New thread!

Sorry, don't know if someone else was planning to do this. Just noticed how close we were to being cut off on the last thread.

@BirthdayKake yeah, I’m the same. Also, well done to your eldest 😊 that’s fantastic!

BirthdayKake · 01/03/2019 17:03

@BeckyButterfly thank you :)

whyohwhypart2 · 01/03/2019 17:30

Wow how are we on thread number 8 already! I really can't keep up 😂did someone say there is a fb page?

So lovely to hear of all the good news and gender scans, getting so exciting now. My 20 week scan is on the 5th March like a few of you here, I can't wait! Remaining team yellow though :)

It's my birthday today so we're currently heading for a weekend away, I just want the weather to be dry, hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

Giraffe888 · 01/03/2019 18:20

@birthdaykake well done to your eldest!

@onemorewish I’m off chicken too! I used to love it but just can’t face it!

Happy birthday @whyohwhypart2, have a lovely weekend!

I’ve put 1lb on since being pregnant but that’s because I lost quite a bit at the beginning. I’m hungry after a few hours and if I don’t eat I feel really sick!

My 20wk scan is next Friday and I can’t wait. A customer today wished me good luck for it 😳 which I thought was a strange thing to say??

BeckyButterfly · 01/03/2019 18:50

After all the weight chat I got on the scales out of curiosity. I’m still below the weight I was during my booking appointment by a good 8lbs and I had already lost weight between falling pregnant and my booking appointment so I reckon in total I’m still down by about a stone.

Happy birthday whyohwhypart2 😊

@Giraffe888 that is a weird thing to say but I find that people don’t know what to say when people are pregnant.

HchyScott · 01/03/2019 19:09

@Girraffe888 I found that’s what everyone said to me!
Having a funny old day today, I feel different somehow but I don’t know if it’s just anxiety, I haven’t felt little lady move today and I’m not sure I felt her yesterday. I used to go a couple of days in weeks gone by without feeling her but I’m 22 weeks today and I’ve got used to feeling her a lot . Willing her to give me a big kick! I’ve eaten mega healthy today, soup abit of bread and two apples so maybe she’s missing the chocolate and carbs I usually go for... ordered a McDonald’s for “fatboy Friday”
as my husband calls it 😂, hoping that will wake her up! My app did tell me today that at 22 weeks they sleep for 12-13 hours a day so maybe she’s uber sleepy from all the movements at the beginning of the week!
Sorry for the rambling, trying to be positive but actually felt very scared today for the first time.

TwinkleDay · 01/03/2019 19:42

@Trying2bemum I am also loving the hot cross buns/ toasted teacakes at the moment they are my go too... eating plenty of fruit but also like a cake , haven't been on the scales yet and they didn't weigh me at either scan. Last time I was weighed was at book in appointment .. scary thought

BirthdayKake · 01/03/2019 19:51

@Giraffe888 thank you

whyohwhy happy birthday!

Toria73 · 01/03/2019 22:02

Evening all, how is everyone?
I hadn’t realised how long it had been since I last checked in. Last few weeks have been manic work wise & the moment I sit down in front of tv its 1,2,3 & sleep & off to fabulous dreamland. The other night I sold my twins for round the world ticket & got everything 1st class as they’re boys 😂 In reality I have no idea what they are. So apologies if this has already been covered...
Belly button pop outs, does it hurt? The thought of it happening squicks me out but mine is getting shallow & it’s starting to worry me. Is your belly button like your boobs, they may go back to somewhere close to normal but never recover their former glory?

StargazyDrifter · 01/03/2019 23:45

Happy St David's Day (just)! And happy birthday, why.

I couldn't resist the scales either after all the posts - at 21+5 I'm 4kg/8lb heavier than at conception. Overall I'm a stone heavier than my normal weight though, as I'd put on a couple of kg in August/September, having completely given up on TTC and gone to Italy for 3 weeks with DH to eat and drink. I did lose about 3kg with the first trimester hypermesis superdrama, but I'm glad the weight gain is now as expected. I wouldn't worry about it Kentishgal and others - so much of it is fluid and placenta and stuff.

Also still suffering from sickness and not got a great appetite. Apart from for milk. Massive cravings for it, but DH thinks it's given me a cough. Not like a sore throat, but an allergic (tmi) mucousy type cough. Not sure if that's possible.

No other cravings, but still very quick to not want something the minute it's in front of me. Snacks I pack in the morning often go uneaten. It's really tedious and I want to be able to enjoy food again!

Hchy I know that worry, feels horrible, fingers crossed she gets back to it soon! We had takeaway burgers too! 😊

BeckyButterfly that bump photo is really cool!

Toria hello, nice to see you back! My belly button is also making a bid for prominence. It feels icky when it catches on clothes. I think it's mostly in my head, and perhaps a little bit to do with the fact that the skin that's now more exploded isn't as sensitised to brushing up against stuff. I really hope it goes back to how it was! Have read that it does. Sounds odd but, with it sticking out more, I keep thinking how it's where my own umbilical cord once was and it's a strange feeling!

The baby is kicking more often and more strongly. Strongly enough now for me to notice in conversation or in meetings when I'm not really looking for it. It can be distracting and a bit unnerving when I'm absorbed in something else at work and the baby reminds me of her presence!

StargazyDrifter · 01/03/2019 23:46

*exposed - NOT exploded! Not yet, anyway... 😂

HchyScott · 02/03/2019 07:35

@StargazyDrifter I think she’s just wiggled! It’s been a sleepless night!
The milk thing is definitely a thing! My brother in law broke ribs, passed out, so poorly with a cough for ages and they couldn’t work out what it was, turns out is a mild dairy allergy! He mostly avoids it now but doesn’t go as far as having no diary as an ingredient in things and when he knows he’s going to have ice cream or a dairy day as he calls it, he takes antihistamines before and then he’s fine!

StargazyDrifter · 02/03/2019 07:48

HchyScott Hurrah! Hopefully she'll keep going now! 😊 They are definitely not meant to be regular at this stage, I think of them as little willful cats, doing their own thing, often at night. 😽

Interesting about your BIL, I will keep that in mind. Although I've already gobbled up a yoghurt this morning. 🙈

Having a day out and a country walk with friends but all I want to do is sleeeeeeeep. Zzzzzz.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Kentishgal · 02/03/2019 08:30

stargazydrifter I think you might be right about fluid retention (although still disconcerting) as it happened last time - it's just it caused carpel tunnel last time which was v annoying and stopped me sleeping. But when baby was born I sweated profusely for about 2 weeks and the weight dropped off. Re the tummy button - mine didn't pop last time but I think it will this time because I had. Laparoscopy through a couple of months before I conceived and that altered the shape of it (thought it was quite good at the time as have it a bit of a lift!) but definitely different this time - and I've already got stretch marks around my tummy button which I didn't get last time. My poor friend's was completely misshapen after her first....she's since had twins so don't know what that did to it! I'm 36 soon so should probably accept my days of wearing a bikini are over - but I'm desperate to get figure back afterwards and don't want terrible stretch marks or misshapen tummy button!!

RooKangaroo · 02/03/2019 09:54

@Kentishgal, don't wear a bikini again if you don't feel comfortable in it, but please don't not wear one again because of your age!

I hate all the 'too young/old' for certain types of clothes. We should all just wear what we want and feel comfortable in. Fuck what others think Grin

Kentishgal · 02/03/2019 10:01

rookangaroo thank you - I agree...Just not when it comes to myself! 😂

RooKangaroo · 02/03/2019 10:02

@Kentishgal - I know, it's really hard! 🙈 I try to practice what I preach! 😆

@Toria73 my belly button popped last time. Apart from feeling abit odd and sensitive, no it doesn’t hurt. It also went completely back to normal afterwards!

No stretch marks as of yet, I avoided them with dd and I’m covering myself in coconut oil. I was in a bikini last week on our holiday, and the bump looked huge. Tried on one of my old one pieces but it looked ridiculous. I’ll have to invest in some maternity swimwear.

BeckyButterfly · 02/03/2019 11:44

I must try on my swimwear this week because I’m going for a spa day with my best friend next Sunday! I might have to order a maternity costume if none of them fit. I have one that was always a bit too big so hoping that’ll do the trick for now since I always wear shorts with a swimming costume anyway.

Capybaras · 02/03/2019 11:46

Omg I hadn't even thought about belly buttons popping! Does everyone's pop? No stretch marks yet but feel it's still early days for them. Think I'm likely to get them though as I have loads from puberty and my mum got them in her pregnancies! I am lathering myself with stretch mark oil and trying to keep hydrated but probably not a lot you can do!
Hope everyone's got a nice weekend ahead of them! I'm off for cake and a catch up with a friend then a bit of shopping afterwards!

LavenderBelle · 02/03/2019 15:27

Got a pram for our little boy yesterday, no stretch marks here either, but been smothering myself in creams.

Capybaras · 02/03/2019 16:06

Oh what pram did you get @LavenderBelle ?

LavenderBelle · 02/03/2019 16:15

Mothercare Journey, I think it’s called. It’s quite plain but it’s a travel system so covers a lot of basis. We’ve also decided on Arthur Frederick Stanley as our little boys name

Capybaras · 02/03/2019 16:19

I haven't seen that one. The name sounds lovely! We haven't thought about names yet at all!

ReginaPhalange89 · 02/03/2019 16:21

Baby #3 and never had a belly button pop out yet! And I was huge with #1 .
