gingeme · 12/07/2007 21:54

Thanks love

MamaMaiasaura · 12/07/2007 21:56

MrsMcJnr - just read about scan Absolutely over the moon for you. xx

LIlyloo, had already bought dress before car died so will have to keep it. Is very lovely and will do great. My graduation is at 9.30 so reckon I have ot be there for 8. Hope is all done by 12 as ds finishes school for summer at 1. my dress

sabinar · 12/07/2007 22:02

oooh, I like that dress Awen - I can see myself living in black wrap dresses in the v near future

I had a visit from the midwife this evening and had to donate blood for the second time in as many weeks today... can't remember all of the things they're scanning for but it seemed like a lot. Fingers crossed everything comes back alright.

I feel like I'm back at school with this pregnancy caper - so many tests to take... from the scans, to the bloods, to peeing on the stick... it's such a relief to pass each one.

I have to say... I don't see any sign of this second trimester bloom everyone carries on about. When does that kick in?

Hope you're all doing well.

MamaMaiasaura · 12/07/2007 22:12

Dont know about the blooming.. I still am getting spots. Am knackered too.

The dress will hopefully do me for all preg and till I am back to normal size (should be good for breastfeeding too.)

PinkPetal · 12/07/2007 22:18

been here a while, but too suspicious to add myself before now. 13 weeks, nuchal scan and blood test result all good for an older mum2be! Yay!

LilyLoo · 13/07/2007 07:52

mmm beautiful dress Awen will look lovely, if you have a gown you will need somewhere to clip it on at the front so take some safety pins, as it doesn't look like there's a button at the front of the dress. Mine was at 2.30 finished at 4 but was still queing for photo's so didn't get out until gone 5. I got there at 12.30 as well
Hope you have a lovely day.
Sorry Gingeme that was the most recent list i could find.
Welcome PP
Hope everyone else ok today.
I hate not feeling any symptoms and am sure the movements i felt before were wind as they petered off now. Only a very round tummy which isn't very reassuring. Anyone else 'blooming'

plummymummy · 13/07/2007 07:55

Nice dress Awen - hope the graduation goes well. Thanks lilyloo - what did you decide about your dress in the end? Don't let the bullies win - your dress is lovely

LilyLoo · 13/07/2007 07:58

I haven't yet Plummy , but just tried it on this week and it still fits . Am going on her hen do next weekend so was going to ask her about it then.
How are you today ?

plummymummy · 13/07/2007 08:04

Good that it still fits Hope the hen night goes well. My friend is having hers in October so that's something to look forward to especially as I might even be able to drink

Dh went back to work today. Didn't want him to go But meeting ds and I meeting up with my mum later to look at slides (belated bday pressie from her to him)so that will get me out of the house. Otherwise I am in danger of becoming a recluse. In truth I am up and down a lot. I edit my posts a fair bit

Morning everyone. Grey day today but sunshine forecast for weekend. Dh has two parties to go to so a busy one for us. Hope everyone has a nice weekend

plummymummy · 13/07/2007 08:09

Doh - obviously don't edit them for typos! Lilyloo - it's natural to worry that you don't feel any symptoms as you enter the 2nd trimester and if I recall I didn't feel blooming until quite far into the 2nd trimester with ds - eg was still v tired til about 20 weeks. Are there any EPUs where you live if you wanted a reassurance scan? Not that it seems as if anything is wrong at all - but just to put your mind at rest.

LilyLoo · 13/07/2007 09:07

It must be terribly hard Plummy, even thought you can put a brave face on it is bound to be up and down. Thinking of you. And glad you sticking around if it helps.
I know about the parties all weekend it's too tiring to have a social life of your own isn't it ?
Hope he finds a great slide and the weather improves enough for him to use it, take care i am sure your mum will help you through the day whilst he at work.
Thanks for my advice , you really are a star.

beller · 13/07/2007 09:14

Morning...and happy friday!!!
Last day at work for 10 days!!!!!!!!!!! woo-hoo
Awen sorry about you day, glad the AA man was nice though and god luck for the graduation! xx

Naetha- Sounds like a nightmare with you mum, just when you wanted peace and quiet!! Hope you can rest up now and speedy recovery! x

Plummymummy - glad your not in pain, although im sure youre still in emotional pain, you are being outwardly strong and my thoughts are stil with you hugs xxx

Bluebell- I had my tests at 12week scan, but only get my resutlts on monday! . Also called the hospital to say i will be 23 weeks by the time they give me my 20 week scan...and she said its their policy to do it between 22 and 23 weeks

Sabinar - Im waiting for that elusive 2nd
trimester blooming stage!! lets hope its on its way xx

Cant wait to go to LAke Garda Tuesday..get test resluts monday, so will pop on aftre those...fingers crossed all is ok xx

plummymummy · 13/07/2007 10:11

The AA have always been brilliant anytime I have needed them (think they should be called Automobil Angels)

MrsMcJnr · 13/07/2007 11:01

Thanks Lilyloo congratulations on your graduation mine was 11 years ago now what did you graduate in?

Plummy ? glad you have no pain hon of course you are up and down hon our friends on the MC thread are also all rooting for you.

Gingeme

Bluebell ? yippeeeeeeeeeee! by big blood test, I take it you mean the Triple or Quadruple? (only a Double here ) ? I have a MW appointment on 1 August (16+1) and I suspect that that?s when I?ll have the test IF I decide to. We don?t get a Nuchal on the NHS here so DH and I paid £190 for one yesterday. Apparently the Nuchal scan plus bloods HCG and PAPPA-A (or something ? it?s a hormone the baby makes) is 90% accurate as opposed to 60% with the Double Test. Trying to decide whether or not to get the Neural Tube Defect test done though ? there are so many false positives and I think that might really stress me out ? might just leave it, am having an anomaly scan at 24+2 anyway (again, not standard up here). Good luck with it all hon

Awen ? thanks! Congratulations on your graduation, I?m sure you?ll look stunning in your dress

Sabinar ? me too, those dresses would be prefect for work it?s not fun being a pin cushion is it PMSL it is like constantly having to get past hurdles isn?t it? Eagerly awaiting the bloom here too

Yeah Pink Petal

Beller ? maybe a later FA scan is better? More to see? Mine?s at 21 weeks. Hope your last day goes quickly and painlessly

fruitful · 13/07/2007 11:26

Blood tests - I'm supposed to book an appt with the nurse at the surgery to get these done but I can't remember when. And do you think it matters if I don't? I've looked at the list of things they test for and can't see anything I want to know... Is that really naughty? I'm not seeing the midwife till 24 weeks, she'll prob have forgotten all about it by then.

I know my blood group, I can tell when my iron is low without a bloodtest (and am guzzling spatone anyway), I know I'm immune to rubella, I don't want the triple test. I'd have noticed if I'd got hepatitis in the last 3 years wouldn't I? And not done anything to catch it anyway! What else is there?

LilyLoo · 13/07/2007 11:32

Thanks mrsm , english and ed studies. Took slightly longer than i hoped as had my dc's in between, 8 years in total Glad it's over tbh. Wish i had gone to uni when i left college as i def missed out on all the fun stuff doing it whilst working.
Well am just off to Dorothy Perkins, they have got there sale on and i want this top
www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=20552&storeId=12552 &categoryId=68417&parentcategoryrn=51643&productId=325364&langId=-1
but they don't have my size online, good for hiding a bump i thought.

LilyLoo · 13/07/2007 11:33

fruitful, i'm not sure there optional you will prob have them done by the midwife i did at 12 wk scan. You can opt out of triple test though, i have.

MrsMcJnr · 13/07/2007 11:40

Fruitful ? it is a merry go round that?s hard to get off once you start. If your decision would be the same no matter what the situation was then there is a good argument for having no screening tests. I don?t know whether you get one routinely but if not, I?d have a 20 week fetal anomaly scan ? at least then, if there was a problem you?d be alerted to it and could prepare for the birth accordingly for example, if a baby has spina bifida, a C section can help protect it from being injured. As far as the tests for you are concerned, I think they also test for HIV and I can?t remember the others. I suppose the idea is that if you are tested for those things and if you are positive you can be medicated or precautions can be taken to make sure the baby isn?t infected.

Lilyloo ? big achievement nice top

MamaMaiasaura · 13/07/2007 11:45

LilyLoo - will remember safety pins.

Plummy - what part of UK are you in, if local to me & you want to meet up more than welcome. Hope you have got a good amount of time off work atm. Were they aware of you situation?

Beller - 10 days off, how lovely for you Was it your work that was being all funny?

Car fixed - 340 although will do less for cash. Think i still need receipt tho as planning on selling car and want to be able to prove new clutch. Saw ds's leavers assembly today, cried they were all so cute and ds didnt take him eyes off me for the whole time.

plummymummy · 13/07/2007 11:57

Hello. I'm miles from you Awen, but kind offer I live in Surrey and you are in Hampshire (is that right, assume Southampton is in Hampshire). Yes my workplace knew I was pregnant and my boss said to take as much time as I want. I'm probably going to take 2 weeks in total, so go back a week Monday. If it was a regular office environment I probably would've returned next week but I have to consider that I could be restraining someone or doing close observations with a volatile patient on the first day back - not ideal!

MamaMaiasaura · 13/07/2007 12:00

that was what I was thinking about work Plummy. The last thing you need is a situation like that. Yes I am Southampton, Hampshire.
