New thread!

Sorry, don't know if someone else was planning to do this. Just noticed how close we were to being cut off on the last thread.

@ReginaPhalange89 that’s a fab price. Someone was selling the same thing near me for the same price.

@Kentishgal I had the same reaction 😂

LavenderBelle · 24/02/2019 18:09

Where will you all keep your prams, we have barely any storage space in our house!. I feel like I’ve just been cruising along these past 20 weeks thinking that I have ages left until anything real happens, now I’m past half way and panicking.

ReginaPhalange89 · 24/02/2019 18:16

@LavenderBelle I actually have no idea where we are going to keep ours 🙈 it's quite a lot of stuff with all the seats ! Might have to put it in the loft for now !

@dianablythe I'm sure you can Google the make of your car and isofix and find out that way ? Sometimes there's a little isofix label on the back seat too

cathyj87 · 24/02/2019 18:17

@lavender the shop we got ours from will hold on to everything for us right up until we want to collect it. Will probably only get it a week or so before due date

Trying2bemum · 24/02/2019 18:31

Have not bought single thing and cannot understand most of the pram chat - it's like another language!! Will do the John Lewis appointment in the next month or so to try and get our heads around it then see if we can get a good deal once we know what we want. A few people have said they're delivered quickly so I don't feel the need to go shopping just yet.

Everyone's different though and I am enjoying all the pram chat - it will probably help when we do start looking.

SEX - I wish. I really miss it and have been horny as hell. Things have just been too shit between me and DH. I did say to him earlier that I missed it and he did too apparently so perhaps we will revisit when he gets back from work on Thursday.

BeckyButterfly · 24/02/2019 18:35

@Trying2bemum all the pram stuff baffled me but I took the hubby to look at them and he quite quickly decided that he wanted it to fold with the chair part still attached which narrowed it down to 2 prams within our price range. Made it quite easy from there! Once you have your appointment, you’ll probably find it all becomes clearer 😊 it is a very personal choice.

BeckyButterfly · 24/02/2019 18:36

Also, I’ve only bought a couple of sleepsuits because I imagine we are going to get loads from family (hubby’s family is huge!) and from my work. Plus, I still want to wait till after the 20 week scan to buy too much (anxiety takes over most of the time)

Trying2bemum · 24/02/2019 18:41

Thanks @BeckyButterfly that's useful to know. I think sub consciously I'm waiting for the 20 week scan too. Then I might treat myself to a babygrow. I still can't believe I'm even writing that - we tried for three years and had three IVF cycles and I still have to pinch myself this is happening SmileSmileSmile

thedust · 24/02/2019 18:46

We had our John Lewis nursery appointment yesterday and they were lovely. Not pushy at all, just giving you all the facts and loads of info. I liked the joolz day 3 before we went and I came away with it still as the favourite which is a good sign! My parents are buying us the pram. We are going to the baby and toddler show with my mum in a few weeks to compare them to the Cybex priams.

We've stripped the nursery of all the ugly wallpaper that was up when we moved in 2 years ago and pulled the carpet up and took it to the tip. We need to put lining paper up because the walls aren't great and get a new radiator too then get the laminate laid that we got a quote for this week. Oh and decide on what colour to paint the walls too! Feels like I'm nesting already, I just want it done NOW!

LavenderBelle · 24/02/2019 18:59

We’re just putting blue blinds instead of pink in our spare room and then putting his cot in the middle of the room. It doesn’t sound good but it should look nice. We’ve decided on a name now too!

TwinkleDay · 24/02/2019 19:50

In regards to shaving .. if you stick a mirror on the toilet I did a pretty good job with my tummy completely covering all vision I had lol... top tip...

I hope to keep trim well into summer and labour :D even gave OH the update so he doesn't need to be drafted in just yet x

Kentishgal · 24/02/2019 20:57

I usually find my in-laws challenging (father in law and step mum in law) to say the least (they're a standing joke amongst my friends because they're just so difficult) but at the moment I am just on the brink of telling where to go - they've spent all weekend telling us we're doing everything wrong and criticising our parenting. I am currently hiding in the bedroom pretending to still be putting my 3 yr old to bed. I'm afraid if I go downstairs I might have a pregnant woman rant (who am I kidding - I'm far too polite and british to do that really).

Kentishgal · 24/02/2019 21:00

Ps despite my "I'm not buying anything because it's bound to all go wrong" protestations, I actually bought about half a dozen cute dresses and some pretty vests in Cath kidston today!

BeckyButterfly · 24/02/2019 21:10

@Kentishgal that made me chuckle! Also, the Cath Kidston stuff is beautiful. It is my husband’s favourite shop 😂

Kentishgal · 24/02/2019 21:18

The dresses are so cute - and there are some lovely knitted boys bits too. Question Everything do some similar style dresses that are also beautiful.

StargazyDrifter · 24/02/2019 23:13

We had our John Lewis appointment today, really impressed with them and so very helpful and kind. We are going to the Baby Show next weekend and will see if there are any bargains to be had on what we like. Although the John Lewis 2 year warranty does sound attractive, too. We're also looking forward to trying out the buggy track at the Baby Show, to make sure the pram we like is as easy to push as it seemed today. It was the Silvercross Wayfarer.

Haven't bought much apart from a couple of babygros (which I want to try and customise, so wanted to start early) and a few high contrast baby books that were on sale.

Been feeling really stressed with work all week, I swear the hormones make you feel evening 100 times more. Anxiety and doom through the roof, self esteem on the floor. I know it's irrational, and in 3 short months won't matter at all, but seems so much harder to shake.

Sex - still "off dick", as precious threads have described it. Just too sick (still throwing up ☹️) and too tired plus also a little worried about bleeding/pain. Perhaps time to test it out, gently.

HchyScott happy birthday! Hope you've had a lovely weekend. 🎂🎁🎉

Trying2bemum John Lewis lady today said the big items like prams and things take roughly 4 weeks to deliver, but can be faster if they are already in stock. You have ages still! 😊

Kentishgal glad you sound a bit better and what a relief that the baby started moving again! Our in-laws are similar, commiserations. Take no notice of their 'advice'. It's desperate stuff really.

I've got myself the dream genie pillow and I am SO looking forward to using it in a moment. If I can wrestle it off DH, that is! 😂

HchyScott · 25/02/2019 06:40

@Capybaras thank you 😊 and another one here getting the Oyster 3! So lovely and compact, there wasn’t any affordable competition for us.
@StargazyDrifter thank you 😊 so sorry to hear your still being sick, you poor thing!!! No wonder you feel pants, really hope all improves soon!

Well one advantage of having my birthday was that I got so many baby clothes and bits and pieces, I feel pretty set up!!!
Leaves us to get the essentials now like draws and wardrobe for baby room, baby monitor, thermometer. Hubbys picking up an immaculate second hand snuz pod with all covers ect for £100 and I’ve managed to sell the last of our wedding decorations for £70 so I am chuffed to bits!!

TwinkleDay · 25/02/2019 07:03

@HchyScott good for selling.. I am team sell lol. Over £3k of stuff gone now - including a car if you remember back.

Fred/ricka s second twenty week scan here today. 2.30 come on little monkey be good x

Twistering · 25/02/2019 09:25

Fingers crossed @TwinkleDay! Behave little monkey!! :)

Whilst we’ve been to JL etc, I have literally bought nothing AT ALL. Zilch. Still feels too weird tbh.

@Regina - that is amazing! Stick a 1 in front of that number and that’s what you’re looking at for the same stuff!! Bargain!

DH has very fortuitously won 1500 quid in JL vouchers through a work incentive, otherwise I don’t think we’d be considering it! Hopefully good resale value though.

Onestep2 · 25/02/2019 09:27

Ohh its so exciting all this pram chat. @Reginaphelange89 that is a great bargain!! my pram is at my mums for the time being.

Ive picked up most baby things, next to me, bouncer, perfect prep, some nappies, wipes, loads jonsons stuff etc etc, clothes wise ive bought about 5 or 6 white outfits and then about 10 wee vest sets from asda and some bibs and muslin. i wont be buying anymore until baby is here as we are firmly in team yellow camp and i know i will be one of those mums who deck baby out in pink or blue lol

laughing at all the sex chat. me n DH have been pretty consistant. ive defo found my sex drive has increased with being preg. were finding it funny tryin out diff positions trying to find out what works best..... with some incredible fails while at it.

has anyone considered getting a 3D or 4D scan later on? or has had one in past pregnancies?

Beckanne90 · 25/02/2019 09:31

Good luck for today @TwinkleDay

My scan is tomorrow at 2.15, feeling slightly anxious about it. I have bought absolutely nothing yet, not because I’m superstitious; I just havnt even had the chance to look properly. Also, my pregnancy is still a secret, and I’ll struggle to hide things here...my DC’s still don’t know and neither does my family so can’t save it at any of theirs either haha.

Question, is anyone here having a VBAC? I’ve just scared myself half silly reading up on them and now I’m considering asking for an ELCS instead but I’m not sure that would go to plan as my last 2 were born before their time Confused

Beckanne90 · 25/02/2019 09:34

@OneStep2, I’ve had them in 2 of my past pregnancies, the first time I wasn’t impressed with as he had half of his face in the placenta most of the time and I payed full price for it which was 160 at the time. The second time was much better, more clearer and seemed to spend more time looking at him. I also used a voucher on that one. I’m in 2 minds whether to do it or not this time, I have a 40 pound off voucher which is tempting.

BirthdayKake · 25/02/2019 10:25

Ooh Beckanne90 mine is tomorrow at 2:30!

I'm also really anxious about it.

We're just storing our pram in the hallway. We had one there anyway from the 2yo that doesn't get used. That's now in the loft cos I CBA to sell it

So stressed today. Can't find my car keys anywhere!! I couldn't take DD to the childminder but I'll still have to frigging pay.

Baby's movements are getting stronger each day :) finally, a good symptom!

ReginaPhalange89 · 25/02/2019 12:39

Good luck with all the scans over the next few days ! Mine isn't til next week , can't wait but feeling anxious about it too! It's with a consultant because of the high risk NHS results (even though the Harmony came back fine).

I was just in Aldi and they had a really nice grey rucksack type changing bag! I ended up leaving it but its got me googling baby stuff now lol.

Kentishgal · 25/02/2019 12:55

Good luck with the scans! Just out of interest, has the 20 wk scan altered anyone's due date? Mine is 16 July but I was convinced (because of OPKs and BBT) that it can't be correct and the real date must be later. I'm not too worried because of the planned ELCS but was just intrigued. Don't think my due date with my first ever changed.
