Best of luck today @Wineandchoccy and @PurpleFlower1983* xx

wordsmithereens · 17/02/2019 11:27

Good luck @wineandchoccy and @atpurpleflower1983! So exciting.

@CaseofEllen I hope they start taking you seriously. Idea of bringing a soaked pad in doesn't sound bad.

Getting more period-pain like cramping, so I keep wondering if anything's happening, but nada.

Wineandchoccy · 17/02/2019 15:24

Propess went in at 12.45 feeling pressure but not much else at the minute. Been for a walk and had a nap now going to have a bounce on a ball.

@wineandchoccy glad you can get some rest! Thinking of you and @purpleflower1983 today.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 17/02/2019 16:37

Hope it doesn't hit overnight @wineandchoccy!
Have they said how long they will give you before they want to see some progress?

Wineandchoccy · 17/02/2019 17:12

@SquirtlesMumAgain 24 hours with the propess

CaseofEllen · 17/02/2019 17:36

@Wineandchoccy I hope something happens for you soon xx

This may seem a silly question but if you are induced are partners allowed to stay the whole process? Or do they have to go home at a certain time until you're actually in labour?

Xx

HidCat · 17/02/2019 17:41

@CaseofEllen I think that depends on where you are. I know my husband wouldn't be able to stay outside of visiting hours in mine unfortunately unless I was moved to the delivery suite.

Wineandchoccy · 17/02/2019 17:46

4 years ago when I had dd no but this time yes @ so must depend on area and trust policy. Only 1 birth partner overnight though.

CaseofEllen · 17/02/2019 18:15

Thanks @HidCat @Wineandchoccy I will ask at my next MW appointment as I would struggle without DP I think xx

SquirtlesMumAgain · 17/02/2019 19:17

DH stayed last time but I was in labour when I had the induction so may have been different if it was done separately.
He wasn't allowed to stay overnight in postnatal though and that was the hardest. Thankfully I was in a room with one other lady whose baby was actually in NICU so she was wonderful to have around as she didn't mind newborn cuddles when I just need to sort myself out and DS wouldn't go in the cot.

Checking in these threads move so fast!
Can't believe all these beautiful babies are coming! I'm feeling very anxious about it all now which I didn't really get first time around 😬

Angelmiracle · 17/02/2019 20:53

@SDP84 hi πŸ‘‹ I agree much more anxious this time. Something to be said for being oblivious to it all! Packing my bags today and got frustrated doing that Confused so they're just kind of done!

I am more anxious about being overdue with all the bother this time. Not sure I can deal with another 6 weeks scared about breathing issues and barely able to move at points in pain.
It was Not like this last time!!!

babycatcher411 · 17/02/2019 21:05

Very exciting seeing and hearing of these arrivals/impending arrivals.
But it’s making me anxious, I’m 38/40 today and the pool still hasn’t been delivered and I’m keeping everything crossed that a bambino doesn’t decide to first!!
My first job tomorrow is to chase it up, as it was meant to arrive last week.

BadBadBeans · 17/02/2019 22:40

Hope all is going well @Wineandchoccy and @Purpleflower1983!

@CaseofEllen how has your leakage been this afternoon?

I have been in a frenzy of activity trying to get our sh!ttip house sorted before the baby comes. Managed to move DS to his bigger room, which he will share with his new little brother or sister eventually. He LOVES the new room, which is great - I wanted him settled in there a good few weeks before the baby arrives, and we had been cutting it a bit fine in my opinion. DH doesn't quite seem to get the importance of not changing too much in DS's life at once though! He wasn't best pleased that I swapped the two rooms round while he was at work - long story. I had thought I was doing him a favour by not involving him - hey ho! Our office is now crammed into DS's former (tiny) bedroom and needs serious attention, but I think it's probably only a day's worth of sorting and I can do that while DS is at nursery this week.

I was delighted today though as DH managed to finally sort out and put away a load of his tools that had been swamping our lounge for the past six or eight weeks. I had offered to do it myself on multiple occasions but wasn't allowed because he wanted to know where they were put away. It had been driving me CRAZY! I can't tell you how relieved I am that now I will be able to actually clean the lounge and have it in a reasonable state again before the baby arrives.

I also managed to buy a car seat - hooray! After much deliberation I plumped for a bog standard Maxi Cosi Cabriofix, without an Isofix base. We used a seatbelt to strap DS's baby seat in last time and it was easy peasy lemon squeezy. Feeling somewhat reassured to have the seat in situ - if baby makes an early appearance now then at least we are ready! My bags are packed too, all ready and waiting. I just have to buy some chocolate treats to tuck away in there in case I find myself in need of a 4am hospital pick-me-up...

ballanj · 17/02/2019 22:51

@BadBadBeans there was a fair amount yesterday morning and then it slowed down. Haven't had too much since so still just keeping an eye out! Thanks for asking - sounds like you had a productive day!!

@PurpleFlower1983 congratulations! She's beautiful and sounds like your birth went well. Sending you Thanks + Cake xx

I had my first really vivid dream of 'birth', there was no actual baby but I was back and forth to the hospital with leaking etc and I finally found a doctor who believed me and would induce me!

Hope everyone is okay today xx

ballanj · 18/02/2019 08:07
