Hi all,

Is it ok if I join? I'm 31 weeks and due on 17th August with a boy. This will be my first baby but I had 3 miscarriages before this so I'm still reluctant to get too excited and still worry something will go wrong. Only just starting to feel real now that we've brought some baby bits into the house! Would love to join the facebook group as well if that's still possible?

How is everyone else doing? Everyone keeps moaning about the weather but I'm secretly hoping it stays like this until September. Not looking forward to giving birth in the heat!

Kathryn19 · 19/06/2019 18:14

@misstime congratulations!! I can only imagine how amazing but scary it feels after your losses. And welcome also Smile

I totally agree on the weather! Dreading any mini heatwaves

ScotsBaby2 · 19/06/2019 19:35

@Kathryn19 congratulations and welcome. So sorry for your loses.

@misstime sorry to hear about your losses.

I've been the same over the weather. Just hope it's nothing like last year. Although I get an amazing tan quickly when I'm pregnant for some reason.

I've been in work since 7:30, finished at 4:30 came home and scrubbed the house ready for the bin men tomorrow. Hope this energy lasts before the morning sickness comes again tomorrow 😬.

sacrecoeur0712 · 21/06/2019 13:22

Hi all, hope everyone is feeling ok. I'm really starting to suffer with back pain - is anyone using a maternity support belt? Does it help?

Spongeb0b · 23/06/2019 08:38

Hi! I was on here originally but I had weeks and weeks of such bad sickness that I could not face looking at a phone screen it gave me motion sickness 😂 due August 23rd but just been signed off for a couple of weeks with suspected premature rupture of membranes. Anyone else have experience of this? Xx

Spongeb0b · 23/06/2019 08:39

@Kathryn19 I think we have the same due date!

Kathryn19 · 23/06/2019 09:22

@Spongeb0b oooh yes we do! Hello due date buddy Smile
Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time of it.. afraid I've no experience of that- haven't even heard of it to be honest

Spongeb0b · 23/06/2019 09:44

It just means your waters have started to leak @Kathryn19 hoping he hangs on a bit longer!!!

Kathryn19 · 23/06/2019 09:54

Ooooh I see! @Spongeb0b - sorry I should have been able to figure that out!
The fb group does have one or two people with some fluid leakage I think. Hope your baby stays where he is for a little while yet! Sounds like they can do well for quite a while even with low or no fluids .. which I never knew until joining this group and hearing people's experiences!

Spongeb0b · 23/06/2019 16:00

Ahh I'm not on fb or I would join. Yeah hopefully this one is doing ok in there despite the low fluid levels will know more at next scan. Xx

Kathryn19 · 23/06/2019 16:32

Fingers crossed for you @Spongeb0b - when is the scan?

Spongeb0b · 23/06/2019 18:15

Thanks @kathryn19 it's on Thursday. How are you enjoying being 31 weeks - I am sooo knackered! And feel huge but he was only measured at 3.5lbs last week so it can't all be baby! Blush

Jokie · 23/06/2019 19:51

Hey all!

Busy few weeks for me but only 2 weeks of work left.

@misstime: welcome to the thread and I'm sorry for your losses x

Kathryn19 · 23/06/2019 20:27

@Spongeb0b not too long to wait at least.. will think of you! I am feeling pretty big too can't lie, and getting quite achy! In the back in particular. I guess even if that isn't technically that big, combined with the other weight of the placenta and fluid etc it is quite a lot to be concentrated on your front! Feel like I'm still in my more enjoyable phase of pregnancy though... 16 - 23 weeks ish was a good time and then my blood pressure dropped and I felt wrecked, but the last couple of weeks have been much better :) how are you feeling, the fluid worries aside?

Spongeb0b · 23/06/2019 20:47

I feel absolutely huge this time around @kathryn19 I was tiny with my first, had horrendous sickness all the way through but otherwise felt physically well. This time the sickness only lasted until around 20 weeks but I am way bigger & breathless, with backache, heartburn etc. It seems it gets us all one way or another Grin this is definitely going to be my last, I can't wait to get my body back to (semi!) normal. Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl? Its another boy for me!

Kathryn19 · 23/06/2019 20:55

@Spongeb0b Ahhh second baby must make such a huge difference though! I don't actually look super big - everyone keeps telling me I'm small - but I don't feel that way haha!!! But it is my first. And a girl. So crazy!!! Is your first excited for a brother??

Spongeb0b · 25/06/2019 09:08

Ah congrats @kathryn19 he's excited one minute then very indifferent the next, I'm not sure he thinks it's real Grin

misstime · 25/06/2019 17:36

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Really starting to get excited now the big day is inching closer!

Is anyone else worried about the size of their bump? Every time someone mentions how tiny I am I find it really stressful! But bump seems to always be measuring about right at midwife/GP. Anyone else still got a smallish bump at 32 weeks?

@ScotsBaby2 Do I need to send you a PM to join the FB group?

Kathryn19 · 25/06/2019 19:09

@Spongeb0b aaah it must be hard for him to really understand, I find it hard enough myself..!

@misstime I'm not tiny but small enough for people to comment and I find it irritating (31+4). My GP and the consultant did decide I was small enough for a growth scan which was a okay and she's actually pretty chunky. A couple of others in the fb group have very neat bumps and similar experiences. Also loads of people measuring ahead or behind and having scans, but generally all been okay Smile I'm sure your bump is absolutely perfect for your baby and your body!

Spongeb0b · 25/06/2019 19:56

@misstime and @kathryn19 with my first I was absolutely tiny & had to have growth scans - he came out measuring a very healthy 7lb 8oz after them saying he would be lucky to be 6lbs. I used to worry myself sick about it and people commenting. This time I'm having growth scans for measuring too big & people keep saying I look massive 😂 it seems we can't win whatever happens! What I will say is I felt loads fitter & healthier with a smaller bump - this time round I'm breathless just climbing the stairs. So ignore the probably jealous comments & enjoy your neat little bumps I say Wink

Kathryn19 · 25/06/2019 20:43

@Spongeb0b people just seem desperate to comment don't they! I get they are trying to be interested... but I am still a regular human, you can talk to me normally still! Hmm someone said today "oh you are showing now!" and I really had no response to that.. I mean I'd expect so at more than 7 months!

ScotsBaby2 · 25/06/2019 20:50

Hi @misstime yeah if you send me an email, I will give you details of my Facebook. Facebook have changed the rules so you would need to friend me, I add you then you defriend me (I hope that makes sense).

OP posts:
ScotsBaby2 · 25/06/2019 20:51

@misstime I meant send me a pm

OP posts:
ScotsBaby2 · 25/06/2019 20:54

I had people commenting on bump first time round about being "neat" and this time I've had "oh I didn't realise you were pregnant" followed an hour later by someone else saying "wow that's a huge bump for 6 months".

I'm pretty rude to people and say I would rather you didn't comment on my size thank you. Or I might have to punch you if you comment on how huge I am. Obviously in a jokey, passive aggressive way! It pisses me off.
