Fruitful I have bloods taken at my booking in appt for my blood group, iron levels,HIV,erm a couple of other things but cant think right now.
Im feeling sooooo hungry today . Could quite happily eat two dinners
Had my check up at the dentist today. My dentist has a little boy the same age as my lo so we were comparing notes. I told him I was expecting again and he said 'so whats that baby number6?'
My bigger boys are down from Scotland on Sunday for 3 weeks. Cant wait. I know there little brither has missed them
Going McDonalds now. Very naughty I know but it doesnt hurt as a treat does it?

fruitful · 13/07/2007 12:15

Oh, I'm not having the screening ones - if you get a high score they pressurise you into having an amnio and I'm not going there. And def having more scans - high risk for placenta praevia. And I'm having a cs anyway.

I just can't be bothered to get myself down the surgery so that they can tell me what my blood group is, and confirm that I am still immune to all the things I was immune to the last time and the time before that. Sooo lazy I know. Maybe I'll wait till I see the consultant (16 wks) - if she says anything I can get them done at the hospital by someone who does nothing else all day long and is good at it .

Glad the car is working again Awen!

fruitful · 13/07/2007 12:16

Ooh MacDonalds.

MMMM

I have to go and get ds from nursery, passing the chippie on the way back.

Mmmmm

Angechica · 13/07/2007 12:18

Scan on Tues... 13 weeks by their dates 14 or 15 by my own!

I am getting v wound up about it, maybe cos I am a a natural worrier... these are my current top 3 worries:

  1. I have a missed m/c (although i have never had a m/c before) or there is nothing there when they look.

  2. I am having twins. I am really big for my dates and have had a noticeable and growing bump for several weeks. As a first timer who was a size 12 this shouldn't really be happening yet surely...

I've read that twin p/gs sometimes get worse m/s, but i think my m/s although present has been relatively mild (tho it's been worse the past 2 weeks) I've been so tired which is another symptom but again i haven't any previous experience to compare it to!

(having twins wouldn't be a disaster tho', I guess - just v hard work!)

  1. In May i got really drunk at dh's birthday party and this has affected the baby.

Suppose i should have put my foot down about getting an earlier date, and there's nothing i can do about it now - born to fret!

MrsMcJnr · 13/07/2007 12:34

Gingme- have fun with all your boys

Fruitful I like your style ? I know what you mean about blood taking ? how can it be so painless sometimes and such agony others?

Angechica ? all the best for Tues I had some of the same worries as you, I think we all do. I have a tiny friend you was massive with both her pregnancies ? in mat clothes at week 6 ? it?s just the way she is ? not twins either!

beller · 13/07/2007 13:14

Lillyloo- thats a nice top ...go for it!

Awen, yes its my work...and cant wait to be free of them for a while! x

Angechica- I got realy drunk in May too for my sisters 40th just before i found out I was pregnant, and all is ok with me.....natural to worry though i think xx

MotherofZ · 13/07/2007 13:22

Lilyloo - £10 what a bargin!!!

MotherofZ · 13/07/2007 13:24

That Friday feeling....
..So has anyone had any cravings yet??

Past few days, I've fancied macaroni cheese for breakfast.....

Angechica · 13/07/2007 13:54

For a while it has been:

-Rice Pudding
-Custard
-Full cream milk

pretty much over that now. Mabye it's no wonder i am a fatty

Latest is

-Sparkling water with lemon & lime flavouring

no bosses or colleagues in today so am spending the day spying on friends via Facebook.

MrsMcJnr · 13/07/2007 14:26

Quite fancied a deep pan meat feast pizza at 8am this morning

Angechica - I've been enjoying that too and was told on another thread that enjoying citrus things could mean your baby's a girl

sideways · 13/07/2007 14:50

At last, a tentative hello from me to you all, especially to MrsMcJr .

I am 13 weeks, due mid January.

I am, to put it mildly, as sick as a dog, and it is getting worse not better. I cannot keep a single thing down, not even liquids atm.

All this talk of you fancying pizza and other things makes me very jealous, as I am excited if I manage a cracker a day.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hello to you all. I'll be joining in quite a bit more from now on.

MrsMcJnr · 13/07/2007 15:02

Sideways lovely news hon! how exciting to be together again so sorry to hear you are so sick I hope you get a lot better soon my worst weeks were 9 - 12 I have to say, I have been lucky. Hang in there and hope to see much more of you soon.

beller · 13/07/2007 15:09

Hi sideways!

Thats terible...are you ok..have you seen the doc? Hope your managing to get some nutrients and calories? although not from one cracker a day
Hop eyou feel better soon x

No cravings for me...although i do seem to want potatoes with everything...but thats nothing new really!

Naetha · 13/07/2007 15:18

Sorry you're feeling so awful Sideways - if you're really struggling keeping things down (especially fluids) then let your doctor/midwife know asap, as there is something they can give you to ease the sickness.

I had my first takeaway pizza in ages last night and it was gorgeous - I want another one tonight!! I wasn't able to eat them before I had my gall bladder out as the cheese would always trigger an attack, but now I can eat as much as I like!

The thought of anything creamy (like Angechica's cravings) absolutely turns my stomach and I'm still aiming for either bland or tomatoey food. My craving for apple tango has diminished - I cracked open a can last night and only drunk 1/4 of it before giving it to DH - its a shame we have another 18 cans in the kitchen!

I'm really bad for starting to eat something, then ending up eating the whole thing - usually they're pretty healthy - but I've eaten entire cucumbers and melons in one sitting!

barristermum · 13/07/2007 16:38

Wow! I was only away 3 days and it's taken nearly an hour to catch up!
Welcome sideways and pinkpetal - sideways - I have been horribly sick lately, tho by the sounds of things not quite as bad as you, and everyone keeps telling me it's the sign of a really healthy bean I think they just make that up as some kind of consolation.
Naetha - glad you are enjoying post-op status and pizza is your friend again. Sorry to read of the stress with your mum - sounds to me as tho' she feels secretly guilty for not being around when you were a kid and is trying to convince you both that it made no difference to how well she understand you or her right to try to control your life!
Housemum you are a legend - that buggy stuff was revelatory, you should be a personal shopper for new mums or something. Have copied and pasted for future reference.
Beller - what's written into a contract really may not matter if practise in the firm is so apparently something else - everyone is right - keep a note of everything and in the meantime have a FAB holiday.
Awen, GREAT dress, looks as tho' wd be really good for work for me too with jkt, may have to invest! Glad your experience with AA was better than mine - when have more time will post a humorous account of the time I broke down in the urban jungle that is Camden at 4am without money and the AA refused to come out to the car as DH was the policy holder and wasn't in the car with me at the time and I couldn't pay to become a member as no cards/money with me. DH cancelled membership the following day. Happy graduation!
Mrs McJnr - great scan, feeling v optimistic for you.
Have lovely weekends girls!

nicky6 · 13/07/2007 16:39

hooray i have just found you.

from the list it looks like we should have quite a lot of scans next week.

Angechica - i have exactly the same concerns as you - and i mean exactly ie the size 12 and the drunk at dh birthday in may - oh well all will be revealed next thursday for me - biggest concern is nothing ther

Ok help me out someone - the elaastic band in trouser thing how does this work??

Also most of my suits have those little metal slidy clips and internal button - i take it doesnt work for those.

Also am in a nice position but dont know what to do when i was at uni 15 years ago i started little (very little) savings plan to pay off my lawyer study fees if i didnt make it - well debts paid off and little package of money coming my way this month.

So instead of being good and puttin in bank thought i would upgrade my car, i have a vw convertible at mo - called betsy and is lovely however dont think she would do child seat/baby thing and no real boot.

So i thought i might get a second hand audi a4 convertible but they are 2 door - my mum says i am off my head and the bending to get child out will be most annoying - but i would reaaly like one - does that count as good reason???

nicky6 · 13/07/2007 16:40

naetha - meant to say - i had an innie had the op and it turned into an outie but did eventually go back to an innie but not quite as innie as before - does that help????????

Naetha · 13/07/2007 17:57

Thats great nicky6 - I wasn't really expecting everything to be the same afterwards tbh! I've just got to make a real effort not to pick my scabs lol! Apologies if TMI!

I'm not sure exactly how the hair band thing works - I'd imagine you loop one end round the button, then maybe make a knot from the other end that fits through the hole? Also I know my stepmum had a trouser-specific hook and eye extender, however she was a bit housewifeish, and I think she made it herself. Anyone here have a sewing machine these days? Interesting to see how times have changed.

As for cars...does it have to be a convertible? If so, could you stretch to a 4-door convertible? I think Mercedes might do one, although I bet it would cost a bomb! Other options to consider are ones like the Vauxhall Astra and Peugeot 307 where they have extended windscreens / clear roofs. I know its not the same as wind in your hair, but it might be practical and fun at the same time

nicky6 · 13/07/2007 20:55

no it doesnt HAVE to be but it would be nice and apparently there are no 4 door convertibles which seems very unfair - if merc do one will be a bit beyond my budget i think, savings plan was only small bit like the bean.

Yes not picking scabs - i am a real picker - really had to restrain myself - was quite good and as a result scars are almost non existent

gingeme · 13/07/2007 21:10

Ok quick question here is anyone getting booby milk yet? My left boob was itchy so I scratched and felt wet. So I had a squeeze and sure enough milk appeared. Never in any of my pregnancies have I got milk this early.
I texted my friend, who is a bf counciler, to see if its ok and she just said brilliant. Good healthy working boobs that explains why theyve been so sensative too

Housemum · 13/07/2007 21:23

According to the Bounty book it's normal from about 16 weeks. Never had it myself (so far) but it is normal!

katyt1 · 13/07/2007 21:28

ooh gingeme, your body def knows what it needs to do!
i started leaking at 5months last time, only stopped bfeeding at the end of may, & had some leaking after that, so reckon i'll have about 4 months 'dry'

all the clothes look lovely, i really think i shd get some good mat clothes this time, didn't spoil myself last time at all.

lovely day here, finally, been sitting outside since ds went to bed, first time this year!

[waves to everyone as rubbish at personals!]

gingeme · 13/07/2007 21:29

But Im only 13 weeks Lots of booby juice for baby then

katyt1 · 13/07/2007 21:35

hope it's a hungry baby then

Naetha · 13/07/2007 21:35

If you want a sports car but not necessarily a convertible, what about a Mazda RX-8? They have rear doors of a sort and are very very very nice

Sorry I'm a bit of a car (and bike) nut :p Me and DH are going for a Mazda 6 when it gets closer to the time and absolutely can't wait
