morning all. Winnie, I symapthise about the delivery - horrible when you think it's coming, you're counting on it and then it doesn't and you have no means of getting it. Hope you got your milk in the end.

well I seem to have taken over where mrs fish left off yesterday! Took me until nearly 1.00 this morning to get DS settled (he's usually a good sleeper but was waking up every 10 minutes, crying really fretfully in his sleep and then even more bizarely banging his head and body against the cot until he woke up screaming.....???) Anyway by 1 I'd had enough so took him in with me (for which I will pay the price tonight) and he slept a bit better in there til 5.20 this morning when he woke up high as a b**y kite!! Don't know why I'm smiling whilst I type cause I want to scream, shout and run away as fast as I can. DH is away, at work so not engaged with this at all.

So apologies for the rant there but feeling shattered today and know I'll be all snappy with him, which makes him even more mischievous....viscious circle. Ho hum. At least the sun is out. Just feel so tired with this pregnancy, a weary tired as opposed to the hormonal tired...has anyone else had that~? Do you think it is just the reality of being pregnant with other LO's??

Anyway - must stop this now.HOpe you're all having better mornings.

MrsFish · 24/07/2007 07:56

Nellie - I totally get what you mean about a 'weary' tired, thats how I feel most of the time at the moment.

Hope everyone has a nice day in the slightly better weather. My mum might be coming up today which will be nice, I've not seen her for about a month.

muppetgirl · 24/07/2007 08:06

Hi Nellie

Yes I know what you mean about the weary tiredness, I went swimming yesteday and then did a full shop with Ollie (something dh never does, I mean shopping with Oliie) came home, was about to bake cakes for him to ice today but just soooooooo tired. I seem to be tired in my face if that makes sense? My eyes are gritty and stingy and I look paler than usual, though not aneamic.

My other prgt friend phoned yesteday and has had a huge pain in her ribs/middle of back and they say it could be gall stones, a blood clot ribs moving etc. She's been told to rest as much as possible but her and her dh run 2 shops and it's hard just to 'stop.' I told her I do rest as much as possible but you're right, with lo's you don't get to sleep and that's what I really want to do!

Mrs Fish -Have a lovely time with your mum!

Well, we're off to soft play this morning with friends and then baking cakes when we get back ready to ice this afternoon. We're going to write an 'O' for Ollie on each in writing icing that he chose yesterday. He'd like blue icing with orange writing icing hmmmm......that might be the pick me up I need to get me bouncing off the walls

lisad123 · 24/07/2007 08:39

Sorry you have all had such a bad few days girls. I know what you mean about the shopping and floods of tears, it really doesnt take a lot to set me off right now

Im glad none of you are directly in the flood area, i think that would really end me, could not manage it

I have docs appointment this pm, fingers crossed i dont get sent back to hospital, but you never know with me

Im on my tod today so hoping to get some rest but knowing me i'll find something to do. hehee

j20baby · 24/07/2007 09:08

Morning all

sorry most people are so tired, i don't feel too bad today, going to visit relatives today, dd is not impressed, but as she's grounded, she has no choice ha ha.

good luck at docs lisa, hope they don't need to keep you in, i've got to go see the specialist about my iron levels tommorrow, i'm going to ask to have the drip this time, i'm so fed up of the tablets not working, can't remember who said about their mum being deficient in B12(i think) when she was pg, but they tested me a couple of months ago for that and they where ok. would rather sit for half a day with a needle in my hand than carry on like this for another 10 weeks.

hope you all have a nice day

Morning everyone,

Feeling much better today. Got up at 6am to iron DPs shirt but went back to bed after that. He got up about 6.15 and showered them went downstairs to do a bit on his computer. When he came back upstairs he asked where DD was. He had forgotten she stayed at her grandparents last night.

When he went out about 7am I went back to sleep and only woke up when I hear FIL's car on the drive at 9.15am.

He is now cutting the grass while DD is playing outside on her scooter. He took her swimming yesterday and she did really well. Her armbands were barely inflated and she also put her face under the water, which she usually hates. I am taking her to the dentist this afternoon for a filling.

We need to get her birthday cake made this week, so we may do that is afternoon.

I hope everyone has a good day today.

dal21 · 24/07/2007 10:33

whooo hoo! Leati is back on the FAS topic on the AIBU thread. Much more measured tone this time. will watch with interest!

PolarMummy · 24/07/2007 10:34

Morning Everyone, haven't managed to catch up properly but I have had a skim read through. Sorry to hear that so many people are feeling down at the moment, big hugs to everyone I finish work on Wednesday for just over a week and I cannot wait to have some time off

MrsFish I am about 3/4 of the way through the last Harry Potter book and it is worth reading. Though I didn't like the first chapter so if you haven't started reading it yet persevere with it

It seems to have been the weekend for having people over for dinner although I took the easy way out Dh had invited a few of our friends over and we were supposed to be having a BBQ but the weather was horrible on Friday afternoon so we ended up ordering in a Chinese. It was really good craic but I was so tired as I had started getting ready straight after work and so by an 12.30am I was willing them to go home as I needed my bed, think they left at about 1am and I was probably in bed for about 1.15am with all the dirty chinese dishes just left lying, there was no way I could face them. DH was a wee gem on Saturday morning, he told me to have an extra snooze while he went down and tidied up the Kitchen, Love him to pieces

alicet · 24/07/2007 17:14

Well I got the tearful hormones last night! Went out for a lovely meal with 3 close friends who I met through NCT classes when having ds1 and one who is due to have her 2nd baby 3 days after me as well. Lovely night but I was shatterered. They have a lot of the same days off and I basically felt a bit left out. Silly really as it wasn?t deliberate and as I was feeling so tired and cr*p I didn?t butt in with my own things to say to keep in with it or ask too many questions. Oh well ? feel much happier this am. Work was a struggle with the nausea but better than last week so here?s hoping its getting better. I may end up changing the days I work and do more outpatient clinics and less operating as at the moment it just makes me really sick. Will make my job much less interesting which is a real shame but to be honest at the mo I don?t care as long as I don?t feel like vomiting all the time! Not ideal for the patients either obviously!!!!

Winnie sorry to hear you had a stressful time yesterday. Just the sort of thing that I usually would be fine with but at the moment would probably have me in floods of tears! Good luck with the tidying and party preparation this week and hope your dd?s party is fab if you don?t make it back on here before then?.

Nellie I have to say that I have felt totally exhausted this time round. I had never even thought about it being hard to be pregnant with another lo to look after ? just that it would be hard with 2 small children. If it makes you feel any better though a friend of a friend told her that being pregnant with a toddler is MUCH harder than having a baby and a toddler ? here?s hoping!!!!

Lisa ? hope your docs appt went well?

J20 ? good luck with iron check up tomorrow?.

Dal21 ? think I might stay away from Leati and her preaching this time!!! Famous last words?..

Big waves to everyone else!

dal21 · 24/07/2007 19:40

Alicet - sorry about your evening, hormones are a nightmare sometimes.

LOL at your avoidance from the new alcohol thread. see you popped onto the other one though - think that has the potential to blow up! Some of these debates become so heated! Am still not quite used to it!

j20baby · 24/07/2007 20:11

evening to everyone

feeling so sick today haven't had any tea, but managing to eat a white choc coookie and some strawberry milk atm.

if anyone fancies a bit of a giggle have a look at this i found it funny!

hope everyone is ok and lisa if your around let us know how your apppointment went

Pheebe · 24/07/2007 21:30

Evening all

Sorry to hear so many of us are feeling sick again. Hopefully its just another passing phase.

Just realised today we're all waaay over halfway now and we're on the home straight!

Got this bloomin GTT tomorow. I might ask to see a doc while I'm there as the pain lasted all evening yesterday and made it down as far as my belly button. Can't get a GP appointment for days! Still, it was constant which hopefully means its just stretching pains again but would just like to double check. Going to have some toast now as it'll be the last thing I eat til tomorow lunch time...

lisad123 · 24/07/2007 22:32

hello [waves]

They didnt keep me in still not got test results back yet, so will have to wait. My doc has signed me off until my materity leave starts at 36 weeks so one less thing to worry about.

Hope your GTT goes well tomorrow Pheebe, take a good book and a bottle of water. It made me feel so sick, hope you dont have too much to do tomorrow afternoon.

Is anyone else getting "false labour"?? I have been getting a few contractions that come every 10 mins but it goes normally after an hour or two, and not painful enough to make me cry. I didnt know i was in labour with dd when i went in, and didnt really feel a lot till about 4cm. I only got to 5cm before rushing into C sections. I think if they start agin tonight i will have to go in, best be careful.

Lisa

FloriaTosca · 24/07/2007 23:58

Good Evening everyone..good night even, I've jut seen the time
I've had a busy one today but wanted to pop in and see how everyone is doing
Lisa; I sincerely hope nothing is happening and you wont have to go back in again [concerned emoticon]
Sorry so many of you are having the weepies ... I'm so there with you! Last week I was like a watering can I was so bad!
DH is in France today so I spent the evening after dog club with my Mum; she's been lecturing about giving it up because one of the newbies lanched itself at my lad tonight and they nearly had me on the floor...but I love teaching obedience, it is my only hobby now, but I see her point, so I just think I had better just leave my lad at home for the next few weeks.
Well actually getting sleepy....and there was me planning an early night in bed with Harry Potter ...but it looks like Harry will have to wait until morning.
g'night all!

alicet · 25/07/2007 09:03

Pheebe hope GTT goes OK today and that you manage to see a doc about your pain

J20 love the cat thread!!! OUrs haven't brought anything more exciting than dead birds and mice unfortunately...

dal21 - have to admit did go read alcohol thread (apart from the ridiculously long cut and pastes) and she did seem much more reasonable. Easier not to get drawn in though!

Lisa - hope all was ok with your pains overnight and you didn't have to go back in

Was hoping to go to the park today but weather a bit grim. Waiting to hear back from a mate to decide if we'll do something else instead.... probably around later for more chat!

muppetgirl · 25/07/2007 09:17

Morning all
Phebee -Hope the gtt goes well for you!

I have my mw app today adn dh was being rather shady about it last night. When I asked him if he was coming he said -I can if you really want me too.....

Now, what are you supoosed to say to that?

I thought we'd already made that decision and he was so I said I understand you're worrying about work but I'm unhappy that you've not even mentioned it this evening and was just going to accidentally 'forget'
I don't think that's entirely fair.

Bloody men

MrsFish · 25/07/2007 09:32

Good luck today Pheebe.

Hope you are feeling better Lisa.

Alicet - we were supposed to go to the park for a picnic today too, but its wet wet wet, so going round to friends for a carpet picnic instead

Muppetgirl - blokes just don't think, thats there problem

Hope everyone has a good day.

MrsFish · 25/07/2007 09:33

I meant 'their' problem

nellieloula · 25/07/2007 12:01

morning everyone - good luck today Pheebe - hope it all goes well. I've got mine in a couple of weeks altho they can't decide whether it should be a fasting one or not....they test everyone here as a matter of course but cause i've changed hospitals I'm across two care trusts which helps!

hope you're not feeling so sick J20??? and that everyone else is ok.

Muppet, I second the bloody men sentiment - mrs fish is right, they just don't think - actually, I think it's more that they don't have the capacity rather than they're being thoughtless if you know what I mean - just doesn't occur to them. My DH has only just (this weekend) got that I'm pregnant!!! 26 weeks in but hey! Better late than never. Make sure you do what makes you feel better - and if that means putting your foot down, so be it - you're the one who's pregnant and as we all know, it's not always a barrel of laughs!

have a good afternoon everyone - enjoy the carpet picnics and otherwise.

FloriaTosca · 25/07/2007 12:20

Hi All!
Hope those who have been tearful are feeling better today
Lisa; hope you are feeling better
Pheebe; hope the gtt goes well and doesnt make you feel too sick.[sympathetic emoticon]
Muppet; sorry but lol at your DH...do they really think we "forget" about these things?...mine knows we have a big decision to make before next Monday, he knows what side I'm now on but still wont get off the fence himself and either agree with me or get on the other side and ask me to come over as I said I would...it doesnt help with the hormone imbalance does it?

Well I had a lovely morning with Harry Potter ... my hormones are definately out of kilter because I needed to get the tissues out....am now because that is it, it's all over, no more new Harry Potter books [sigh]....I've just got to look forward to reading them out loud to this LO in a few years time.

alicet · 25/07/2007 12:33

Hi all.

Well manged to have a lovely morning in the park and then went for an early lunch with some friends and our lo?s. Ds went to sleep in the pushchair on the way home which is only a 5-10 min walk and usually this is a disaster as he then wakes when I try and put him in his cot and thinks he?s been sleeping so its time to get up! Then we have a massive battle persuading him otherwise! However today for the first time I managed to lift him out of the pushchair and into his cot without him waking! Bonus! In his pushchair he will only sleep max of an hour whereas in his cot its 2-3 ? selfish mum that I am he is just as happy and rested with either but I really value that couple of hours to chill at the mo!

Floria ? good luck making the decision about your amnio and fingers crossed your dh comes round to your point of view.

MrsFish ? enjoy your carpet picnic!!

Muppet ? hope you mw appt goes well and that your dh managed to make it!

Hello to everyone else?.

Mumpbump · 25/07/2007 12:52

Afternoon all! Very quick post as I'm tired (ds up in the night) and haven't got the energy to plough through all the messages and post to everyone. But I just bought this for my sister's fiance - saw it at a friend's house - and thought it might be of interest...

Haynes baby manual

alicet · 25/07/2007 13:06

I've seen this too mump! Its really cool.

Mumpbump · 25/07/2007 13:09

It occurred to me today that I only have 7.5 weeks left to work before going on maternity leave... For those who work, when are you stopping?

muppetgirl · 25/07/2007 13:17

Well, the mw was the 1st mv I saw who did my initial booking and knew about my pnd.
She was FAB! She listened to my concerns, agreed about the growth scan and that the date needs to be sorted, asked if I wanted to wait for my 28 week check or did I want her to arrange a consultants app for next week!

I said could she do the app so I'm waiting to hear when it will be.

Not sure how they decide whether a baby is big or the dates are wrong but will find out. This would mean I would know that date and know when being overdue would start from.

Feeling MUCH better now and have booked to see her next time not the other, 'oh, I don't see a problem...' mw.

As to dh...... phoned him and told him and he asked when the app would be as he would definately be there.

Alicet -Let's hope you lo sleeeeeeeppppppss

Am thinking of taking Ollie swimming later but not sure if I'm brave enough!
