@HidCat I did put it on a feedback form so hoping it will be mentioned. Theres so much of it that the whole shower cubicle would probably need to be resealed. I'm hoping for a better one when I move onto delivery. I feel gross! Gonna try and sleep now and hope tomorrow is more positive!

Angelmiracle · 08/03/2019 22:23

@melissa112 hope you get a decent rest it will make all the difference with progress. Sorry you've been miserable in hospital. At least you can vent to us!

@HidCat how are you keeping now?

@Squirtlesmumagain that's a great sign hope it continues and you have her soon.

@Assumeitwassomethingclever I get sore spots on my tummy where it feels like baby has bruised me from the inside out poking me with little boney limbs! My tummy gets super tight when the back and bum are moving about.

@BadBadBeans glad they've taken you seriously to check the nipple issue out. Hope the consultant can help you decide how to proceed regarding breastfeeding and like cardboard33 suggests perhaps plan to feed for x amount of weeks before biopsy etc would proceed. Both of you absolute warriors going through such complex health issues with pregnancy labour and babies in the mix 😍

My word, there is a lot going on!

@melissa112 thinking of you, hope things start to develop soon so you can meet your baby! (And go home!)

I need a moan. I feel really uncomfortable. Struggling to bend, pelvic pain, finding being on all 4s is the most comfy atm. I think baby has dropped! Oh and developed bloody reflux. I have been waking up hourly from midnight to 4am, then up again at 6am and 8am - for about a month now. Just accepting this will be my life for the next few years though. Playing my tiny little violin over here, I know people are going through far, far worse.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 09/03/2019 07:46

Sorry everyone struggling with discomfort.

No baby yet, but still contracting. Feeling lovely and sick this morning so I'm guessing it's all progressing slowly.
At the moment it is a 45 second ish contraction every 5 mins but these aren't strong enough to get baby out. DS is being a whiny arse this morning too... Not helpful!

Gronk27 · 09/03/2019 09:09

@hiscat so random and we have no idea how to replace the door on the shed as we inherited it.

HidCat · 09/03/2019 09:38

@Angelmiracle I'm doing ok thanks. Still constant Braxton Hicks (should be used to them by now after 2 months) but slept well last night at least. Have a headache and felt sick this morning so have taken some paracetamol and we're having a family PJ day just pottering around the house before watching the 6 Nations.

@Sictransitgloria I know the feeling, I've been struggling with the same though for me it comes and goes. Hopefully you'll get some respite soon.

@SquirtlesMumAgain fingers crossed you get some good progression soon! Sorry your DH is whining, I know they can't possibly get it but still.

MistakenHoliday · 09/03/2019 09:59

@SquirtlesMumAgain at least you know you're heading in the right direction - it won't be long now, hopefully. DS probably senses something's going on, maybe? DD has been much more tearful and reactionary over the last week or so - I think she's aware that things are changing.

Thanks @HidCat my colleague is great, as is his wife οΏΌ how are you doing?

@Sictransitgloria play away on that tiny violin - it's what we're here for!

Angelmiracle · 09/03/2019 10:19

@HidCat I hope the latent labour will mean you've bit of the work done and have a quicker delivery! Saturday plans sound great! Ive to take DS to football as DH is working and my sister wants me to keep my 4month old nephew overnight Confused who is teething! I might ask for DMs help I think it would be very exhausting through the night.

CaseofEllen · 09/03/2019 10:42

Morning everyone! Seems like we're all struggling a bit with something or another the last couple of days. Hope you're all feeling okay as can be at this point Thanks my struggle is strong period type pains overnight, I'm absolutely exhausted and still in bed Blush would love it if it turned into something more substantial but not hopeful!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 09/03/2019 10:51

Eeek @Angelmiracle - not sure a 4 month teething baby overnight would be high on my list of things to do ideally at the moment, good luck.

All eased off again now.... Bit like her pregnancy really, all full of frustration!! Sorry to whinge :(

I think you're right @mistakenholiday - he knows she is coming out soon and that will change everything. He didn't sleep well which didn't help.

Going for a long(ish) walk this afternoon - hopefully that will kick my body into action! Going to clean the bathrooms first I think.... I am definitely nesting and my body is craving carbs, so it is all labour signs just taking its time!

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 09/03/2019 12:00

Hi ladies sorry I've not been on much lately. I got admitted to the hospital on Wednesday as the fluid is still very low and my consultant is concerned the placenta is failing. We are booked for our section on Monday, I'm absolutely terrified. I just want it all over now, I'm missing my kids like crazy, missing decent meals, bored out my mind, not sleeping well, and feeling achy and crampy from being stuck in this room. Sorry for whinging just had enough now, is anyone else stuck in the hospital? How are you passing the time?

CaseofEllen · 09/03/2019 12:09

@Exhaustedmummy1811 so sorry you're having a rubbish time! No advice but glad you've got a section date, by Monday you'll be holding your new baby in your arms. Sending positive thoughts your way until then xx

Angelmiracle · 09/03/2019 12:16

I was just thinking about you @Exhaustedmummy1811. I'm sorry you've been stuck in hospital. How far on are You? Do you need steroid injections prior to the section? I think a planned ELCS will go quite smoothly. Going by what I've read and 3 friends loved theirs. They said it's very calm no fuss and baby is born quite quickly. I know you'll have a scar to contend with but keep on top of pain killers for a week or two it should be no problem.
@melissa112 can sympathise with being in hospital 🌻🌸

SquirtlesMumAgain · 09/03/2019 12:23

At least the end is in sight @exhaustedmummy1811 - sorry it isn't as you hoped but only a couple more days. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 09/03/2019 13:25

Thank you ladies, I will be 36+1 when she is born and last Monday she was weighing 5.8lb so hoping she won't be too tiny. I had the steroids Monday and Tuesday so hopefully that will mean no nicu time but my god did they hurt lol I'm so glad to finally have a date and knows its almost over. I was kind of glad when I got admitted, I thought I just get to sit in bed all day, no cleaning, no school runs, someone else cooking for me lol but the novelty is fast wearing off, I bought my tablet and book but 4 days in the boredom is getting to me haha x

SquirtlesMumAgain · 09/03/2019 14:44

That's a good size already so fingers crossed all goes well. Can someone bring you new entertainment at least being the weekend?

AssumeItWasSomethingClever · 09/03/2019 15:17

@Exhaustedmummy1811 Hope everything goes well on Monday. 😊

I was woken up last night with pressure down there... it felt like diarrhoea cramps but around my cervix area. This morning its gone but my side is still very sore. It's not contractions as it happens when I move and only goes away when I lay down. Feels like I've got a stitch. Bump hasn't dropped and I haven't lost my plug or anything like that either.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 09/03/2019 17:23

Hope you don't get any more discomfort @assumeitwassomethingclever. The false contractions are really annoying - at least you know that by moving they aren't real and while it is annoying at least it is reassuring.

CaseofEllen · 09/03/2019 17:30

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever sounds uncomfortable! Hope it goes away soon, so many painful niggles at the end of pregnancy isn't there?

Maybe a naive question here but I'm a FTM so a bit clueless.. today I've lost a lot of jelly like mucus. More than normal discharge amount and a different consistency Blush I wondered if it's my plug but there's no blood in it.. does there have to be blood for it to be your plug?

Sorry for TMI and any advice on this appreciated!

HidCat · 09/03/2019 18:15

@MistakenHoliday feeling much better this afternoon thanks. Still no sign of little one though.

@Angelmiracle I hope so - not too quick though 😬 last one was quick enough and we have to realise it's real labour, offload DS and drive 30-40 mins to hospital before getting antibiotics for GBS - last labour was 4 1/2 hrs from first contraction so it might be a bit tight time wise. Sounds like you'll have your hands full tonight. Hopefully it will be ok.

@CaseofEllen bless you hope you can find a way to ease the discomfort. Definitely sounds like the mucus plug, they're not always bloodied. I lost mine 2 days ago and it was like a big green blob. No mistaking what it was but no blood in mine either.

AssumeItWasSomethingClever hope you find some ease to your discomfort too!

@Exhaustedmummy1811 at least you only have a couple of days to go. I hope it passes quickly and you can get on with your recovery at home ASAP.

Hermagsjesty · 09/03/2019 20:05

Sorry to hear so many people are in discomfort. Having a newborn baby but might be exhausting but I can’t tell you how glad I am not to be pregnant anymore. Hang on the there, warrior women. Almosy there now!

@caseofellen sounds like it could be your plug... mine wasn’t bloodied this time, just lots of heavy discharge over several days.

@hidcat - I didn’t make it to the labour ward in time for them to get the GBS antibiotics in. But it wasn’t too much of a problem

  • just meant we had to in hospital stay for a bit longer for extra monitoring. The midwives were very vigilant and reassuring. I know ideally you’ll make it, but try not to worry too much if not.
cardboard33 · 09/03/2019 20:20

@exhaustedmummy1811 sorry to hear that you're having so many difficulties with this baby, although definitely sounds like the end is in sight. We had a scan 36 hours before I had my baby and they said in that he was 6lb 1oz (at 36+5) and he came out as 7lbs exactly so baby could weigh more than you think

@caseofellen I'm a first timer but they sounds like the mucus plug, it doesn't have to have blood in it. Mine did have blood and went gradually during the day last Saturday and when we phoned they said it could be hours or weeks until anything further happened but as I was ftm it was likely to be a few days minimum ... Cue contractions to start a couple of hours later and for him to be here less than 12 hours later. You just never know!

@assumeitwassomethingclever sounds promising though!! My contractions started with pain in my pelvis/hips and I had a number two SO many times in the initial few hours when I was at home.

Question for those who are on baby 2+ .... We went for our first walk today with pram and survived but realised he doesn't actually come up high enough to see any of his face if you put his legs at the bottom, which I know you're supposed to do ... But then how do you check that it's alive and such matters??

SquirtlesMumAgain · 09/03/2019 21:26

Do you mean because of the pram cover @cardboard33?
We didn't use the cover on the pram, just blankets. As you're watching and as long as they aren't really right at the top so they aren't squished then it should be fine.

The legs thing is more relevant when they can push off with their legs I guess as they scootch themselves along!

Still no progress here. Feel horribly sick (eugh again, thanks love!) and having odd contractions and a lot of discomfort and tightening but nothing regulating. Looks like it could be induction on Wednesday as expected anyway!

Wineandchoccy · 09/03/2019 21:54

@cardboard33 I don’t put dd with her feet to the bottom of the pram carrycot I wouldn’t be able to see her for months she is that Diddy Grin I figure that as I am pushing the pram I am with her at all times
