September Babies Thread #5 - we're a chatty bunch
boodles101 · 06/04/2019 07:58

Congrats maddie another girl in the group!
I'm on the hen do, absolutely shattered already and could just easily lay in bed all day. DS is at home with DH but spent all night being sick so guessing he has caught a bug too. But DH has never dealt with that before so interested to see how he manages. And also glad that I've avoided it!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/04/2019 08:08

Congratulations maddie, 12 days til we found out

So yesterday i decided to order the accessories (footmuff bag etc) for the pram i want if we have a girl just incase the few places still selling them sold out. Anyway. They have already sold out. Shock

Nevermind. Shit happens i suppose.

I feel like death warmed up today. Sore throat, headache, ear ache and i have been sick. Lovely

18 + 2

kyles101 · 06/04/2019 08:43

Congrats maddie 💗**

Ivegot maybe it's a sign oooh!!

Urgh boodles sober hen do... although on the plus side think of that awful wine flu you're swerving! Bless dh looking after poorly little one, I bet the way he deals with things aren't the way you would have but still gets dealt with regardless.

Being lazy and haven't actually got out of bed yet - oh well did to let the dog out but then we both got back into bed. Need to get a birthday pressie for my dad today... any ideas?

18 weeks today!

boodles101 · 06/04/2019 09:22

kyles yes happily avoiding a hangover as I'm usually the one to throw up on hen dos. But here with my best mate who's 2 weeks behind me in pregnancy, so at least I'm not the only sober one!

Moraxella · 06/04/2019 10:30

@IVEgottheDECAF I was gutted that a 2nd hand pram I had arranged to buy and collect the following day was sold to someone else - but at least you still have your money etc, and stuff happens for a reason.

Morning sickness is back, vommed three times then went to park run and got a PB (since being pregnant) WOOP!

Hsunshine · 06/04/2019 12:01

@ivegotthddecaf take it as a sign. I saw a new icandy orange for £415, whilst I was still looking at someone else literally took it and brought it. The next day I found out it wouldn’t have fitted in my car anyway so that would’ve been a big mistake buying it
I am sick too so I feel your pain

Megan2018 · 06/04/2019 12:02

Feeling really good this past 2 days! Hope this lasts! Had the energy to ride after work last night and this morning we had a proper gallop. That always makes me feel better.
Still throwing up when brushing teeth but apart from that we are feeling ace!

TwittleBee · 06/04/2019 12:12

Yeah I'm feeling a lot perkier too now actually! Still sicky in the morning but weight is finally sticking on me!

Told our parents yesterday and telling my grandparents today that we have a boy on the way! Very exciting.

Also had 16 week MW appointment. I have a different MW now. Anyway she said I won't be under consuktant despite having PPROM with DS as it's unlikely to happen again so yay!

BBell2 · 06/04/2019 13:24

@boodles I feel for you on a hen do, ive a couple this summer and went to a couple last pregnancy, one was my best mate and I didn't really want to be there - I was still in a set determination I would attend every minute of it, sat through other people enjoying go-ape busting constantly for a wee!

My OH is back home after weeks away training, Im more pleased than I thought (he still didnt ask how I or bump am which is annoying)...I still have insomnia but at least had a few hours lay in this morning while DD jumped on his head at 6am instead of mine. Grin

I finally told my boss this week (15wks) he was very pleased for me, instantly said we need to lock down my promotion, if it were down to him I think it would have been done months back but sadly it isnt and I dont hold out much hope. Cant tell anyone else though, how weird, I seem to have kept my mouth shut so long im finding it strange saying it out loud!

Jennylou88 · 06/04/2019 19:13

Hey ladies! Is anyone else in maternity clothes yet? I'm 16+5 with my first and considering making the switch! X

TwittleBee · 06/04/2019 19:46

I think a few are Jennylou88 !

I was in them but switched back since losing all the bloat (16+4 here). Feels like there's too much room on the belt areas for most mat clothes and my usualy clothes are kinda loose anyway.

maddiecxx · 06/04/2019 20:10

Thank you everyone 💗💗

kyles101 · 06/04/2019 20:12

Jennylou I think I was about 13 weeks 😂 only in trousers though, most tops are still fine.

I definitely need to change the way I bend down for things now, definite rock hard bump when I properly bend in half, and it does hurt quite a bit... must be more mindful! What do you do squat? A semi lunge? 🤷‍♀️

KnobJockey · 06/04/2019 20:33

Jennylou, I'm also 16+5 and I've not fitted in normal clothes for weeks 😁 if you're not ready to make the switch fully- if jeans are too scary,- then find some comfy maternity leggings and wear with dresses.

KnobJockey · 06/04/2019 20:35

Kyles, I'm also struggling with that- the bump gets in the bloody way! I'm trying to crouch if it's practical.

DustyDoorframes · 06/04/2019 20:59

Yeah I think some of us repeat offenders were in mat clothes before 12 weeks... with DC1 I reckon it was about 16 weeks, and just mat leggings under existing dresses, and a belly band from jojo to make normal trousers work.

Stroan · 06/04/2019 21:52

Yup, I wore maternity jeans to my 12 week scan. At 18+4, I'm almost as big as my friend who is due next week.

Had a week long spell of feeling a tiny bit better but the nausea is back with a vengeance. I cried today because I'm so tired and fed up of feeling crap. And DH sent DD in to ask if she could nap with me when I'd only just managed to fall asleep.

OP posts:
JE87 · 06/04/2019 22:04

I am 17+4 and I've worn them but I do find they are a bit big but I can't fit in my normal ones! It's that awkward stage!

IVEgottheDECAF · 07/04/2019 07:44

18+3 and mostly in mat clothes

I have some nice loose fitting non maternity blouses from h&m that i had thought would last a while for work with maternity leggings. However they are already riding up too much at the front so there goes that plan.

Megan2018 · 07/04/2019 08:33

I’ve been wearing some, been riding in mat jeans but they are a bit big still. Normal jeans don’t fit.
But normal tops and dresses still ok.
I think by 20wks I’ll have to abandon them though (17+3).

db92 · 07/04/2019 09:35

I'm in maternity jeans and have been for a few weeks now. My normal tops and dresses seem fine for now but not sure how long that'll last

TwittleBee · 07/04/2019 12:37

I've actually just went and bought 2 jeans and shorts for £35 in total from H&M sale. All mat stuff obviously. Can see me wearing them by end of this week as they don't seem as loose as my very worn mat stuff

Megan2018 · 07/04/2019 17:20

Apparently I’m waddling Grin
My yard owner said she watched me walk across the yard earlier and I had the unmistakable pregnancy gait. Doh!
Backache today too, had a busy morning with horse and then a mammoth clean out of the chicken coop. Spending the rest of the day on the sofa eating Easter Egg (I know its too early!)

Oh and DH has been doing his own pushchair research and has announced that we need the Uppababy Vista (which allegedly fits in my car). I think its too many £ but we’ll see.

AnnieAR · 07/04/2019 17:56

@Megan2018 look at the mothercare orb all terrain, on offer and really nice quality and easy to push - fits in a 05 ford fiesta boot :)
