Er that was meant in reply to Nicky6's post, nothing to do with leaky boobs at all lol!

MamaMaiasaura · 13/07/2007 21:58

barristermum - def good dress for work Sooo comfy too, think it will do after preg for a while too.

Gingeme - dry boobs here (itchy nipplies tho)

Naetha - the hairband goes through the button hole and you thread the hair band through itself so it leaves one loop of hariband which goes over the button

toomanyshoes · 13/07/2007 22:33

Hello,
finally recovered from ear infection and ms has stopped so feeling normal for first time since I got pg! What a relief!

Fruitful - I haven't been for my blood test either, don't see the point. They aren't testing for anything i wasn't tested for last time so just seems bit pointless to me. i also realised today that I haven't rung to make 16 week appointment for next week. just feel very disinterested in all the antenatal stuff this time, don't know why. In denial possibly?!

Sideways - how rotten to still be feeling sick, hope you feel better soon

Nicky6 - I think 2 door could be quite frustrating when it comes to getting a baby
in and out. We had a small 4 door when we had DD and even that drove us nuts! Got harder as she got bigger and kept bumping her head getting her in the car seat! We now have an Audi A6 estate and it's much easier. Not nearly as glam as a convertible though so understand the dilemma!

Angechica - good luck with the scan, sure it will all be fine. Will keep everything crossed for you!

Beller, have a fab holiday, sounds like you need it!

Awen, love the dress and shame the car so expensive to fix! I bought a fab wrap dress and top from www.cravematernity.co.uk, deffo worth a look. Also got some nice jeans from Next but off to New Look and Dorothy Perkins next week as have discount cards for both! makes me feel less guilty for spending the money I am supposed to be saving to fund 13 months maternity leave!!! Ho hum, sure we'll manage somehow, besides don't fit in any non maternity stuff now so its the choice between buying stuff or going to work in pyjamas...

Big wave to everybody else, hope you all have lovely restful weekends planned!

LilyLoo · 14/07/2007 08:13

morning all, glad to see everyone seems to be feeling a bit better now, except sideways hopefully the blooming thread will be here soon!
well am off to have my hair done this a, and can't wait a nice couple of hours to myself, then taking ds to a party. Anyone doing anything nice today ?

beller · 14/07/2007 09:25

Nicky6 - I have a convertable VW beetle and I too will have to sell BUT its definately for a good reason. Cant get a buggy/pram in the boot and i used to have to put my golf clubs in the passenger seat. When i took my nephew out in a car seat, it was a nightmare and this was only about twice a month!
I dotn know what to get either...but will definately be 4 door...any suggestions? Was thinking of a Golf..or Corsa..but not sure how big the boots are in a corsa? Will have to have a look around...also maybe an Audi? nice cars...

MamaMaiasaura · 14/07/2007 13:21

beller - I Have a corsa.. not very big in the boot (mine is a 3 door) amy have to sell too.

efmc · 14/07/2007 16:41

hi again everyone... been away for ages as feeling too sick and tired in the evening, and can't come on here at work!

hope you're all stll well and enjoying your pregnancies xxxx

i've had 2 midwife appointments, had my bloods and wee samples, and am having my first scan on 23rd july at 12 weeks.

at the moment my due date is 2nd or 4th february, but the dating scan will give me another new date i'm sure!

keep well everyone - i'm absolutely shattered all the time, and had an emotional 'wobble' on wednesday... ended up crying down the phone at my boss cos i couldn't face the meeting with him.

oh dear!!!!

Naetha · 14/07/2007 16:42

Golfs don't have very much boot space either I'm afraid - compared to astras and focuses, golfs are crap.

We use them for work, and you can only fit two cool boxes in the back and hardly anything else. In my (older style) Astra, I can get 4 cool boxes and other stuff too

(We use cool boxes to store samples - its not a new unit of boot size measurement!)

MrsMcJnr · 14/07/2007 23:08

So tired, must go to bed, very quickly before I go, time for a quick catch up

How do I load my scan photos in? I?ve scanned them in but they are now pdf not jpeg and I can?t get them to upload any tips?

Gingeme ? wow! very odd shaped conical nipples at the mo but no milk yet.

Hello to you all and speak soon ? started wearing my weekend mat clothes last night ? it?s heaven

skibump · 14/07/2007 23:57

Hi everyone, pc now mended (at last!!!)

Plummy, soooo sorry to hear your news ((hugs)) Have you been on one of the m/c threads? I could meet you over there

Beller, I've just go tback from the Italian lakes, the weather was fantastic, you'll have a great time

Glad to hear everyone else is progressing well, good luck, and remember to enjoy it

buzzybee · 15/07/2007 09:26

Nicky6 - just dropping by from the due in Dec (xmas day in my case!) thread and saw your post about cars.
Have you looked at Saabs? I think they might do a 4 door convertible.
Actually I have a 3 door Saab coupe (9-3S) and have never really had a problem with the 2 door thing and they have a huge boot. The front door is huge and its quite easy to get access to the back seat if you push the seats forward. Also actually found it less hard on my back as putting in baby square-on IYSWIM rather than sideways. I'm 6' tall and never had a problem. Now that my DD1 is older (5) its actually a godsend as she can never open the back door accidentally, can't wind down the windows on the motorway (!) and is perfectly happy climbing into the back herself and doing up her seatbelt.

nicky6 · 15/07/2007 09:55

thanks for all the car advice will have a look at saab always been a vdub lover so will have a look, been searching net and it looks like both chrysler and merc are bringing out 4 door convertibles but not in time for any of us.

Have considered going back to my original 4 door beetle as they have massive boot and the back seats fold down so you can fit a small table in ( did that for my mums christmas present one year)

I think i will invent a 4 door convertible so people with small children do not have to give up the wind in the hair feeling - i think it would be popular.

Still feeling shattered - barely got out of bed yesterday and had tooth ache all weekend - paracetomol seems to be doing trick and looks as if it is safe to use so dentist for me this week i think

ladylush · 15/07/2007 11:47

Thanks skibump (formerly plummymummy)- on a few m/c threads. Not one specifically. How are you?

Molly65 · 15/07/2007 14:21

Hello folks,

I have been reading posts every now and then, and like a few others am due mid-Jan. I'm 42 and it's all very new! Just gone public about the pregnancy after nuchal was good news. I'm a terrible worrier which is why I didn't join in earlier. Hello to others due on 15th Jan & everyone else. It's nice to hear how people are doing. I found some linen drawstring baggy trousers from M&S which are comfy and don't look bad. But I work from home so don't have to worry about smart clothes. I haven't felt sick very much but I hope that's not a bad sign. I saw my baby in the scan and it looked happy so I'm just hoping all is well (like everyone else).

LilyLoo · 15/07/2007 15:03

Welcome Molly.
Like the name change plummy
I have a 4 door polo and the boot is quite big for a small car, i can fit quite a large three wheeler pram in it, although not much room for more than 3 bags of shopping besides.
Well i have gone and bought a pair of leggings to wear with a long smock top / dress. Haven't tried them on yet but am wary as did wear them first time round. I am a great fan of liene at the mo Molly have just bought another pair actually.
Also booked a hol today to Malta for a week in August, am thinking it will be easier than next year with3 dc's and am desperate fro some sunshine after we have just got soaked at our local church/ school fair.
So will need to do more clothes shopping, any excuse

Naetha · 15/07/2007 20:56

How was everyone's weekends?

Had a nice chilled out weekend which was nice

Got a MW appointment tomorrow - mainly to have my bloods done for the triple test.

I know I'm just panicking (or being a hypochondriac, or paranoid, or both) but I think I may be anaemic / have an iron deficiency as I'm getting major palpitations, and I'm still absolutely exhausted. My hair is also falling out by the handful which is a bit worrying too lol! Will chat to the midwife about it tomorrow.

Still can't believe I'm at 16 weeks though - everything is going so fast! Still no sign of blooming yet, although I think that may be masked by post-op recovery!

MamaMaiasaura · 15/07/2007 21:14

Naetha - my hair seems to be falling out too. Still got loads of it tho as very long and thick. Might seem more because so long. I got my midwife on Tuesday, will they listen for heartbeat now? Will be 16 weeks tomorrow.

Have had a busy weekend here, ds ended up at out of hours doctor, tonsillitis again Poor boy, is due to have them out in September tho so will hopefully put end to all these infections for him.

He has been a real sweetheart despite feeling crappy. He is going to be such a great big brother. He woke me up this morning with a lovely cuddle and sang happy birthday to me despite his sore throat. I am a very lucky mummy.

LilyLoo · 15/07/2007 21:44

Aah Awen bless him, i'm sure having them out will be for the best my sister had hers out last year after numerous infections, she said it ws the best thing she did and wished she had pushed for it sooner. Did you get emotional i know i am, even cried at Charlottes web tonight when ds started crying.
They will listen for heartbeat now.
Naetha can't imaginge your body feels much like blooming after what it's been through, just think how fab you will look when you get over op and pgprogresses.
Hope everyone else ok, i like the weekends mucheasier to keep up with this thread

gingeme · 15/07/2007 21:48

Evening ladies. My ds is due to have his tonsils out Sept too. Im sure Ive asked you this before but how old is your ds? Its so waful isnt it oor little mite?
I had a very lucky day today apart from my big boys coming for their summer hols we had our comunity fete thingy on and I entered a raffle. ds3 had his face painted and in between the down pours we had a very nice afternoon. ds3 even won a best hat competition though I think it had something to do with his face being painted as Spiderman and Spiderman was the judge.
Then it came time for the raffle draw and I won. Now the reason I tell you this is because I won last year too and I was pregnant with ds4. So I think I have very lucky babys. Oh last year I won £25 M&S vouchers and this year I won a 14" tv dvd combi. Yeah my lucky babies......

MamaMaiasaura · 15/07/2007 21:54

lilyloo - i had mine out when 16 and that was 16 years ago, been so much better since

gingeme - he is 7. how old is yours. I am dreading it because i remember how much it hurt post-op and they dont give you ice cream they make you eat toast or crisps first to clear the crap in the throat.

I am super emotional. crying easy.

MamaMaiasaura · 15/07/2007 21:55

lucky you gingeme for today

LilyLoo · 15/07/2007 21:57

Gingeme.
Glad it's not just me then super hormonal this weekend!

ladylush · 16/07/2007 00:12

Awen hope your ds feels better after his op. I had my tonsils out when I was 9. Surgeon apparently told my mum they were the largest he'd ever seen (not much to boast about me thinks!). Was lucky enough to get jelly and icecream in those days I do get a lot of upper respiratory tract infections though (they get quite nasty and the cattarh is that yucky green colour, then usually turns into sinusitis)and I wondered if not having tonsils makes me more prone to them - since tonsils are part of the body's defense system. Anyway, I suppose it's not an option to keep them if they're not working properly. Tonsilitis is horrid.

goingfor3 · 16/07/2007 08:12

Hello,

I hope you are all well. I had a very busy weekend as we went to a wedding 150 miles from home. I feel exhausted now but have no time to rest as I have to go to the hospital to have some pre - op blood tests and after school I have to rush DD over to Hackney for a casting.

My bump is really growing, my fundal height is already reaching my belly button! I didn't think it was meant to be thiat high yet. At least it shows it's growing!

Naetha · 16/07/2007 08:30

Morning all - sorry to hear about kiddies with tonsilitis - I'm sure it will all be much better when they're out! Just a shame you have to wait so long on the NHS.

Had a very scary experience this morning - woke up to find white crusty goop all over my boobs - I'm only 16 weeks its not meant to be happening yet!!!!!!

Very scary, especially as its the first time . I know its entirely natural, but still scary nonetheless!

Pregnancy brain has definitely set in - arranged for Sainsbury's home delivery to come at exactly the same time as my MW appointment this morning, even though I was thinking about the appointment when I arranged the delivery! Thankfully DH has thrown a sickie this morning to sort it out! I know its naughty, but bless him all the same
