...LO will not need anything for first yr lol. Got home about 5.30 and at 6.30 went to lay on the bed as I was still so hot...I woke up at almost 9 uh oh.

Dp had also fallen asleep after driving 170 miles lol and DS was an angel, sat in living room watched a film, read a book, made his dinner....god what a bad mummy i am!!!

Now feet are still pounding but a bit cooler. And i am taking this hefty body off to bed in a minute. x

muppetgirl · 06/08/2007 07:58

Hi all!

Busy busy weekends you all had!

I had a bit of a scare on sat as during breakfast I had a few pains which once I'd showered turned into quite nasty pains 1/2 hour later so much dh went to the tip and I was sat on the sofa wrapped in a towel with my clothes in front of me and I was still there hen he got back! The pains were on top of bump going down the right side down to my groin. I could only shallow breath and coughing was the most painful thing ever. Managed to get dressed with dh help and then wanted to try and walk it off so we went out. Things were soooo uncomfortable in the car but once we'd got to where we were goign it wore off about 1/2 hour later. Weird. SO it lasted about 2 hrs and hasn't been back since.

Lo is still doing backflips so that was really my main worry. No reduced movements and all is fine now. But will teel consultant when we see him tomorrow for growth debate.

Sun dh took ds swimming and met up with neighbours who invited us to bar-be-que so that's what we did in the afternoon/evening.

Is very hot here so I think I'm going to fill paddling pool up so ds can play and I'll sit and crotchet all day as too bloomin' hot to do much else!

Inzi- I hope your Grandad gets his transfusion soon.

lisad123 · 06/08/2007 08:39

arggghh tooo hot!

I could barely sleep last night, even with windows open and fan on. Any hints?? Im knackered.
L

Pheebe · 06/08/2007 08:40

Morning muppet

I had something very very similar a couple of weeks ago. My pains started under my right ribs and went across the top of my bump. Took my breath away and last 4 hours first time. Seemed to come and go a bit like contractions and I was also worried it might be gallstones again so went to the FMAU to be checked and they ruled that out and said it was probably ligament pains. Had it a couple of times since but not nearly so bad and nothing in the last week.

Since then have learned its quite common at our stage of pregnancy as bub is having major grwoth spurts and takes a bit for our bodies to adjust to the extra weight.

phee

Pheebe · 06/08/2007 08:44

Morning Lisa

Try leaving bedroom windows and curtain closed all day, stops the sun warming things up in there. Then when you go to bed open your window a little and put the fan in front of it (facing into the room) with the door open, this should bring in the cooler night air rather than just recirculating the hot air.

When I was pg with DS1 DH bought me an aircon unit bless him. Cost about £100 then (sure they're cheaper now) but was worth every penny. I put it on about an hour before bedtime and it just took the heat off enough to let me get to sleep.

Hope that helps, its miserable at the mo, but lovely to be out in the garden in the day

muppetgirl · 06/08/2007 08:52

Morning Pheebe (and Lisa!)

Thanks for that, I thought it was contractions too as they were quite regular but very frequent...
I never had anything like this with ds1 but was very scarey

I though maybe he was growing again as I really am starting to feel humugus now and that everything is an effort.

Sorry Lisa, the only thing I can think to help is a friend of mine closes her dc's windows and shuts the curtains around 4 ish and then turns on the air con unit so when they go to bed the room is cold and it means they can get to sleep. We are thinking about this for our ds has he is at the top of the house and is sooo sweatily hot up there. WE can't have his windows open at all as he is a climber and a fiddler. SO even if the windows are on the lock when they are open I wouldn't trust him not to work out how to open it.

We were told to open our loft hatch to let the hot air go up there and we did this last year and it did seem to help a bit.

dal21 · 06/08/2007 08:52

Morning all - well i feel out of sorts today so have not gone into work. Would feel guilty if mat leave didnt start soon - but am going to put myself and bub first.

Intend to sit my feet up all day and relax and nap and stay away from all the DIY!

Hope everyone else has good days!

alicet · 06/08/2007 09:11

Inzi really sorry to hear your granddad is still poorly. If its any consolation what is happening to him is entirely standard even though I can understand why you are so worried and it seems as though nothing is being done. Firstly lots of causes of bleeding from the bowel will stop on their own without needing an operation and then you have time to investigate properly to ensure that the right thing is done. Even if they think it?s caused by something that won?t stop on its own its often better to give the patient some blood and sometimes other treatments to get them as fit as possible for the operation. As far as other investigations at the moment go its often very difficult. The ones that would be useful to see where the bleeding is coming from are either a colonoscopy where they pass a fine camera around the bowel but when there is bleeding this can often make it difficult to see anything. The other option is something called an angiogram. This is where they inject a die that can be seen by xrays into one of your blood vessels and then take pictures to see where it is leaking from. The trouble with this is you actually need to be bleeding very rapidly in order to see the leak ? in most cases the bleeding is not rapid enough and it fails to find the answer. So try and be patient ? I?m sure that all is being done for your grandpa. If you have any more questions I will do my best to help ? either on this thread or CAT me.
Thinking of you today with your scan too?.

Lisa ? sounds like you had a lovely day and evening!

Winnie ? sounds like you have been very industrious but good to hear everything is taking shape!

J20 ? sorry to hear you couldn?t get near the paddling pool! How inconsiderate!

Floria ? hope you?re still about today and not in labour!!!!

Polar ? hope you had a fab week away

Buffy ? are you OK honey? Not heard from you in ages?. Anyone know how she?s doing?

Muppet ? hope your consultant appointment goes well today and that the pains were nothing to worry about?

Dal ? don?t feel guilty ? you?re right to put the health of yourself and lo first! Plenty of time to worry about work later and if you?re feeling rough then you wouldn?t be much use anyway! Hope you feel better soon!

I had a much better night?s sleep last night so feeling much more human today. Weather not so great though so not sure what we?re up to this am as was going to take ds to the park? Anyway big hellos to everyone, those who have been so busy please slow down as you?re making me feel guilty!! Hello to all, and I?ll probably be back on a bit later??

FloriaTosca · 06/08/2007 10:18

Good morning!
Good news is I'm not in labour... though I seriously thought I might be heading for it last night That walk really took it out of me;..my ligaments are defiantely loosening, my legs just arent doing their job properly, especially up hill.. and my back and hips were killing me last night...I turned over in bed and got the most excruciating pain inside, from my hip to my cervix..it fortunately lasted only seconds but I seriously thought "this is it!"and OMG was it hot last night!I was so hot I couldnt bear anything touching me and stripped off and sprayed myself all over with one of theose face spritzers...it worked for long enough to get back to sleep...though poor Dh thought he was in for a treat when he woke to find me sprawled starkers next to him (poor love, he's got so used to me being coy now about exposing my big, bruised belly and covering up all the time )
Muppet; sorry for your scare, I hope it doesnt happen again.
Polar; Good to see you back, hope you and DH had a lovely time
LES; what a wonderfully good Ds you have! Tips on training greatly appreciated!

Well I've not done my heparin injection yet or had any breakfast (probably the heat, I just couldnt face food at 7am) so I'll go and get something done...see you all later

TheLadyEvenstar · 06/08/2007 10:54

Floria,

I don't know he has always been the same lol. I think it stems from when he was younger and I used to lay down with him in afternoons to get him to have a nap as he stopped napping at 8 months. As for making his own dinner, he has always loved helping me in the kitchen and about 15 months ago he asked me if he could cook his own dinner so I let him (with supervision) and he loves doing it now. Mind you he also does his own washing and hangs it up (not all the time) and hoovers up. Along with other things. I have a way of looking at life that I do not want him to grow up like so many men that can't do things for themselves. So I have taught him from an early age lolol I know I am an evil mummy. BUT it has done him good.Only thing I won't let him do is iron although he wants to......I am sure he should have been a girl lmao

TheLadyEvenstar · 06/08/2007 11:10

Floria, I must be wierd....I can't stand wearing anything in bed at the moment as it is far too hot for me. Still waking up every night with left leg hanging off bed, knee bent and foot just inches from the floor lol..

Poor Dp is knackered he works nights and i keep grabbing him....this pg I am so errr whats the word he calls me...oh yeah a nymphomaniac lmao. I think he looks forward to work as he gets a rest

Saw a photo of myself yesterday and was totally shocked that from behind i don't look pregnant..see me from the front n I am HUGEEEEEEEEEEE lol. Mind you i still have my waist and hips rofl.

RIght I am off to sort out more clothes to chuck away as with the move getting ever closer I don't feel I have done anything.

ejt1764 · 06/08/2007 11:17

Morning all - monster post from me today!

Inzi ? am thinking about you and your family ? hopefully they?ll be able to sort out your gf today! Good luck with scan today ? thinking of you doubly!

Lisad ? I sincerely hope your weekend got better ? it?s no fun at all not being able to get to the pool!

J20 ? congratulations on finishing your wallpapering! Go easy on the laminate floor ? although being on hands and knees should be good for making sure that babe is in a good position!

Alice ? the heat is absolutely horrible ? we were out yesterday afternoon, as the choir were singing at the Blues open day ? we did 2 short sets, and boy, was it hot!! Got home and demanded that dh fill the paddling pool ? I then sat with my feet dangling over the side ? hopefully you slept a little better last night ? it was definitely cooler here (and it rained quite a lot too!)

Polarmummy ? hope you had a good time whilst away ? I?ve dreamy about this baby too ? when 8 weeks pg (or so!) I dreamt that I gave birth to a beautiful dark-haired little girl ? I?d said I was going to call her Mairwen ? but when I saw how dark she was, I said I couldn?t as there was nothing ?wen? about her! (Wen is the suffix put on Welsh names meaning either white or blessed) ? I was right about the baby being a girl ? wonder if I?ll be right about her colouring?

Muppetgirl ? am sooooooo pleased that your pains stopped! Not fun!

Buffy ? am on your behalf about physio ? I?d definitely phone the physio department and chase it up ? (speaks the bitter voice of experience!) Hope you are feeling better soon, and that the runs stop ? as an aside, if you can get hold of cocodamol for the spd pain (probably best to get it from your gp), then the codeine in that will bung you up ? well, it has that effect on me anyway!

FT ? am very glad that the walk didn?t send you into early labour! Hope you feel a little better today!

LES ? my ds is expected to pull his weight in the house too ? at his age, there is a limit to what he can do, but he is perfectly capable of stacking the dishwasher (with supervision), and filling and emptying the washing machine ? he also helps to put the washing out (he?s in charge of pegs ? too small to reach the line). He also cooks with me and dh ? dh is a really good role model for him in terms of doing stuff in the house ? mind you, if dh didn?t do it at the moment, it just wouldn?t get done! Oh, and I keep grabbing dh too ? he doesn?t seem top bothered by it though!

Hi to everybody else ? ds and I have been swimming this morning ? he had a swimming lesson, while I bobbed about and did my hydro exercises ? I?m about to go and have a shower, as the showers at the pool are open, and though I?m not too bad with dh seeing my hippo-like body, showing it off in a communal shower is different!

We had a lovely meal out on Friday ? we went to an Italian restaurant on Penarth seafront ? I had starter (whitebait), main course (chicken in cream, dolcelatto, asparagus & white wine sauce), and dessert (strawberry cheesecake) ? and my luck was definitely in as the indigestion fairy stayed away too! DH bought me a gorgeous bracelet as an anniversary pressie ? I haven?t bought him anything, as I haven?t got a clue what to buy him! Never mind ? he can have extra at Christmas!

On the pg after mc thread, we?re putting together a text / email buddy list for when we have our babies, so that we don?t lose touch with anybody. I?d be happy to put a list together for this thread if you want ? I?d aim to put people together with somebody at least 2 weeks away from them in terms of due date ? what do you think?

Have a good day all!
