ara- Don't knoe how you managing to restrain yourself. We are being given loads of stuff which is sating my desire to nest for the mo. Once the house is organised I'll shop.

DH is currently mucking out the spare room. When he starts saying we have a lot of clutter it must be bad.

Back to work.

Ow! Pixie!

You poor thing - hope you're not feeling too bad. Do you think you should go and be checked over, just to be on the safe side?

Littleoldme - I have 2 rattles and a baby suit someone gave me! That's all! It's driving me insane!!!!!!!!!!!

The house we're thinking about needs attention in the paint and carpet dept (genuinely needs - not just a matter of taste) so if we get it the first few weeks will be taken up with that, pushing my shopping urges even further back. Aargh. I can't wait much longer!!

muckers · 14/07/2007 12:30

ara - sounds like an interesting job, all I can say is delegate where you can and take rest breaks when you need to, might be the only way to get through those long days without being completely exhausted.

Pixie - Ouch, sounds painful, sounds like you need rest and TLC me thinks.

Just been to Matalan and got some cute, blue baby bibs..

One of my spare rooms is beginning to resemble a jumble sale (new or nearly new stuff of course), cant wait to have a good sort out when the nursery is done.

Pixiefish · 14/07/2007 12:41

off to a party this pm and the hostess is a midwife so may ask her but I have been feeling the baby move and as i didn't land on my bump I think it shoudl be allright

muckers · 14/07/2007 12:56

Yeah sounds like everything is ok with Bump, but still knees are very painful, I've had to operations on my right knee and have suffered on and off with the pain for years. Oh a party, much rather be going to a party than to work!!, lucky you

Pixiefish · 14/07/2007 12:57

muckers · 14/07/2007 12:59

Cool, Jelly and Ice-cream, my fav!!!

If you ask my sis when the last time she got drunk was, she is very proud to tell anyone it was earlier this year at an 8 yr olds bithday party!! Disgusting - LOL

Still better than going to work.

ara · 14/07/2007 13:06

LOL at your sis Muckers!! Hee hee - good for her!

muckers · 14/07/2007 13:15

Right time for me to log out and get ready for work, talk soon

RGPargy · 14/07/2007 14:14

Hope you feel better soon, Pixiefish!!!

littleoldme · 14/07/2007 14:59

Pixie - hope you feel brighter soon. You've sterngthend my resolve to but a new staris carpet ours is threadbare to say the least.

Have just read a v heart warming story. One of the questions on the exam I'm marking asks the kid to describe a childhood memory . This boy described in detail how he was terrorised by bullies for seven years. One day he snapped, the next thing he remembered his assailant was lying on the floor with two black eyes and bloody nose. He doesn't get bullied anymore. I don't usually condone violence but some people just need a good smack.

littleoldme - hats off to that little boy!! Shame it took him 7 years to finally snap tho!!

littleoldme · 14/07/2007 18:20

Rg - yeah I know but think of the satisfaction of releasing all that pent up rage - albeit in someone's face.

Just been looking at baby names. We've decided to pick four we like best and see what suits him best when he arrives.

Hi all, I haven't read this new thread as I have minutes before cleaning up and bedtime routine but just wanted to share. This thursday I went to pregnant ladies yoga and as we were all introducing ourselves and sharing how pregnant we were, I noticed all barr one of the other ladies due approximately when I was barely look pregnant. I am massive! (as is one other lady,) I presume that it's because we are the only two not on our first pregnancy!

Haven't put on any weight yet though, in fact at this point I'm 9lbs lighter than when I got the positive result. Though I think weight loss is over as I gained half a pound last week for the first time and I feel the urge to eat anything that moves (or doesn't!)

Littleoldme - Well done on the name thing, I find boys name SOOO difficult. We started thinking about names as soon as the positive. Luckily we were sorted by the time we had the scan for either a boy or a girl.

Just out of interest, do you struggle with finding names for a particular sex? (or are DP and I just a bit strange?)

Sorry to post and run, but I will be back tomorrow having read all of the new thread in all it's glory.
Manana!

littleoldme · 14/07/2007 19:23

Peevesey. Boys names are a struggle but we have managed to find about three we agree on. Dh has a comples that anything vaguely ' different ' will result in our lo getting bashed at school. I keep trying to tell him that kids will always find something if they want too.

I had a list of fab girls names though. I think we're going to name him after my stepdad c'os he's fab. It's also the same middle name as my FIL which is quite nice. I only hope my Mum ans MIL don't expect the same thing if we ever have gitl as they have the same first name but we don't like it!

OP posts:
littleoldme · 14/07/2007 19:50

If we ever have at gitl I really must proofread these more carefully.

Is everyone keeping choice of names secret?

littleoldme · 14/07/2007 20:09

I'm trying. I'm really good at keeping other people's secret's but not my own

aikigypsy · 14/07/2007 20:25

I'm not enthusiastic about discussing names. I try to head off the question. So far we have two that we like... or rather, I have one I like, and my boyfriend has one he likes, which I sort of agree on, then there's a third that's a possibility. And I still think we should look at some boys' names, just in case.

silkcushion · 14/07/2007 20:29

I've told everyone's who's asked the name we've chosen. I can't keep anything a secret.

I expect we'll totally change our minds when she's born and not call her Megan at all.

Of course, it's interesting to see people's reactions to yr choice of name.

Most people say something nice. MIL didn't.

The best stage is now..... blooming or bloomin more like. Oh the joys of one handed typing whilst feeding is yet to come for you.

RGPargy · 15/07/2007 17:10

Hi everyone

Had a really rotten miserable day yesterday. I had the mizzogs all day and was very teary!! I think all the stress of moving and packing/unpacking had finally taken it's toll and left me blubbering about the most stupid of things!! My poor DP!! I had to reassure him that it was just hormones and that us pg women get emotional about not having a pair of sandals to wear (and other such dramatic things) now and then.

Having a much better day today and will be also be doing my radio show today.
