New thread!

Sorry, don't know if someone else was planning to do this. Just noticed how close we were to being cut off on the last thread.

@beckybutterfly no none of that came up! I put my details in etc then it just went to a homepage. God knows what I’ve done 😂

Giraffe888 · 01/03/2019 09:18

@beckybutterfly I’ve found it thank you!

BeckyButterfly · 01/03/2019 09:18

Oh...I have no idea then Giraffe888 😂 you haven’t gotten an email to confirm your log in or anything..?

BeckyButterfly · 01/03/2019 09:18

Fab! 😊

cocodash · 01/03/2019 09:19

@thedust I'm finding I'm defo hungrier now!!
Been having 2 breakfasts this past week!! Cereal and then toast where usually one does me haha
Still trying to eat healthy so will need to start planning extra healthy snacks to take to work!

cocodash · 01/03/2019 09:35

And I just made the mistake of standing on the scales lol WHHHYYYYYYY

Ive put on over a stone already. And I was not a skinny Minnie to start with. Feeling very Meh now. I know it's normal as we are all growing a tiny human inside of us but WHHYYYY did I stand on the scales lol

Does anyone else feel like this?

thedust · 01/03/2019 09:54

cocodash I've put a stone on too. I'm not weighing myself any more! There is no right or wrong amount of weight to put on though. I feel like my thighs have gone huge but my friend said that's because your hormones cause you to store fat there to prepare your body for breastfeeding. And a lot of the weight will be water! My main concern is staying healthy and active throughout to make labour easier and avoid GD and to have a healthy baby.

JSCRJ · 01/03/2019 09:54

@cocodash,I'm planning to avoid the scales until this time next year! But also, it is totally normal. I was amazed when I read that we should be putting on about a lb a week at the moment and around 2 stone overall. If only I could have lost it that quickly whilst constant dieting before getting pregnant!

HchyScott · 01/03/2019 10:42

Surely a stone is about normal? I’m at a stone and 2lbs at bang on 22 weeks and I thought that was where I should be!

cocodash · 01/03/2019 10:49

Aww i know its normal, I had a really bad relationship when I was younger with food and my weight and pretty much danced on the lines of an eating disorder. (All in the past and been healthy and happy for a long time)
Just got that familiar sinking feeling I used to get which quickly went away when I reminded myself that I'm not that person anymore AND that im growing a wee human!! Im just more annoyed that i even stood on the scales now!

They have been thrown back into the wardrobe and will not see daylight again until at least Xmas!! Out of sight out of mind!!

ReginaPhalange89 · 01/03/2019 11:06

I've put on a stone too at 19 weeks ! I'm a binger though, my appetite has been ridiculous and it's all stodgy food I want !

RooKangaroo · 01/03/2019 11:47

@cocodash - you poor thing, that's so horrible to go through. Glad it's mostly in the past now. Do know that you can mention these things to midwives and they can help with counselling support if you need it. There's a lot we're going through right now, and we all need to be looked after as much as possible.

RooKangaroo · 01/03/2019 11:50

@thedust - agreed, I'm hoping not to worry about weight gain or body changes as long as I can still keep walking as much as possible and eat (mostly!) good food.

I'm usually quite good with food anyway - as in, I sometimes eat too much, but I'm eating too much of good things. Like, I could properly murder several tuna salads, for example. For me it's the sweet tooth issue - when I'm not pregnant I literally do not care about chocolate or anything sweet. It's like it doesn't exist in my world (wine and cheese are more my thing!), but when I'm pregnant it's like my sweet tooth gets turned up to the max and I can't get enough. I'm trying to avoid having anything like that around the house so I'm not tempted to binge on it.

How is everyone doing this Friday morning? I love the first days of the month - my calendar turns to the next month on the Ovia app, and I suddenly feel a lot further along and closer to July :)

I'm happy it's March ! We've lots on this month ! 20 week scan in a few days. OH, myself and our toddler all have our birthdays this month ! It's my 30th so we are having a much needed night away just us no kids ! Literally cant wait for a full night sleep and to eat in a restaurant without a toddler throwing food around and making noise 😂 just a shame I can't have a couple of Gins!

Trying2bemum · 01/03/2019 12:51

Happy Friday all, and happy March Thanks

Another one with big appetite - trying to eat moderate amount and snack regularly. Nuts, fruit, yoghurt if possible. But completely addicted to hot cross buns

Does anyone get cravings? I think my only craving now occasionally is ice cream.

20 week scan coming up and I'm looking forward to it. There's part of me that wants to know the sex but DH insists he doesn't.

Getting more fluttery movements and more pronounced little pulses in my lower tummy ☺️💕

Chinks123 · 01/03/2019 12:58

Happy March! We’ve just got back from our first “babymoon” and we have another one coming up soon. It was amazing to have a few days away, and baby boy is starting to kick a lot more now: I’m 18 weeks today.
Back to earth with a bang though, I’m full of cold and dd is off school for the holidays.

Just off to buy some melon, my only craving so far!

Capybaras · 01/03/2019 13:15

Happy St David's day! Had our rescan first thing this morning and all looking good - baby was much more cooperative! The random pains I had last night have gone so must have been stretching pains or something.
I've put on 2lbs now, but I really struggled to eat up until around 16 weeks and lost weight so it's actually piling on quickly now considering I'd lost half a stone!
Started looking at lists of baby essentials and there's a lot to buy! It's amazing how much you can spend on some things. I love that scandiborn website but omg it is expensive!!
Hope everyone else is having a good Friday and other scans have gone well (I'm sure there were more scans today?)

RooKangaroo · 01/03/2019 14:17

Glad the scan went ok @Capybaras!

Oh my goodness, all this talk of weight, I gave in and went and replaced the battery in the scales. I wish I hadn't. I've gained 2 stone. 2 stone. 2 stone. That's ridiculous. I was 7st 7 on those scales before now I'm 9st 6. I gained 3 and a half stone last time. I'd better bloody lose it again. In other news, had 20 wk scan but baby not in right position despite 3 attempts (walked, hot choc, loo trip, jumped up and down) - do rescan on Thursday to check heart and profile. Also another far bellied baby! Sorry to hear of the continued sickness, that must be do hard. Glad the rescan went well. Yes glad it's March now!

BeckyButterfly · 01/03/2019 14:38

Happy March everyone! I love March 😊 it just feels like a happier month and it is the hubby’s birthday tomorrow so we are off to Scotland for the night.

In terms of weight gain, I lost a stone and a half in my first 12 weeks and have only just started putting weight back on. I’m still not back up to pre-pregnancy weight though. I still don’t have a massive appetite and often forget to eat until it is my lunch break at work..!

I woke up this morning and belly looked insane! I was completely lopsided. The left side of my belly was flat and squishy where the right side was huge and rock solid. Goodness knows what position she was lying in! Despite all that movement, I still can’t say that I can feel anything that I would describe as kicks or movement 😕

BeckyButterfly · 01/03/2019 14:39

I got a photo but it doesn’t really do it justice. Proper freaked me out! 😂

Capybaras · 01/03/2019 15:14

@Kentishgal that sounds exactly like our scan last week! Felt like a right pillock swishing my belly around to try and get him to move! I'm sure he'll be playing ball for your scan next week. Plus it's a nice chance to see them again!

Oh wow baby was on one side @BeckyButterfly that would have freaked me out too! Mad that they can cause this much distortion when they're still so small!

BirthdayKake · 01/03/2019 16:06

@BeckyButterfly sorry to hear that you're still feeling sick too :( I would definitely be sick if I didn't eat every two hours or more. So annoying!

Really proud of my eldest - he's been offered a place at the outstanding grammar school near us today (he starts Year 7 in September). So happy for him!

OneMoreWish · 01/03/2019 16:06

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow and I just can't wait. The bleeding has stopped so I'm assuming placenta has moved up and because I'm not noticing much movement ( I have a toddler who keeps me distracted ) I'm really looking forward to seeing baby. I'm wishing away the hours!!

Last pregnancy I craved milk milk and more milk. This time I don't have cravings yet but have an aversion to chicken. When I think of meals which include it they sound delish but as soon as a piece of chicken goes in my mouth I feel really sick and retch. It's a shame as I don't eat any other meat and I miss chicken lol x
