New thread!

Sorry, don't know if someone else was planning to do this. Just noticed how close we were to being cut off on the last thread.

Yes to those who have said their hips ache. Many mornings I'm up at 5 because it's too painful to keep lying down and sleeping. Which is frustrating because I could really do with more sleep!

Also getting a bit constipated now, which is fun. Need to make sure I eat the right things to keep everything moving. So glamourous.....

@blueeyedviking, that's utter crap! I know lots of companies don't have an official TOIL policy, but surely they can use their discretion on occasions. You must be exhausted :(

God you lot have hardly put anything on.... I've put on a stone already since booking in 🙈 and I'd already put on a few lbs before that too 🙈 ive not stopped eating since my bfp , I had no sickness this time either which hasn't helped haha.

FuzzyPixel · 11/03/2019 20:15

@Chinks123 we ordered our pram today too! Very exciting that it's done!

@Capybaras, I'm another one who is envious of your spare room. All of our bedrooms are on a schedule of redecorating, and we're losing our fourth bedroom to become a dressing room because we're moving into the second bedroom - that way the baby will have the biggest room (and the one with the best 'fire escape' wide opening window out of the four!). We're having to store baby things in our dining room/study through room, which is making the place look messy. I have to keep the faith that everything will be back to normal once the bedrooms are finished!

FuzzyPixel · 11/03/2019 20:16

@ReginaPhalange89 I am certain I've put lots of weight on, haha. I just don't want to weigh myself and acknowledge it! Blush

Toria73 · 11/03/2019 20:20

Evening, does anyone else’s wee one(s) get really lively when certain songs/bands are playing? Not sure if it’s one or both but mine go mental for AC/DC & Gerry Cinnamon’s Belter.

Giraffe888 · 11/03/2019 20:28

I lost 5lbs in the first few weeks of pregnancy. I’ve put it back on along with another 2lb so I’m only actually 2lb heavier than when I got pregnant.

DH has put a new floor down in the dining room today. We moved into our house last Sept so doing bit by bit! The nursery is half stripped of old wallpaper so next job is to complete that.

I’m in agony again with my back/bum 🙁 had whooping cough jab this morning, arm only aching very slightly x

StargazyDrifter · 11/03/2019 20:48

This was the calculator, here:

stephn88 · 11/03/2019 20:50

Had my whooping cough jab last week, arm was fine that day, was sore to raise it the next couple of days though Confused

Chinks123 · 11/03/2019 20:51

It is exciting @FuzzyPixel! I’m just so impulsive. I decided which pram I wanted and ordered it straight away..I haven’t even shown it to dp Grin He doesn’t get involved in any purchases though, just gives me a budget and prefers not to get involved. If I ask his opinion I just get “that’s nice” to every one.

blueeyedviking · 11/03/2019 20:58

@rookangeroo Yes im pretty tired! My manager isnt the best im afraid..

Ive put on 3.5kg i think. My BMi was fine when i weighed in so sounds about right then.

FuzzyPixel · 11/03/2019 21:01

Ahh @Chinks123, I wish I could be impulsive - that sounds so great to be able to order it straight away. I end up over-researching a lot and agonising over decisions, even the little ones. DH here likes to be involved, but tends to give me 'executive decision ability' (because realistically, whilst on maternity, I'm likely to use things more), which makes me laugh. Which pram did you end up going for? Smile

Chinks123 · 11/03/2019 21:15

@FuzzyPixel I always have to make snap decisions, dp didn’t even view the house we bought! He just tells me to go look and decide (which I would never let him do!) He says he trusts my judgement but he’s just really lazy with decisions.

We (I) went for the silver cross wayfarer Chelsea exclusive. I just loved the look of it. What have you gone for?

FuzzyPixel · 11/03/2019 21:31

Wow! I can't imagine not viewing the house! I have perfectionist tendencies (to the point that I had CBT!) so I am very much an over-worrier about decisions, I literally had CBT on how to make decisions quicker rather than agonising 45 minutes over picking which take-away to order from. I'm a bit better now, but bigger decisions tend to hit me a little. Although sometimes, I do revert to asking DH to make the choice because I just can't do it. It's great that your DP trusts your decision making (even if it comes from laziness!)

The Silver Cross Wayferer in the Chelsea Exclusive looks like a classic. It's beautiful and I love Silver Cross prams. The Silver Cross Wave was one of the ones we eyed up for a long time. We ended up going for the iCandy Peach in Dove Grey on a Phantom chassis. I think we'd been to 'play' (research) it four or five times, and it just felt right for us. I was really pleased because the owners of the shop threw in a free DuoPod for it! It's one of the decisions I'm relieved has been made, and it has now been crossed off the spreadsheet.

Chinks123 · 11/03/2019 21:46

I do wish he would make decisions, but on the plus side he can’t whinge when he doesn’t like the hotel we stay in for example. He never knows where we’re going, everything’s a surprise-I couldn’t cope with it!!

Aw Thankyou I’m glad you think it’s a classic, I liked the brown handle and just thought it looked smart. Probably won’t last long! Ooh I haven’t seen the icandy peach I’ll go have a google Smile I haven’t seen a Duopod either, I have a lot to learn none of this stuff was around when I had dd!

FuzzyPixel · 11/03/2019 22:09

@Chinks123 - I am with you, I definitely couldn't cope with everything always being a surprise!

I definitely think it looks like a classic, I don't think it will date easily. Smile The duopod is just the seat liner/footmuff combo for the pram we have chosen; they're usually about £130, so I was really grateful when they included for free!

Chinks123 · 11/03/2019 22:25

@FuzzyPixel Yes had to google and find out it was a footmuff haha it looks beautiful! I love the grey, sorry I can’t remember if you know what you’re having, but they look lovely for boys and girls I think. They’re not cheap these prams are they, my favourite thing to buy though.

StargazyDrifter · 11/03/2019 23:51

Chinks123 I also got the SilverCross Wayfarer and it's already been delivered. Like you, I must have it once I've bought it!

I'm another over-researcher, it's proving quite tricky to choose things! DH and I bought a few basics online tonight - a few plain white sleepsuits and t-shirt vest things, some muslins, some blankets, a steriliser and things like that. He was a bit bored and I didn't like having to choose quickly, even the plain white stuff! 🙈 Feels better to have ordered some essentials. What he doesn't know is that I'm going to spend hours researching the next batch of purchases!

Toria we tired loud music on Sunday, with a low beat as supposedly they hear that first, but she didn't budge. However as soon as I drink cold water or eat an ice cream she's off! Also seems to be partial to apples... perhaps it's the sugar.

TwinkleDay · 12/03/2019 07:28

Aww @Toria73 my little one goes berserk at them turbo hand dryers and the food blender for my smoothies... I now do not use the turbo hand dryer... lol be warned ladies

TwinkleDay · 12/03/2019 07:30

I managed to sleep through these nights so far but OH just gets concerned and hears my groaning from hip arse pain

ReginaPhalange89 · 12/03/2019 08:42

Morning !
Sat outside the hospital way too early for my scan haha . I'm super early for everything 🙈 at least I'm getting peace for doing the school run this morning !
On the pram/travel system note - we bought a second hand double icandy a couple of weeks ago and it's still sitting in our Hall 🙈 don't know what to do with it ! Scared to put it in the loft because it's not boxed !

HchyScott · 12/03/2019 10:14

My god, you lot have got me worried you’ve hardly put on anything and I’ve put on 1.2 stone!! 😳😳😳😳 im still a good bmi but I ought to be abit more careful.
I havent been eating the healthiest and I’ve got the end of this week off on annual leave so next week I’m going to try and be a lot more balanced in my food choices.

Capybaras · 12/03/2019 13:57

Don't worry @HchyScott weighed this morning and put 1kg on in a week! Probably all the Haagen-Dazs/Ben and Jerry's I've been eating!

How high up are people feeling kicks? Been having quite a few today which feel really high- quite a bit above my belly button! I thought the uterus wouldn't be this high at this stage (23weeks). Although I was told at my 16 week appointment that I had a big uterus Grin so maybe I'm going up into the torso rather than out (May explain the lack of bump too!).

Jxtina86 · 12/03/2019 14:32

@Capybaras mine are bit of a mix - occasionally high but mostly low or to the side. Had a few recently where I had my arm across my bump and the kick was so hard my arm moved...! I thought I'd be weirded out by the movements but I love it - I will really miss it when July comes (I blame the hormones but I actually cried at the thought the other day... 🙈)

Capybaras · 12/03/2019 16:57

That's crazy it made your arm move! I've seen a few kicks now which is really odd!

I looked at fundal height charts and where I felt the kicks suggested I was plus 30 weeks - definitely not. Must have been how I was sitting or something, very odd!

I hate that you can't take any of the good stuff for a cold during pregnancy - my sinuses are screaming out for decongestant! I won't miss this part of pregnancy, but otherwise I've been really lucky and loved being pregnant so far!

Trying2bemum · 12/03/2019 17:41

My kicks are really low. I was just thinking today that I'll miss them after the baby comes. It's such a lovely feeling
