New thread!

Sorry, don't know if someone else was planning to do this. Just noticed how close we were to being cut off on the last thread.

That's great @ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts! Mines really active lunchtime and mid-evening! And anytime I've had a cold drink. So nice to feel them isn't it! My DH has felt the baby once now but it was very faint so hoping in the next few weeks it'll get a lot stronger!
So happy it's Friday. We're going to look at prams tomorrow before the rugby (this is very important for DH), will be exciting to finally try some out!

Capybaras · 22/02/2019 09:55

We've bought a few bits second hand and really lucky that friends/family are lending us bits, but the pram I wanted to buy new, as I think it will be the only thing baby is getting that's new!

BeckyButterfly · 22/02/2019 10:02

@Capybaras we are getting given a lot secondhand so wanted to get a pram new as well.

Nice to hear about those of you who are feeling movement. I can’t wait to feel something in there!

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you’ve all had a good week. I’m not looking forward to going back to work on Monday!

lavenderBelle10 · 22/02/2019 10:17

@BeckyButterfly Nice to meet you too!.

@RoseBud That’s good that you’ve got the lead you wanted for such a good price, we haven’t bought anything yet other than a few items of clothing. I really need to start.

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts That’s so exciting!, our LO has been kicking for a few weeks now but he’s started to get really active lately. It’s lovely to feel him move about, it’s all starting to feel real.

Kentishgal · 22/02/2019 10:52

Lovely news all. Still no regular movement here - just the odd bit - but, as I say, I didn't feel my daughter for quite a while so maybe this one won't have regular movement for a bit. On the other hand, I've convinced myself that it'll be bad news at the scan next week and this pregnancy is doomed so I've stopped buying things and feel kind of resigned to bad news.

AIDE2424 · 22/02/2019 11:11

Anyone had there whooping cough injection yet?x

SnailorSwift · 22/02/2019 11:17

I had mine at 16 weeks @AIDE2424

I feel for you @Kentishgal that's how I was feeling last week. But scan on Tuesday showed a healthy baby who has really turned it up a notch with the movement since then! I'm sure all will be well for you 💕

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 22/02/2019 11:24

@AIDE2424 yes had mine a few days after my 16 week midwife appointment.

@Kentishgal what's making you feel like that? I was sure something was wrong because I wasn't feeling anything but everything at the scan was perfect.

Jxtina86 · 22/02/2019 11:25

@AIDE2424 I booked mine yesterday for 6th March. Will be 22 weeks. Think I read on NHS the ideal time is between 16 and 34(?) weeks but you can have it right up until labour (it just might not be as effective)

Kentishgal · 22/02/2019 11:25

Thank you snailorswift - that's nice to hear. I'm actually feeling less and less movement - I started feeling baby about 4 weeks ago but in the last 2 weeks the movement has really decreased. I guess I'm just trying to prepare myself for the worst - I say I'm being realistic; my husband says I'm being pessimistic. It just doesn't feel right. I'm probably being ridiculous!

AIDE2424 · 22/02/2019 11:26

Oh good, had mine today and the nurse said it was early to be having it but my midwife advised me to book it so I did :)

How is everyone doing? Can’t wait till I’m feeling proper kicks from my little lady!x

BeckyButterfly · 22/02/2019 11:32

@Kentishgal there’s nothing worse than having that feeling 🙁 I really do hope you are surprised at your scan and it is good news. I don’t think anything anyone says will take that feeling away until you see little one wriggling around in there.
I’ve been having that feeling a lot but I’ve had a scan at 16 weeks and a private scan yesterday and all looks good in there. Sending love and happy thoughts your way x

Kentishgal · 22/02/2019 11:35

Thank you beckybutterfly - I know its irrational, it's just anxiety creeping it.

onestep2 · 22/02/2019 11:40

@AIDE2424 I had my whooping cough jag yesterday (21+2) prepare for a dead arm lol cant lift my arm above shoulder height today hahaaha

AIDE2424 · 22/02/2019 11:47

@onestep2 I’ll look forward to it 😩.

Wondering when the next time I’ll get a full night sleep will be, been awake since 3.30 this morning, and it’s becoming a regular thing x

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 22/02/2019 11:59

@Kentishgal how many weeks are you now?

ReginaPhalange89 · 22/02/2019 12:01

Aww @kentishgal I'm sure everything will be fine at the scan ! Maybe baby has just moved position to a place where you don't feel much .
I'm 18+4 and not really feeling much at all tbh . The odd little flutter but nothing regular ! I lie for ages waiting and nothing comes lol

Kentishgal · 22/02/2019 12:02

I'm 19+3 today

ReginaPhalange89 · 22/02/2019 12:07

Also, anyone become really clumsy? 🙈
Yesterday I managed to get chilli powder in my eye , was so sore ! Today I've somehow managed to ping a bra strap and hit me in the same eye 😂🙈

cocodash · 22/02/2019 12:17

@kentishgal it could be the positioning of your placenta. They said I had a front facing placenta (can't remember the medical term) which would be cushioning the baby's blows and that it was nothing to worry about!

Capybaras · 22/02/2019 12:32

@Kentishgal I started having movements around 16 weeks, then at around 19weeks they became a lot less and I was worried in the lead up to my scan that something had happened. Turns out I have an anterior placenta so sometimes they will be cushioned - maybe you're similar? How long do you have to wait for your scan now?

Kentishgal · 22/02/2019 12:56

Scan is next Friday. Sorry girls I don't know why I'm freaking out all of a sudden!

BeckyButterfly · 22/02/2019 13:07

@Kentishgal it’s a really nerve wracking time. I have been ridiculously anxious. I ended up going for a private scan this week eve cause I had convinced myself something was wrong. It’s really hard. Just hang in there though 😊

SnailorSwift · 22/02/2019 13:39

@Kentishgal I had movement from 16 weeks and actually rang midwife last week worrying as my movement had decreased. She said at 19 weeks they wouldn't expect any regular pattern of movement and when I went on Tuesday all was ok.

thedust · 22/02/2019 14:06

At my scan yesterday the sonographer said my placenta was anterior so I won't feel movement as early as some people. I think that's quite common.

I treated myself to some JojoMamanBebe maternity dungarees the other week. They were far too long on me so my mum took them to a seamstress to get them shortened. She picked them up and gave them to me today - it was a pair of random jeans! So now my poor mum is going back to the shop and I'm hoping and praying that my maternity dungarees are still there. They won't really be much use to anyone else!
