New thread!

Sorry, don't know if someone else was planning to do this. Just noticed how close we were to being cut off on the last thread.

Ahh, the bump comments are so vexing. I've had some lovely comments that I've really enjoyed, but a couple of people have said some unusual things which I have given no response too.

Two weeks today until my 20 week scan. It feels like an ages away. Also, my butt and groin is quite painful, so may need to call the midwife.

We have contractors coming today to give quotes for a bathroom upgrade. I'm quite nervous about a bathroom upgrade during pregnancy, but it needs doing and it's probably better to have it done ahead of the baby getting here.

We have one bedroom finished, another bedroom to finish decorating, then two more to completely gut (including ripping out built in wardrobes!), plaster, and paint. I just want to sleep!

ReginaPhalange89 · 20/02/2019 08:04

@FuzzyPixel we had a new bathroom put in when I was like early stages of last pregnancy, must have been about 8 weeks or so and in the middle of the peeing/throwing up every 5 minutes stage and it was awful 😂 it was just my oH and his grandad doing it thankfully so I didn't have to interrupt builders etc but there were times I genuinely thought about peeing in the garden 😂

Beckanne90 · 20/02/2019 08:04

Congratulations on the 12 week scans, amazing news 😀

I agree with the scans, the standard is 12 and 20, they did add an extra one for me booked for 36 weeks with my last 2 babies as ds1 was SGA (nothing extra though for the 2nd and 3rd) But unfortunately I didn’t make it to 36 weeks with either of them. This time however the policy has changed further and I’m now booked in for growth scans at 27,29,31,33, 35 weeks and then a final one at 39 weeks. Whilst I’m happy about seeing baby more, I feel like they are concentrating on the wrong issue as my 4 subsequent babies were all good weights for gestation...yet they are completely ignoring the fact my last 2 babies were spontaneous prems and I’m not getting monitored or checked for that at all just the SGA. My trust doesn’t offer cervical scans apparently, so I’m thinking of booking a private one with baby bond.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 20/02/2019 08:30

Finally have my 20 scan today!! I'm so nervous and excited!!

Beckanne90 · 20/02/2019 09:31

Good luck @ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts, how exciting.

Giraffe888 · 20/02/2019 10:58

I’ve just been sat at work and felt 4 of what I can only describe as flutters at the bottom of my tummy....from what I’ve read I think it might be my first feelings of baby 💙

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 20/02/2019 11:12

@Giraffe888 that's lovely. How many weeks are you?

Giraffe888 · 20/02/2019 11:21

@fortheloveofdoughnuts I’m 17+4. There were only 4 and nothing since but the fact I’ve never felt anything like it makes me think must be baby!

BeckyButterfly · 20/02/2019 12:52

Random comment here but I keep getting a stabbing pain in my right boob and it is really annoying! 😂

ReginaPhalange89 · 20/02/2019 12:53

Ah that's lovely @giraffe888! I'm 18+2 and felt the odd 'nudge' , dying to feel proper kicks now !

BeckyButterfly · 20/02/2019 12:53

Also I’m exactly 18 weeks today and still not feeling anything 🙁 I can’t wait for some feeling. I’m going for a private scan tomorrow for a bit of peace of mind so fingers crossed all is okay!

JSCRJ · 20/02/2019 13:06

Good luck to everyone having scans this week!

I'm not having loads of movements but feel the odd prod at the bottom of my stomach. It's not very regular though, just every now and again. It's nice knowing things are ok in there

Bump seems to have grown massively in the last few days. Having all sorts of stretching pains, I'm guessing it's quite normal, but it's uncomfortable sitting at my desk all day.

Also, anyone else feel like they can't really think about anything besides their baby?! Since our scan last week, it's literally all I can concentrate on!

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 20/02/2019 13:40

@BeckyButterfly I'm 20+1 and not feeling anything. I've got my scan any minute now so I'm hoping to see something and maybe be able to recognise that feel as baby?

BeckyButterfly · 20/02/2019 13:43

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts I hope all is well at your scan 😊

Kentishgal · 20/02/2019 13:59

Is this your first beckybutterfly? If so I didn't feel my daughter until at least 21 wks - maybe later. This time it's been really intermittent - definitely no regularity to it yet. Good luck fortheloveofdoughnuts - hope all goes well.

BeckyButterfly · 20/02/2019 14:11

@Kentishgal yes, it’s my first 😊 that’s reassuring to hear. I think it’s easy to fall into worrying about every little thing!

Kentishgal · 20/02/2019 14:23

beckybutterfly oh yes - me too! My husband is the complete opposite so he can't understand it either!

ReginaPhalange89 · 20/02/2019 14:38

I didn't feel anything with my 1st til about 22 weeks. Definitely normal!

BeckyButterfly · 20/02/2019 14:39

That's why I like chatting to you lot on here, it always puts my mind at ease a little 😊

BeckyButterfly · 20/02/2019 14:46

Thank you @ReginaPhalange89 😊

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 20/02/2019 16:59

@BeckyButterfly the scan went really well! Baby was asleep. Had to get into the dodgy position and ... well... thrust and jiggle aroundBlushConfused

All the measurements were good. We are going to do a gender reveal on Saturday with our parents!

Can anyone explain to me about the perfect prep machine!? Why is it so good? I don't understand what it does.

BeckyButterfly · 20/02/2019 18:17

Yay! I’ve been waiting to hear from you 😊 so pleased it went well.

RooKangaroo · 20/02/2019 19:14

Good news @ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts!

@ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts That’s great! Mine was asleep too and she said “just bang your hips against the bed abit” Blush
Perfect prep wasn’t around when we had dd but dp wants one this time-he just likes gadgets, I’ve no idea if they’re worth it. It seems to be mixed reviews.

Giraffe888 · 20/02/2019 19:37

Great news @fortheloveofdoughnuts and @chinks123

I’m hoping to breastfeed but if it doesn’t work I definitely want a perfect prep machine. My SIL said it was the best thing they bought x
