@HidCat I totally agree it is! They said maybe you're urinating οΏΌ I said I don't think I'd be weeing myself 3/4 times a day without realising!

@TheWanderlust glad you're not feeling too bad xx

SquirtlesMumAgain · 16/02/2019 20:15

That does seem odd @caseofEllen. Have you been wearing a pad?

@thewanderlust tears are uncomfortable so take it easy, don't push yourself too much. Are you back home?

CaseofEllen · 16/02/2019 20:21

@SquirtlesMumAgain yes I have the last day or two. The problem is whenever I go in the monitor for half an hour and that's not long enough to soak my pad πŸ€” but by the time I've been wearing one for 2/3 hours I'm soaked, I've told them this but they just say waters haven't gone. Overnight you would literally think the river banks have burst in my underwear Blush I have read that those tests to check for waters breaking aren't always accurate and it could be hind waters so I will keep an eye out, I'm thinking (& hoping) consultant will want to induce me after 37 weeks due to a few issues including this one xx

SquirtlesMumAgain · 16/02/2019 20:42

Such a shame they don't seem to be listening. Has it been the same doctor check each time?

CaseofEllen · 16/02/2019 21:11

@SquirtlesMumAgain a different doctor each time, first one took it seriously and said he can't see waters have gone but could still be. Second one, todays doctor, took about 30 seconds to do the whole examination and just said 'well can't see fluid' Hmm just had some more fluid a few minutes ago, definitely not wee! Will keep an eye out again overnight xx

TheWanderlust · 16/02/2019 21:16

@SquirtlesMumAgain we're staying in for a night or 2 as Althea had to have 5 rescue breaths to get her over the shock of delivery and encourage her to breathe on her own.

Taking it very easy in hospital and have managed to get a side room so we can focus on time together which is working a treat for feeding

SquirtlesMumAgain · 16/02/2019 21:18

Fantastic news @thewanderlust. Though I wanted to get home so much after a couple of days I do think the hospital stay was the best thing for both of us.
Hopefully the food is good!

Wineandchoccy · 16/02/2019 21:30

Congratulations @TheWanderlust get all the rest you can although being at home is good at least visitors are restricted in hospital so you can get some rest before every man and their dog is knocking at your door Grin

SharonO225 · 16/02/2019 21:42

@TheWanderlust congratulations Smile what a beautiful baby girl! I hope u are both settling in well xx

BadBadBeans · 16/02/2019 21:52

Congratulations @TheWanderlust - she is gorgeous! Enjoy the side room too! I ended up with one with DS and it was an absolute godsend.

Has anyone else lost their mucus plug without anything starting? I lost a little bit on Thursday, wasn't bothered as I know it can rebuild again. Saw my midwife yesterday to sort out the issue with my 38wk app and to have my urine checked as I'm prone to uti's and pressure is ridiculous atm.. feel like I need to wee constant (by the time I've flushed and repositioned my bump band over my bump I'm getting the urge to wee again Confused and down they go lol) the pressure has been so bad this week that I don't think I would be surprised to see a head between my legs at one of my toilet visits. My urine came back all clear and midwife wasn't bothered by the small show either but mentioned that baby was so low down she couldn't even feel the head, only her shoulders and as baby is measuring big in all my scans she said she wouldn't be surprised if I've had her by next wknd (when il be 37wks). This morning I woke to what looked like the rest of my mucus plug in one large blob (sorry tmi). No cramping as such, just a bruised feeling down below and stinging sensation which iv had the past week anyway and have put down to pressure from baby's head.
Iv heard some people lose their plug and labour takes weeks to start. With my other 3 it always came away with my waters.

Wineandchoccy · 16/02/2019 22:02

@SharonO225 I started losing mine just before 36 weeks and I am being induced tomorrow at 39 weeks. On Thursday I had a sweep and I was 2cm dilated but cervix still a bit long.

Angelmiracle · 16/02/2019 22:22

Was waiting on your news @TheWanderlust congratulations on your new baby girl she is beautiful. And a really lovely name! Hope her breathing settles soon. Enjoy all the cuddles πŸ’–

@CaseofEllen I'm no expert but that definitely sounds like waters! Like you said hind waters. You'll soon know if you're front waters go with a gush! Take it easy and keep a soaked maternity pad for them if you go back.

SharonO225 · 16/02/2019 22:27

I'm 36wks now @Wineandchoccy , iv never gone past 38 with any of my other 3 and midwife said yesterday that I should request permission from my consultant to add to my notes that I can have a sweep at 38wks if I haven't already gone naturally because baby is so big. My consultant is seeing me again at 37+4 for another scan to see if she's still growing at the same rate and to discuss options as my labours have all been so quick they're concerned her size could cause a problem. I'm so ready to go now lol I was a little disappointed nothing came of my show this morning Sad

SharonO225 · 16/02/2019 22:30

@Wineandchoccy how do u feel about being induced? Have u been induced before? I hope everything goes nice and quick for u tomorrow, look forward to seeing more baby pics too Smile
My previous have all been spontaneous and very quick, I'm worried if they decide to induce me because of her size that my labour will be different from all the others and take longer, I prefer the rush if I'm honest (even if it is a gamble of getting to the hospital on time lol)

Wineandchoccy · 17/02/2019 01:56

@SharonO225 I was induced last time but that was due to my waters going and contractions not being effective. I would have preferred not to be induced but the consultant thinks it’s safest for baby so I’m happy to listen to her.
I just hope it’s not as long or as painful as last time.

I got all excited when I lost my mucus plug a few weeks ago but nothing. I hope you don’t have to long to wait now.

PurpleFlower1983 · 17/02/2019 05:26

My waters went at 2.45 this morning! At home now hoping things will start! Had period pain and tightening but not regular yet! Exciting! I’m 38+2.

WhatALearningCurve · 17/02/2019 07:19

@PurpleFlower1983 oh that's so exciting! Good luck!

Hermagsjesty · 17/02/2019 07:41

Oh @wanderlust she is beautiful, congratulations!

And good luck today @wineandchoccy and @atpurpleflower1983

Sictransitgloria · 17/02/2019 08:50

Oh my goodness congratulations @thewanderlust

Good luck @wineandchoccy & @purpleflower1983 - surreal that babies are arriving now!

I went for a 2 hour dog walk (amble/stroll) yesterday. Was good for the soul but my left hip/groin is now so painful. Hoping it sorts itself out. But then I will be glossing the skirting boards in baby’s room and wallpapering πŸ˜‚ I like to keep busy (partner has said he will do it for weeks. He painted the walls after months of nagging but can’t bare the room being half done. I need to get all the baby’s stuff in there as it is taking up space in other parts of the house and is driving me mad!)

SquirtlesMumAgain · 17/02/2019 09:00

Good luck today @wineandchoccy thinking of you. @PurpleFlower1983 hope all goes smoothly for you too and things have started speeding up.

@sharono225 lost a large amount of my plug when I posted about a week ago but nothing yet (not that I really expected it). It wasn't bloody, which mine was last time when things kicked off.

Baby keeps springing about all over the place, one day she is stupidly low and burrowing down then others I feel her much higher and struggle to breathe again.... Silly second baby, stop it please!

Angelmiracle · 17/02/2019 09:03

@Wineandchoccy good luck wishing you a smooth and easy delivery πŸ’

@PurpleFlower1983 exciting! Hope contractions start soon for you!!

CaseofEllen · 17/02/2019 09:40

@Wineandchoccy @PurpleFlower1983 good luck today ladies! Babies are starting to pop up on the thread now, can't believe it's that close! Hope you both have the best labours you can and enjoy your newborns Thanks xx

@Sictransitgloria your poor hip! So hard to sit around though isn't it, I keep getting moaned at for painting or measuring windows for new blinds Hmm take it easy(ish) today and hopefully it will start to feel better Thanks

@SquirtlesMumAgain oh no! A bouncing baby at this point can be disheartening. I went from 3/5s engaged to him popping back out, despite midwife saying she didn't think this would happen. Hope your LO buries themselves deep again soon, won't be long now either way xx

Hope everyone else is feeling okay today, I'm heading to the shops with a friend to get the very very last little bits for baby. Feeling prepared but also not sure what I'm going to do with myself to pass the time! I think more sleep, more time with DP and family and a big big online shop to stock up on freezer bits/toilet rolls/toothpaste etc xx

melissa112 · 17/02/2019 10:04

Best of luck today @wineandchoccy and @atpurpleflower1983 xx
