Oh I didnt mean to post that twice. Looks like I'm really rubbing it in!

MrsJetson · 17/08/2007 10:19

Little - thank you!

RGPargy · 17/08/2007 12:33

ok ok, Anna. I think you really ARE rubbing it in

Only 8 weeks to go for me, although me and DP are frustrated that i cant give up sooner coz there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day for me to do anythign at home and DP absolutely HATES coming home to an empty house and would much rather i was there. But although i can officially give up on about 11th September, it means the money stops sooner and we really cant afford it just yet so i'll have to plod on and wait for 17th October.

Hope everyone is well today and well done SGK for getting your bag ready!

I'm off for another 2 weeks and then BACK to work lol. Total opposite to you Anna. I'm hoping to work till the end- mind you it's only half a day a week

aikigypsy · 17/08/2007 14:55

Pixiefish -- I'm in a similar situation with work. I've left one job, and am hoping to do a bit more random work here and there from mid-September until the baby pops out. However, it's not going to be anything strenuous or too career-oriented, just something to keep a little cash coming in, like working in a shop or writing some articles for the local newspaper.

littleoldme-- I've also heard that on your back is one of the worst positions for labour, in terms of opening things up, and working with gravity. I don't suppose anyone's ever tried to give birth while doing a headstand . It's actually one of the reasons I'm not all gung-ho for water birth, I like the idea of having gravity help out a little. I'm aiming for squatting, but we'll see what happens.

I passed the GTT, although they said that my fasting blood sugar levels were borderline, but the woman who called with my results warned me off eating too much ice cream

sparklygothkat · 17/08/2007 14:57

Have had the GTT and the steriod injection, have to go back at 10pm tonight and have the second one done.. I was right, it does hurt.. I cried out a bit when she did it.

RGPargy · 17/08/2007 14:58

aiki - glad you passed your GTT!

Sparkly - sorry your injection was horrid Go and reward yourself with some ice cream or chocolate or something equally scrummy.

Pixiefish · 17/08/2007 15:36

RGPargy- saw you ask on another thread who ggglimpo was and didn't like to say on there. Do you rmemeber the MNer who lives in France and her 2 yo dd died in her sleep during her afternoon nap. Maude?

RGPargy · 17/08/2007 15:38

Oh yes, i remember reading about Maude in an article that was linked to on here. Thanx for clearing that up.

Pixiefish · 17/08/2007 15:42

I see no one answered on the other thread and i didn't want to on there

RGPargy · 17/08/2007 15:45

Sure, i can understand that.

MaddySE21 · 17/08/2007 15:59

RGPargy · 17/08/2007 16:01

Hello and welcome Maddy!

I had a dream about breastfeeding last night actually (not kittens tho!).

I also dreamt that i'd just had my baby BOY (i'm having a girl) and i was pottering around getting ready to feed him. Next thing, he's standing next to me and is about 18 months old! I asked him how he got so big in such a short space of time! I dont remember anything else after that.

MaddySE21 · 17/08/2007 17:04

Thanks for the welcome
Think I will become a regular!
Maddy

RGPargy · 17/08/2007 17:06

What's your due date and do you know what you are having? I will add you to our list!

choudru · 17/08/2007 18:45

Evening ladies,

I thought I would quickly add a post before dinner. DH and DS have gone out to get some naans - am proud to say I got up off my @rse and made a curry.

Thanks for all the potty training advice by the way - you have no idea how much you have put my mind at rest. I was stressing about it for some reason but now I figure that if I train him when he turns 3, it's no big deal. I really don't think he's ready now anyway - he knows what poo and wee wee are but doesn't tell me when he does them.

To add to the nappy debate - see nappy savings for information as well. They reckon you save around £650 by using re-usables.

What's all this about a 2 year old dying in her sleep? How awful!!!

choudru · 17/08/2007 18:46

Welcome Maddy by the way - do you know what you're having?

littleoldme · 17/08/2007 18:47

SGC - sorry the injection hurt. Poor old you!!

Mrs J - Loopy glad you've found the article helpful. I've been tubi gripped up all day and feel tonnes better.

Maddy - anyone who had the same dreams as me is more than welcome as far as I am concerned.

Forgive my ignorance but what is all this GTT malarkey?

I'm going to be off line for a while as we are off on our hols. Yay So I'll catch up with you all in a week or so. Don't go having too much fun without me.

We're off to the northern highlands. DH is under the impression we'll be leaving at 6am.

The girls are playing up terribly tonight too, if they carry on, DH will not be able to come with me, and I'll have to ask the babysitter to come instead.. My dad took me this morning and held my hand, but he can't this evening as he has gone to pick up my mum from the caravan. I don't understand why they are playing up so much

Pixiefish · 17/08/2007 21:22

SGK- thye've got a lot to deal with atm, as have you and your dh. Kids pick up on things and will play up. They probably won't play up for the babysitter

Pixiefish · 17/08/2007 21:26
