I have had my final growth scan today and have had a sweep. Due to my age (37) I’m being induced on Sunday Shock I don’t finish work until tomorrow Shock So 1 day off!!

HidCat · 14/02/2019 15:46

@Angelmiracle if there were to be a third I'd probably finish earlier though!

Saw my midwife today and she's confirmed that baby is buried right down in my pelvis, she couldn't get to the head and had trouble finding the heartbeat with her being so low! Said she'll be surprised if I make it to due date...I said she'd probably jinxed me saying that lol. All looking good though.

@Wineandchoccy good luck!

melissa112 · 14/02/2019 16:05

@Wineandchoccy Thanks for the heads up, we do have a H&M nearby so I'll have a look.

Happy Valentine's Day all. I'm another who has washed all baby clothes, sheets etc. I've used the tumble dryer but I'm a bit miffed off to be honest. The dryer is new this month and we got it purposefully for baby stuff as stuff was taking days to dry on the clothes maiden and we were getting bad condensation and a couple of spots of black mould on the window. The dryer is grear normally and has a Babyprotect setting. I used this on some of the baby grows, taking care not to overload it and they all came out damp. I then had to put them on a normal cupboard dry setting and I'm sure some of them have shrunk. In fact i know they have as I compared an unwashed 0-3 from the same shop and it was about 2 inches longer!

I reckon my 0-3 stuff is now about 0-1.5! Sheets and blankets don't seem to have shrunk though but still. Ah well. I dread to think what size the newborn stuff is now! Will have to pack a variety of sizes in the hospital bag and make do for now.

I'm so exhausted today for some reason. Had really bad insomnia last night and then out for a ctg early this morning. Only felt 2 movements again during the ctg and that was after they gave me some water but it said it was a pass anyway Confused have another growth scan tomorrow so will see what he's upto!

melissa112 · 14/02/2019 16:06

@Wineandchoccy must have posted as you did. Best of luck for Sunday!!

@HidCat how far are you now? Looks like things are speeding up!

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 14/02/2019 16:29

Just had my 34 week appointment. Midwife just gave me some info to take away and complete my own birth plan for me to bring back at the 36 week appointment for us to discuss. She did say that baby is laying on its side with its shoulders right on my right hip. Is anyone else's laying like this? Not sure what that means birth wise. Hopefully it'll turn.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 14/02/2019 16:48

Ooh good luck @wineandchoccy. Any news on the other concern?

Tumble dryer all the way - I won't buy baby clothes that don't tumble!!! Life is too short

WhatALearningCurve · 14/02/2019 19:07

So just been for the actual growth scan after last weeks debacle.

The scan was essentially pointless. They checked for fluid which is all fine, I asked him if he could see how big baby would be now and the guy said no then sent me off to triage to be reviewed and the doctor said she’s referring me for a scan to see the growth of him to then decide if I need to have him before full term πŸ™„πŸ™„

So next week I’ll be back here for the 3rd time! Not sure why it’s taken 3 bleeding visits!

melissa112 · 14/02/2019 19:13

@WhatALearningCurve that's so frustrating! Did he say why he couldn't estimate how big baby was now? I've got another growth scan tomorrow and last time they did estimate his weight so hope they can this time. What was your scan for today if not growth?

Wineandchoccy · 14/02/2019 19:15

@SquirtlesMumAgain No apart from it’s still there and we will know more after he/she is here.

My back is in agony Sad

@WhatALearningCurve How frustrating and sounds such a waste of your time going backwards and forwards

WhatALearningCurve · 14/02/2019 19:16

@melissa112 I have no idea. The doctor went to see if they could fit me back in tonight but they said no. They just checked to see if there were high fluid levels tonight. So I guess it's a good thing that fluid is all okay, but it seems more of a certainty that I'll end up with an induction or c section now.

Both options I really wanted to avoid if possible

intelligentPutty · 14/02/2019 19:25

Hi there.
I am just reaching out to see if anyone would like or need a bag full of newborn / 0-1 month clothes. My dd was born in November and I'd love to pass them onto a good home or someone who needs them. Sleepsuits and some vests. From supermarkets and next. Mainly.
Happy to post if you want to pm me.

And congratulations on all your babies. It's the best thing ever.

Angelmiracle · 14/02/2019 19:27

@Wineandchoccy ohhh that's so soon!! You've done brilliant working all the way. Best of luck!

@HidCat that's a good sign. I can feel baby hiccups very low but still 6 weeks left so they'll probably wriggle about a bit for another while! Hope you're not kept waiting too long.

@melissa112 that's annoying about the clothes but as you say they might do for newborn stage. Hope growth scan goes well. They're keeping a good eye on him which should be reassuring for you.

Angelmiracle · 14/02/2019 19:31

Such a pain @WhatALearningCurve !! At least you'll get to see baby again and have the reassurance there's nothing to be worried about.

Definitely plenty of time to turn at 34 weeks @Assumeitwassomethingclever DS was completely transverse at 34 weeks and as big as he was he still managed to turn. Hope yours does too!

cardboard33 · 14/02/2019 19:40

Wow so much talk of imminent inductions & babies all of a sudden... scary/happy times! Good luck to everyone who has a date/is in the middle of it right now...!

@assumeitwassomethingclever mine was transverse across my tummy last week but changed completely a few days later when they checked again (it's constantly on the move) and apparently was more head down than it's ever been today (also 34 weeks) so am hoping it has decided it likes it down there and wants to stay. Hopefully it should find it's own way down over the next couple of weeks. If it's still not in an ideal position around 38 weeks I believe they will offer to try to turn it the right way (I think about half are successful, if I recall right, and you don't have to take them up on it) then if it's still completely transverse you will need to have a C section as it just can't come out any other way, or if it's breach then you'll be given a choice. I think you also get a late scan to confirm positioning if they think it's not in an ideal position but not really sure, as we've got 2 more booked in before the end anyway.

@intelligentputty how lovely of you! :) I bet someone will take you up on the offer... sounds like @melissa112 is in need of some new newborn clothes!! Grin

melissa112 · 14/02/2019 20:02

@cardboard33 Haha unfortunately I think newborn/0-1 clothes are all I have now with a 0-3 label on them🀣 I agree though, that's a lovely offer @intelligentputty

HidCat · 14/02/2019 21:25

@melissa112 36 weeks tomorrow! Not long to go now. Tumble dryers are so great for convenience but you have to watch the settings. I put the baby stuff on a standard mixed setting and it doesn't seem to cause a problem but lower heat for longer is best for longevity. It's worse when they stay in the same size for longer than a few months!

@WhatALearningCurve ugh how frustrating!

intelligentPutty · 14/02/2019 21:37

Aw that's ok. I had someone pm me so will be packaging and shipping soon. Happy to be passing to a good home. ;)

Angelmiracle · 14/02/2019 21:47

@intelligentPutty very lovely of you. Congratulations on your new baby girl.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 14/02/2019 22:18

I tumble low and slow here, we don't have a fancy dryer though - it only has high or low heat settings so use low and do it in shortish time batches (30-40 mins and check each time)

DD managed to kick DH properly earlier which was funny - he hadn't ever really felt a full on attack before, even with DS. I don't remember DS ever really kicking the same as she does so maybe she is that much bigger

Hermagsjesty · 15/02/2019 09:36

Just checking in to the new thread! Hope everyone’s okay.

I’m 38wks tomorrow. Braxton Hicks have been ramping up over last couple of days and I lost my plug this morning... Have heard 3rd labours can be very stop/ start in the early stages though so trying not to get my hopes up about how soon true labour might kick in...

SquirtlesMumAgain · 15/02/2019 09:57

Hopefully it all goes nice and smoothly for you @hermagsjesty. Definitely hitting baby arrival point now! Are you all ready?

Hermagsjesty · 15/02/2019 10:12

Thanks @SquirtlesMumAgain. I think I’m pretty much ready... Ready as you can ever be anyway! Got a feeling it could still be a few days though, trying not to over analyse ever twinge (which is much easier said than done)

SquirtlesMumAgain · 15/02/2019 11:19

Yep, definitely know what you mean - everything is here and clean! In bags too but as it is always the unknown it is just a case of best case planning!
Getting lots more aching and twining than last time. Standing up is bloomin agony, but then my body knows what it's doing this time I suppose.

CaseofEllen · 15/02/2019 11:21

Morning everyone, just checking in as haven't been on thread in a few days.

Can't believe some of you ladies are already being induced/c-section etc. It's scary but amazing! Wish you all the best of luck Thanks (can't wait to start seeing baby pictures on here!)

I've been feeling groggy the last couple of days. Slept in until 11.50 on Wednesday Shock and had to force myself out of bed this morning! I've also had three days of super wet underwear and waking up being able to feel water/discharge coming out of me. I had a speculum on Sunday and doctor said waters hadn't gone but not sure this is normal? DP thinks I should phone triage again..

Hope everybody is looking forward to the weekend xx

SquirtlesMumAgain · 15/02/2019 11:39

If you're concerned @caseofEllen definitely call them. Things could have changed by now
