@AnnieAR I am, but where I live they took a blood sample at my 16 week appointment to see if the baby is negative or positive. If they are I won’t have the injection, of positive I get it at 28 weeks

If anyone is looking a Pacapod bag, their website has 20% off this weekend for Mother's Day. Hmm. Tempted.

@April88 that's interesting! I didn't get that, just spoke to yhe midwife about being Rh neg and she called and booked me the anti-d appointment

KLane · 29/03/2019 12:00

@AnnieAR Me! I had the injection last pregnancy, and when DS was born his blood type was tested from the cord and was positive, so I think he had an injection 24 hours after birth (though it's a bit of a blur, but it wasn't a big deal). I've already got my appt for the injection this time around, I think the first week of June.

Report
KLane · 29/03/2019 12:06

@AnnieAR I think the injection was to do with jaundice as they're more likely to have it with a rhesus negative mother, but he didn't. It was just preventative. It's apparently more of a concern in subsequent pregnancies.

Report
AnnieAR · 29/03/2019 12:34

@KLane mine's booked for 20th June - I got a leaflet on it with my blood results and yeah it isn't likely to affect this pregnancy unless you suffer bleeding or trauma to the abdomen but when baby is born your blood can have the chance to interact which would make you produce the antigens (if baby is positive) which would then attack the next baby if that is positive too!
It's crazy but good that the anti-d can prevent any problems!!

I know I’m Rh -ve from when I’ve given blood in the past but haven’t heard anything from midwife. Will I have it organised at my 16 week appointment next week?

Report
AnnieAR · 29/03/2019 12:58

@Fortheloveofscience mine was organised at my 16 week check up, they should do the same for you but I'd make a not to ask about it just to be sure :)

@AnnieAR that is so reasonable, even my OH (tight yorkshire man) cant complain at that! Hope its nice for you.

Does anyone know when the anxious nervous feeling goes away! I got so anxious today I text me midwife because I just felt different better like I wasn't pregnant anymore and it freaked me out she was so lovely and let me come in and hear the heartbeat which was surprising as I am inky 14 weeks but when does the worrying stop!!!
Anyone would think this is my first its not it's my second! 😂

Report
AnnieAR · 29/03/2019 14:11

@BBell2 yeah, nice price and good reviews so hopefully it's worth it _ will give you an update when it arrives, there are quite a few colour variations of it too as well as other similar ones on amazon and groupon so I'm sure you'll find something suitable!

Funny enough I got a letter from the blood transfusion service through today confirming I'm A neg. I knew I probably would be as DTwin is and had to have injections when she was pregnant. So is DH (A new, not pregnant), funnily enough, so I suppose the baby must be that blood type too? Letter said my midwife would speak to us about it anyway, and any jabs won't be until wk28 or so.

Ordered a Pacapod Grin I got the Saunton which is leatherette one that looks like a handbag but converts to a backpack, £67 with the discount. You can get them cheaper if you skip the pods but I thought they might be handy. And if they're a ball ache I can just take them out and leave them at home.

@AnnieAR
I am rhesus negative! Got my anti D appointment for late June I believe Smile

Report
AnnieAR · 29/03/2019 14:48

@TheCraicDealer if you're both A neg then you probably won't need anti-d as your baby can't have a positive blood group - mention this to your MW - I'll have to have it as I'm O neg and my partner is B pos so our baby could have positive blood group

Ooh that's pricey! I hope it's worth the money for you, have heard some good things about them but they don't seem my style 😂 lucky they had a sale on though, it's amazing the bargains you can find!!

Report
AnnieAR · 29/03/2019 14:50

@MrsCatKins it's nice to find other people in the same boat as it isn't something you hear or think much about prior to pregnancy! My brothers OH had no idea about it even though they've already got a 3yo cause she's positive blood group

Stroan · 29/03/2019 15:56

@thecraicdealer that's a great price for a pacapod. I actually found the pods brilliant to keep me organised and meant I could just grab what I needed instead of taking the whole bag with me.

I have my anti d injection for June too. There’s quite a lot of us!

Report
Fortheloveofscience · 29/03/2019 16:03

@AnnieAR thanks, I’ll make sure I mention it if the midwife doesn’t but I’m sure it’ll be sorted if I need it Smile.

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me jumping on the thread! First time m due September 16th Grin sickness is down to a few tomes a week now thank god!
Anyone else find they had a tender/ sore feeling tummy around this stage? Trying not to worry and putting it down to stretching and growing but as a natural stress head I'm struggling lol

Report
Florencenotflo · 30/03/2019 12:44

@db92 I've had all sorts of weird stretching and twinges throughout. Especially if I overstretch or cough!

I've got a date for my anomaly scan, 11th April! Can not believe im nearly half way! DH freaking out now slightly about getting Dd a new bed, moving her cot out, finding the bits for the pram etc 😂 it's quite funny really. He keeps telling me there's ages yet...

I've had lots of stretching and aches/pains in my tummy.

Had a new thing the last two nights though - I can't lay on my right side without my tummy hurting! Started having a bad dream about a pain in my tummy and miscarrying and woke up on my right realising it actually did hurt.
Soon passed when I laid on my left but it's been 2 nights now and I can't stay on the right.

Am I weird or has anyone else found some positions uncomfortable?

Report
AnnieAR · 30/03/2019 15:09

I'n finding most positions uncomfy for sleeping, on my left is best but can lay on my right for a while before I have to turn again!

It's crazy how close to halfway I am, my OH is still saying 'it's almost half a year til we need any of that stuff!' 😂😂

Report
Megan2018 · 30/03/2019 16:50

I had stretching pain early on but nothing recent. Sleeping still ok, apart from my shoulders-really struggling with rotator cuff pain but thats not pg related!

We are still in the camp of not looking at anything to buy until we have next scan-its not stopped me doing a bit of online browsing but we decided no conversation about purchases or actually looking until we reach that milestone which is just under a month for us.
I’m sure once we start though we’ll have got it all within a couple of weeks! I have a working list.
