New thread!

Sorry, don't know if someone else was planning to do this. Just noticed how close we were to being cut off on the last thread.

Husband felt baby move for the first time last night, she was really active! I've not felt much because of my placenta being at the front.

Pregnancy hormones are real - just went hysterical because my stupid dog escaped as I was coming back into the house, she only went as far as the top of our drive but it nearly gave me a heart attack, tears and everything. Heart is still racing!

Toria73 · 09/03/2019 14:13

@Stargazy your scrunched up sock sounds more attractive than mine which is starting to look like a cat’s bottom 😱
When does nesting kick in? I’m looking at my disgrace of a home hoping it will be soon as most nights I’m shattered & I’ve never really had much motivation for doing the housework?

twickersmumtobe · 09/03/2019 14:28

Hi all, first time poster, I'm 20 weeks, baby misbehaved on the scan so we get to go back in a few weeks so they can get a better look at the heart and face, but other than that all good.
I have recently been advised to try out myexpertmidwife.com/ products, has anyone got any experience of using their products or had any recommendations themselves?

StargazyDrifter · 09/03/2019 15:02

Hmm Toria, now you mention it, a cat's bottom is a pretty accurate description!!! It's usually a couple of inches deep.

I'd say I'm half-nesting. Aware enough of all the things that are needed and that I'd like to do around the house, but not yet moved to do that much about them. It's got to happen though. Today is a complete write off, too tied for anything more than sofa and TV.

Toria73 · 09/03/2019 16:12

@Stargazy mine is slightly shallower than yours. It’s concerning me though as I’m only 23wks so there is the potential that it may pop out & become even more unattractive.

Toria73 · 09/03/2019 16:14

Oh I should probably apologise to anyone who is freaked out by belly buttons for squicking you out, sorry.

StargazyDrifter · 09/03/2019 16:25

Toria I agree there is still a way to go for both of ours. I tried to pop mine back in, that was definitely icky. Does yours feel funny to touch now?

(And yes sorry to anyone who hates belly buttons!)

Toria73 · 09/03/2019 17:02

Stargazy mine doesn’t feel funny to touch but it is weird as I can no longer properly dip my finger in & it’s not as sensitive as it used to be. But then again a few of my sensitive spots are no longer responsive these days. Don’t know if it’s a pregnancy thing or how I feel about myself at the moment thing. I know some women feel really sexy & lush when pregnant but I’m not one of them. My friend was laughing at me as I failed to pick up on a guy flirting with me the other day. It just never occurred to me that anyone would find me attractive just now. I used to have great perky but big boobs which deflected from pot belly, now have breasts that you can get lost in that just seem to sit on top of bump. Kinda like a pregnant Mr Men figure...

BeckyButterfly · 09/03/2019 17:02

@Toria73 I feel the same about nesting. I really hope it kicks in at some point! My house is a tip but have zero energy or motivation to do anything about it 😩 currently lying on the sofa haha.

Toria73 · 09/03/2019 17:06

@becky me too, still in pjs & reckon I’ll just shower & put on clean pjs... 😂

StargazyDrifter · 09/03/2019 17:29

Toria similarly, not feeling lush or sexy. When I've had the odd compliment I always think people are just being nice. I've always thought I'd feel less self conscious about the pot belly once it's a pregnant belly, but the boobs thing I hadn't factored in! And still "off dick", as we say on this thread.

Your post was v v funny to read btw.

BeckyButterfly · 09/03/2019 17:44

I’m not enjoying the boobs resting on my belly look either! I won’t wear anything remotely baggy because it makes me look like a blob! Definitely not feeling even remotely sexy 😬

BeckyButterfly · 09/03/2019 17:47

Also, wonky bump is a daily occurrence now..! I think she must do all her moving during the night. It is quite nice to wake up to a reminder that there is something in that every growing stomach of mine since I don’t actually feel any movement at all.

Toria73 · 09/03/2019 18:06

Stargazy with a bit of luck we look a lot hotter than we feel. Let’s face it even Meghan Markle who looks great feels like a cake eater as the world knows she’s pregnant yet she still holds & enphasises that bump as if to prove it’s not a pie baby. 😉
Seeing as it’s just me it’s probably just as well that I’m off dick right now. What scares me is what if no guy fancies me & my twin ravaged body enough to get real dick again? I’ve been warned that first 3yrs with twins is just a blur & I’m going to be so feckn knackered I probably won’t even be aware that I’m not getting any...
@Becky my bump is all kinds of wonky & all different shapes throughout the day so you’re not alone.

StargazyDrifter · 09/03/2019 18:15

😂 pie baby. I have to admit I've started dressing to show off the bump a little bit now there is a more defined bump rather than just a tyre of blob. So I thInk I'm guilty of this too!

Toria you'll probably meet a hot available dad at something twin related. Always when you least expect it! Though I must admit anything even remotely romantic feels unimaginable right now.

Becky that one-sided bump has definitely grown since your last pic of it. So sweet!

My bump also changes shapes and sizes, I can imagine the baby likes it when I have main meals or lots of drink in one go, must get a bit squashed.

BeckyButterfly · 09/03/2019 18:47

@StargazyDrifter I’m definitely growing!

I think it’s normal to look at yourself differently to how everyone else sees you. Everyone at work keeps telling me I have a huge bump and that I look really pregnant but I still think I look like a fatty 😂 people have been really nice though and keep telling me I’m all baby and I have a neat bump which is nice even if I feel like a heffa!

TwinkleDay · 09/03/2019 19:09

@twickersmumtobe yes been using the tummy oil for past 3 months now and only 1 stretch mark. Got the rest of the nibble balms, foof spray and perennial oil to try in 10 weeks time ... so far so good x

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/03/2019 19:40

My last 2 pregnancies I loved having a bump and only wore tight fitting clothes , literally never wear anything clingy when I'm not pregnant ! The only time I've felt confident

This time round , I don't know what's going on but I'm really struggling ,🙈 I don't know if I'm carrying differently or maybe I just need a few more weeks but I just don't like any clothes on 🙈 I feel like Ive expanded all ways this time rather than just the bump ! 😣

twickersmumtobe · 09/03/2019 20:43

@TwinkleDay thanks, reassuring that I'm not the only one Smile
Loving the bump pictures everyone. I've kept thinking my tummy is sticking out more on the left but wasn't sure until reading your posts.
A little freaked out about what is going to happen to my bellybutton in a few weeks time Wink

BeckyButterfly · 09/03/2019 21:20

@ReginaPhalange89 this is your first boy isn’t it? Everyone has been saying to be that you carry differently with boys than girls so maybe it’s actually true! I bet you look fab though 😊

BeckyButterfly · 09/03/2019 21:22

Also, I bought some stretch mark cream stuff a few weeks ago but haven’t used it yet. I just got a cocoa butter one but I’m rubbish at remembering to do stuff like that. I always forgot to take my pregnancy vitamins as well!

ReginaPhalange89 · 09/03/2019 21:23

@beckybutterfly yes first boy ! I did think that too I've heard you carry differently. I hope it changes cos I've loved being pregnant last 2 times I want to enjoy it and feel confident again!

BeckyButterfly · 09/03/2019 22:08

@ReginaPhalange89 I hope so too! There’s nothing worse than feeling self conscious all the time.

Giraffe888 · 10/03/2019 08:27

@yukka and @onemorewish thank you for your responses about placenta. I read the booklet on it yesterday and some bits online. Ive also read that it can be dangerous for Mum & baby if it’s still low later on in pregnancy. Hopefully it will move! X

TwinkleDay · 10/03/2019 08:44

Anyone else tossing and turning at night from numb side/arse ? I have a full body pillow to spoon one side and a soft one to stick tummy and boob on the they side lol... and my lovely mattress
