Hi,

It looks like we filled up the last thread before anyone had a chance to start a new one, so here we go! Hope everyone finds their way over.

@twittlebee could you possibly link to the Google Doc again?

@karigan195 so glad you were seen again and got a bonus scan. Lovely to get a bit of reassurance too, hope the next 7 days go quickly for you.

Can definitely see a nasal bone @karigan95 - when is your NHS scan?

pinkpig381 · 15/02/2019 17:25

Just found this thread after wondering why the last one went quiet 😂 had an early 8 week scan earlier this week, saw our little bean and flickering heart beat...definitely made it more real for DH and I 😍 also booked in with midwife and waiting on my 12 week scan appointment to come in the post 😊

Also has anyone else read about chance of MC reducing if you see a heartbeat at 8 weeks? I'm sure I read it somewhere and I'm trying to reassure myself!

Karigan195 · 15/02/2019 17:47

Thank you both. I thought I did but didn’t know if it was wishful thinking.

@Tefiti2. Nhs scan is on the 25th.

Karigan195 · 15/02/2019 17:48

@pinkpig381

I definitely read the same at some point :).

DustyDoorframes · 15/02/2019 18:00

@pinkpig381 this is from the miscarriage association's website:

Research amongst women with a history of recurrent miscarriage has shown that those who saw a heartbeat at 6 weeks of pregnancy had a 78% chance of the pregnancy continuing. It also showed that seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks increased the chance of a continuing pregnancy to 98% and at 10 weeks that went up to 99.4%.
The numbers may be even more positive for women without previous miscarriages.

DustyDoorframes · 15/02/2019 18:02

Ps- even for those of us resisting the siren call of the early scan odds are good- this website is excellent for calming the nerves-

pinkpig381 · 15/02/2019 18:04

@DustyDoorframes thank you for that! It's really good to read it, especially when I know I have another 3 or so weeks until the next scan 🙈

Whisky2014 · 15/02/2019 18:14

Is anyone having really stressy dreams?! For the past week every night I've had horribly stressful dreams.
karigan is the photo of my scan good for seeing the fluid at the neck? I cant tell. And is there a nasal bone?!

And also, when i went for my 12 week scan they took blood for the downs test. Is this the same as NIPT? Or what is it I had?

pinkpig381 · 15/02/2019 18:52

@Whisky2014 I had such a nightmare last night to do with burglars! I woke up feeling so scared and stressed out at 2am, had to go on my phone for a bit to distract me (and get DH to be big spoon) 😂

Megan2018 · 15/02/2019 19:05

@Whisky2014
No that’ll be the combined test on the NHS
www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/screening-amniocentesis-downs-syndrome/

TwittleBee · 15/02/2019 19:34

Oh ditto with the stressful dreams here too! Last night I had 2 odd ones. First one about trying to hide my tall DH in an impossibly small space so the monsters wouldn't catch us and then had to dream through the scary waiting in the cramped space with DH for the monsters to leave! Second one was an awkard conversation with DH about whose DS' father actually could be (FYI in reality there is no doubt what so ever that DS is DH's!).

Karigan195 · 15/02/2019 19:38

@Whisky2014.

Well I can’t see anything obvious but I’m winding myself up panicking about my scans so I wouldn’t like to guess 😕

Whisky2014 · 15/02/2019 19:43

Oh that's funny a few of us have stressy dreams. I'm also waking up around 2/2.30am for a pee and takes me ages to get back to sleep.

Ah yes, combined test. God I feel out of the loop with everything. I just go along with it all but need to do more research.

Easterbuns1 · 15/02/2019 20:12

@Whisky2014 yes to the dreams, takes me absolutely ages to get to sleep and then inbetween having to get to pee I am having awful dreams, usually bad things about my dp leaving me or other upsetting crap like that. I remember having the same when I was pregnant with my older two. It's crap.

Between all that and the spd I actually slept better with a newborn Confused

Whisky2014 · 15/02/2019 20:20

Oh dear Easter hope you get some peaceful nights soon.
Yeh im having dreams about problems with my husband (we dont have any!), that all my exes were at my wedding and were telling my husband-to-be not to marry me (none of them were at our wedding and they all treated me horribly), i lost my car and couldnt get to work (i really need my car) and I had crazy one about being in the vicinity of a volcano exploding and having to jump onto a bus which was travelling down on the lava and watching people go up In flames and then when i managed to jump off I turned a corner and sat down to have a coffee at a street cafe and a fight broke out between a biker gang and me and mybhusband. Wtf!
I thought it because we need the toilet that it's happening more but as you say, it also happens after being to the toilet!

Hsunshine · 15/02/2019 20:39

I just have dreams about food. Last night I dreamt I brought 4 cupcakes that cost £67, I was too shocked by the price to eat them. Night before I dreamt about this ice cream place that was self serve and lots of toppings. Now I just want to have both

Whisky2014 · 15/02/2019 20:47

Lol that really made me smile. £67 for 4 cupcakes, by jove!

LaBelleSausage · 15/02/2019 21:38

I’m having horrible nightmares too. Had a dreadful dream last night where I got up to go to the loo in the dream, then looked over to the bath and somehow I’d left DS in there and he had obviously been underwater for hours and had drowned. It was horrendous. I woke up crying so hard that I woke him up.

Probably subconscious stress that a new baby means I’ll neglect him Sad

Whisky2014 · 15/02/2019 21:43

Oh that's a horrible one. But you know you aren't going to so it really is just our minds being bad to us.

I'm so tired ive gone to bed but I know I should go to the loo one last time, I just can't be bothered!

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/02/2019 03:24

Fuck sake

I have been awake over 2 hours

Angry
TwittleBee · 16/02/2019 05:49

Hope you managed to get back to sleep!

I've been awake since 4am needing to pee but can't leave the bedroom to go pee as it will wake DS up! So my bladder is very very very full now. Gonna have to bit bullet

boodles101 · 16/02/2019 08:09

I dreamt last night that I felt the back of my leg and there was something sticking out. When I looked closer, i had a chicken leg - drumstick and wing, actually growing out of my leg. Then the really weird thing is I ate a bit of the chicken! Shock

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/02/2019 08:21

Boodles that is random.

I was awake til about 430am. Then up at 630 with the dc

I will need a nap later

Karigan195 · 16/02/2019 08:30

I just keep having vivid dreams about all the things I’m worried about. I’d rather have a chicken leg 😂. Last night I was told at least 5 times that my baby had a chromosome abnormality. 😕
