New thread!

Sorry, don't know if someone else was planning to do this. Just noticed how close we were to being cut off on the last thread.

Hi all just a quickie, I seem to have a pain after I wee, it only last for seconds, I noticed it in the mornings but it does happen sometimes during the day, it’s like a stitch. I thought about uti but I don’t have any other symptoms that I associate with a uti and it passes quickly. Any thoughts, perhaps I’ll text midwife tomo?

Yukka · 16/03/2019 16:36

Just been reading back a few posts @aide2424 you’re growth chart is spot on if you could see baby s/he would have s big round tummy based on your numbers :) mines got a big head and long legs... but it all works itself out. It was a bit scary to think at 20w they weigh almost a pound... so we’ve got another 5-8 pounds to go. Yikes.

I had whooping cough jab on Thursday the jab didnt hurt but it goes into muscle so my arms been a bit sore/achy. Nearly back to normal now.

AIDE2424 · 16/03/2019 17:36

@Yukka she had a big belly! She’s gonna be a little chunk I think ❤️

StargazyDrifter · 16/03/2019 19:01

Yukka not sure about the pain bit, but agree it doesn't sound like a UTI to me either. I had a load of questions to rule out a UTI recently and this doesn't seem to match. Hope it goes soon!

Capybaras · 16/03/2019 19:31

Ah I knew it was someone @StargazyDrifter been really uncomfortable all day!
No idea what that is @Yukka but definitely doesn't hurt to ask your midwife!

Morning all!
OH and I were away for an overnight last night to celebrate my 30th! We're In a lovely hotel just the 2 of us. So nice to get away but I slept terribly ! We're both awake at 5am eating sweets in bed watching TV 😂

And we got engaged last night! Can't believe it , thought it was never going to happen lol. Also baby did a few proper big kicks last night , first time feeling them from the outside. Such a lovely weekend 😊

twickersmumtobe · 17/03/2019 07:06

@ReginaPhalange89 congratulations, what an amazing birthday celebration, even if you didn't get much sleep that's lovely news. Enjoy the rest of your time away 🥳😊

@ReginaPhalange89 congratulations! Yes how did he do it?

Don't want to spoil the moment but did anyone go to any of the baby shows at the excel in London? Alex are going to the nec Birmingham in March .. if you did go what did you think any good offers? Freebies?

thedust · 17/03/2019 10:00

Such lovely news @ReginaPhalange!

@TwinkleDay I'm off to the baby & toddler show in Manchester today, I think that might be different to the baby show though? I'll let you know what the discounts are like, we're hoping to choose our pram today. I know that the joolz day is my favourite but DH wants to look at Cybex prams too.

BeckyButterfly · 17/03/2019 10:33

Jxtina86 · 17/03/2019 13:42

Congrats @ReginaPhalange89!

AIDE2424 · 17/03/2019 18:16

16 hour shifts at work are killing me 😩 I then do the sleep at work too which doesn’t help! Can’t wait to finish on annual leave 8th June then maternity begins 12th July 🙌

DianaBlythe · 17/03/2019 23:25

Congratulations @ReginaPhalange! Lovely news! Sounds like we’ve had loads of admissions to assessment units so nice to have some good news and hope everyone is OK.

Went in yesterday with bleeding and reduced movements. They were really lovely and all seems fine. Bleeding stopped and baby woke up and I felt a bit of a fraud. Looks like baby got over excited and knocked a little blood vessel or something. They got the Doppler on to listen to baby really quickly and scanned me as well. I think it seems they take it all a lot more seriously after you hit that magical 24 weeks!

StargazyDrifter · 17/03/2019 23:43

Diana glad all was ok, must have been so worrying. I hit 24 weeks today too and DH and I had a little moment. Seems like a big milestone.

TwinkleDay · 18/03/2019 07:11

@AIDE2424 those shifts sound horrible however I also finish work on 7th of june, Mat leave starts 16th :) only another 38 more days to work as using up holiday for shorter weeks when I come back from sunny wales x

AIDE2424 · 18/03/2019 07:28

@twinkleday I can’t wait, I have 20 days of annual leave in April, and then only have May to work before I’m off. Hope you enjoy your time away!

Jxtina86 · 18/03/2019 07:33

@DianaBlythe glad all is okay! I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and it feels like such a relief to get there and know things will be taken seriously as you say.

Went pram shopping yesterday in our local Mothercare (one that isn't shutting down) and think we've decided, but just need to mull it over to be sure. However had a little incident whilst we were chatting to a sales assistant - started to feel really faint and had to sit down and ask for water. DH said the colour just drained from my face 🙈 I think I was just really hot but it's been the first time I've felt that like all pregnancy so now taking precautions and armed with snacks and water at all times! Can't fault the Mothercare staff though- they were very kind and understanding (Which made me feel even more embarrassed!!)
