New thread!

Sorry, don't know if someone else was planning to do this. Just noticed how close we were to being cut off on the last thread.

@Twinkleday Me!! It's so annoying... I don't have a pillow yet but tried a friend's the other day but didn't really like it. I thought maybe I just wasn't big enough yet.

HchyScott · 10/03/2019 09:03

@TwinkleDay yep! Makes my hips sore and achy, i wedge myself in between two pillows but it’s still uncomfortable. I can’t help wondering how on Earth I’m going to sleep in the later stages!!

AIDE2424 · 10/03/2019 09:38

@Twinkleday I toss and turn all night and even with my pillow im finding myself waking up on my belly and my back.

twickersmumtobe · 10/03/2019 16:57

@TwinkleDay yep me too, my hips are so painful some days the pain wakes me.

Capybaras · 10/03/2019 19:06

I've been sleeping terribly the last few days. Got a cold, and seen to be waking up around 3ish most nights with what I hope isn't pregnancy insomnia. Doesn't help that my hips start to ache after a while so constantly tossing and turning - DH hates me Grin
Feel like my belly button is starting to get wider and shallower too despite feeling like a I haven't got a 'proper' bump yet. Still a bit freaked out at the possibility of it turning innie to outie!
Just ordered a few more bits from m&s with their sale preview - are people buying newborn sizes? I've got one thing that size as I'm assuming I'll be having a heifer as I'm not petite in any way (although I know it doesn't necessarily work that way!).

AnnaBegins · 10/03/2019 19:34

From last time i remember a pillow between the legs helped with aching hips and legs at night.

We're off on holiday to the middle East in 2 weeks and I was worried I wouldn't have enough suitably modest maternity wear, turns out I definitely will as apparently I bought about a million maternity/nursing dresses last time! Just hoping they're not too low cut.

Scan went well (after being sent away to make baby move out of my pelvis) and still team yellow.

blueeyedviking · 11/03/2019 07:52

Morning all. I hope you slept better last night. I worked a full day yesterday, and on my feet, so was knackered when I went to bed.

We don't have overtime at work, but I've worked probably 150-200 extra hours since Christmas for a specific project. Yesterday was the last day of the launch period so I worked a full day. And just found out that I don't get any time in lieu, not even half a day for yesterday. Absolutely ridiculous. HR says it's up to the line manager, but he is saying no. I just can't believe as a human being you wouldnt even be a bit generous with it as a way or saying thank you..

Capybaras · 11/03/2019 08:18

That's crap to say the least @blueeyedviking especially after all your hard work. I had a job where similar happened so it got to a point where I went in, did my 9-5 and then left. Couldn't give a rats arse what else needed to be done. Makes you feel so unappreciated especially when you've been giving it your all.
Glad it's all done for you now though, and hopefully can have a quieter last few months until mat leave.
Can't believe it's pretty much mid-March! Time is flying although it still seems like July is ages away!

Trying2bemum · 11/03/2019 08:33

@TwinkleDay I am tossing and turning all night 😫 so uncomfortable! Hips are fine - I use pillows between my legs, but my back all the way down hurts and my rib cage last night was really hurting?!

cravingmilkshake · 11/03/2019 08:55

Morning ladies. Since I've found out in November, I have had one full night sleep. Waking up at 3/4 every morning and managing to get back off at 6 for an hour.

On the upside though, I am 21 weeks and 1 day and every night when I sit on the sofa, she is moving and this morning I woke up to an almighty thump and a couple of nudes at 6:30 and enjoyed it for 30 mins in bed this morning x

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/03/2019 09:35

@blueeyedviking that's terrible ! Bad enough you don't get over time but you'd think they'd at least give you some time back for your hard work ! I'd do the absolute bare minimum from now on , not a minute extra ! Fuck them !

How is everyone ? I'm 21 weeks today, it's flying ! Have a re scan tomorrow morning and quite looking forward to seeing baby again, probably only be 5 mins though as they only had one thing left to check. Considering asking her to triple check the sex after the panic she gave us last week 🙈

Going to start tracking what I'm eating again from today , already put on over a stone and I'm feeling it everywhere, so definitely not all pregnancy related 🙈 feel like a whale

StargazyDrifter · 11/03/2019 09:47

blueeyedviking that's horrible. If you feel even a hint tired I'd take a couple of sick days, and not give it a second thought. Being run down is no good for you or the baby. No one can argue with that. Pregnancy sickness is treated differently to ordinary sickness.

Regina exciting you'll see the little one again! I'd stick with the sex from the NIPT (pretty sure you had one?) as that's genetic and far more accurate than a scan.

Trying2bemum I have awful rib pain too, on the left, it's horrible. But apparently very normal, at least in my case. 🤔

I feel like the baby is moving a lot more now. At 23+1 and I'm aware of the times of day she's likely to be more active. However I'd hestate to call the movements a pattern yet.

Feeling kind of anxious today, but for no real reason. Ugh.

BeckyButterfly · 11/03/2019 11:33

Morning all 🙂

I woke up with a stonking migraine this morning so still haven’t made it into work yet. Just lying in bed contemplating whether or not to even bother at this point. I feel so groggy 😩

Trying2bemum · 11/03/2019 16:29

@cravingmilkshake I'm exactly the same ! Since BFP I don't think I've had a single unbroken nights sleep. I have to get up at 3/4 to wee and don't get back to sleep until 5-6am. I am so tired allllllllll the time!!

@StargazyDrifter I had an anxious day yesterday - not sure why either, I think baby was a bit quieter. I am looking forward to more regular movement as currently it's pretty sporadic

blueeyedviking · 11/03/2019 17:42

Thanks for all your outrage Grin Its good to know I'm not overreacting. I've got a few days of this week so that will help. But yes, if exhaustion kicks in I'll get signed off without doubt. Trying to think that in only 3months I'll be off on maternity leave anyway.

@stargazydrifter & @tryingtobemum - I was anxious at the weekend too. I think it was a combo of less movement and also the realisation that I'm due in only 4 months..

Can I ask how much weight people have put on? I didn't eat a lot in my first trimester as so sick and now I just don't have much of an appetite.. I've got a proper bump now though but people have commented I'm still slim. I'm not complaining just not sure how much you are supposed to have gained in week 23? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Capybaras · 11/03/2019 17:55

I've put on 2.5kg so around 5lbs so far, but I did lose around half a stone in the first trimester through lack of appetite so actually piling it on in second tri! I'm 22+6 and overweight so think recommended is up to 9kg for me maybe? Can't stop eating/snacking now so I'm hoping I won't continue to pile it on!

What about you?

Capybaras · 11/03/2019 17:56

I still haven't got much of a bump yet either, although am showing in tight clothing so worries when I pop all hell will break loose!

FuzzyPixel · 11/03/2019 18:38

Hey all, lots of movement on the thread this weekend! I haven't quite caught up because I was away and don't tend to keep my phone with me often.

Another one here with bad hip pain. I think I have some PGP/SPD, it can be mega painful some days, and fine the next. We did a lot of walking around this weekend on the Saturday, so I had to take it easy on the Sunday.

Also struggling with sleep. I tend to wake up at 3ish as well, but not for longer than an hour. My DM kindly said 'think of it as a way of your body preparing you for your baby waking up for feeds'.

@blueeyeddiving, I haven't weighed myself since my booking in appointment - I feel huge so the thought of stepping onto the scales gives me a bit of stress! DH is being really sweet at reassuring me that I'm growing a baby, and I've had lots of 'cute little bump' comments, but it doesn't stop me from feeling massive.

It's all moving ahead here. We have a new floor being fitted in one of our rooms this week, which should help push the decorating along a little. We went shopping today and ticked a few of the big tickets items of our list, which I'm really pleased with. It felt a bit anxiety inducing at first to be committing to things, but it feels like a massive relief now. The shop that we bought it from is a lovely local family run business, so they were very generous (threw in a few freebies!) and very helpful. We'll happily be going back. I think all in all, we've saved about 15%.

Has anyone picked their car seat yet? It's a complete minefield. There's so much information out there. We're eyeing up the Cybex Cloud Z, and the Zirona Z with the Base Z which rotates but... we're not sure if they're right for us at this stage.

I'm still researching breast pumps too, although, this is probably too much information, my boobs are sooooo itchy sometimes that I can't even stomach the thought of a breast pump.

How's everyone else doing on this Monday evening?

TwinkleDay · 11/03/2019 18:48

I am 24+4 and I had my whooping cough jab this morning arm not too bad a little achey... I had a relaxing weekend so Monday I have energy then it rapidly fades by the end of the week though next week we are off to wales in a little holiday cottage so looking forward to that and time off :D

StargazyDrifter · 11/03/2019 19:38

Weight-wise, I've put on 3kg so far. I was just within the healthy BMI bracket when I got my BFP, but I really only mean just. Then lost some weight through awful sickness and now it seems to be kind of steady. Still throwing up every other day and don't have a huge appetite. I found a BabyCentre calculator last night that told me I wasn't putting on enough. No one NHS-side has weighed me since booking in but at the 20 week scan the baby was middle of the chart for everything (and a massive 97th percentile belly!) so can't be too bad.

I channeled my anxiety into binning loads of stuff at home today. DH got back to 4 bin liners to take out. 😂

I really need to get my bras sorted out. Next pregnancy related task is to get to the John Lewis fitting appt, way overdue.

Capybaras · 11/03/2019 19:45

I've seen quite a few people mention percentiles for baby's measurements at the 20w scan - we didn't get any of those! Had measurements for femur and head circumference stating what gestational age they were but nothing on the belly side!

Oh I'll have to look that calculator up @StargazyDrifter - interesting to see if my weight gain is on track or not!

Chinks123 · 11/03/2019 19:50

I’ve put on around 6lbs I think. We did so much walking this weekend, miles and miles but ate a lot of carbs too!

I ordered my pram today! It’s being delivered this week. No idea why I need it in the house in the way so early..but once I buy something I have to have it straight away Blush

Capybaras · 11/03/2019 19:52

I'm the same @Chinks123 - ours is in the spare bedroom, along with all the other bits we've bought. Need to lay all the clothes out so I can see what I've actually bought and what we need! Bit lost on how much to buy/what to buy!

Yukka · 11/03/2019 19:53

I lost 8lbs in first trimester and have since gained 7.5 lbs so I think I’m ok. My bmi is 26.5 so I need to try and keep weight down to a stone and a half if possible but Many go up to 2.5/3 st I think, I guess it depends where you’re starting from.

Chinks123 · 11/03/2019 20:04

Ah @Capybaras I’d love a spare bedroom! Ours is only 2 bedrooms and dd has one of them. Dp says we’ll convert the loft but he’s been saying it for ages..
