Eek I suppose to that works 2 ways. No check on the home that the child is being cared for in the right conditions, vs no repeat testing.
Hope they weren't any speed bumps on the way! Reminded myself today of how uncomfortable it is in the back of the car over them, and I haven't even had the baby yet!

Wineandchoccy · 24/02/2019 21:58

Here we have an ante natal health visitor appointment then a midwife comes the day after you come home and day 3 then the heel prick at the birthing centre then day 10 appointment is either at home or back at the birthing centre depending on where you live I’m classed as rural so I get a home visit. @SquirtlesMumAgain I have zero pain this time so speed bumps are ok I wasn’t saying that 4 years ago Shock

SquirtlesMumAgain · 24/02/2019 22:25

I still remember feeling every bump in the road!!!!

SharonO225 · 25/02/2019 08:52

It is official... no amount of gaviscon in this world is enough to cure my heartburn Sad this little girl will be coming out needing a blow dry!

Gronk27 · 25/02/2019 09:37

I risked my smaller pants in bed last night and I have actually garotted my hip with them. The absolute glamour. I really don't want to have to buy any more clothes in a larger size for a couple of weeks but I'm running out of option especially as so much of it is packed in the bloody hospital stuff.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 25/02/2019 10:02

I have been holding off putting the big pants in the case but it's got to the point now where I can't hold off any longer and be happy the bag will be ready if we need to grab and go!
I hope I can cope with the ones I have - guess it will just have to be more washing if needed!

Off to the anaesthetist shortly, wonder whether it will be worth the parking fee!

CaseofEllen · 25/02/2019 10:04

@SharonO225 @Gronk27 both crappy third trimester symptoms Sad I'm just so emotional and frustrated! Going from crying to raging in 0.6 seconds, my lucky DP!

CaseofEllen · 25/02/2019 10:07

@SquirtlesMumAgain I found my anaesthetist appointment really useful but I'm a FTM so not sure if it's because I literally had no experience of pain relief options etc. I hope your hospital has a nice cafe you can treat yourself in afterwards at least!

Wineandchoccy · 25/02/2019 10:46

1st time round it took me ages to shift my baby bump but I have been back in pre pregnancy jeans since day 4 this time so the big knickers I bought are falling down Shock So you can never tell what you will need or what size you will be after you have given birth.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 25/02/2019 11:02

Eugh not what I really wanted to hear. Basically saying I don't have the option of waiting for an epidural and if I am still having breathing problems then i am pretty much going to have to have one :(

CaseofEllen · 25/02/2019 11:21

@SquirtlesMumAgain so sorry you didn't get the news you were hoping for Sad of course they're just trying to do best for you and baby but it's not nice when it's not what you wanted for your birth. Sending you Thanks

Wineandchoccy · 25/02/2019 11:25

@SquirtlesMumAgain sorry it’s not what you wanted to hear Sad all I can say is I had an epidural early this time and it was such a different experience to E’s birth a lot more positive but I know it’s hard to be upset when you feel like you are being pushed into a decision

SquirtlesMumAgain · 25/02/2019 11:41

Having been through both @wineandchoccy, how did the bit after compare? The getting up and running and being able to do anything.
I hated being tied to the bed for monitoring last time and was so pleased that they do remote monitoring so I could walk around this time.

PassTheAfterEights · 25/02/2019 12:56

Hello violinists of the Marchers orchestra, hope everybody had a good weekend?

PMT cramps in the back (and the night time calf cramp!), more stabby cervix and some nausea here - although the latter could be attributable to our Sunday night Dominos accident..... I wish this was it, I know it's irresponsible but I would be so not at all sneakily delighted if this baby came now. Or maybe in 10 days when will have made it to 37 weeks and it will only screw up is DH's birthday babymoon weekend away slash still wavering over ELCS.

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever sooo pleased he has had a formal caution - hopefully that's done the trick, can't believe the police let him get that far harassing a preggo lady.
@Wineandchoccy she is goooorgeous!!! Thank you for the pic, very inspiring!!
@BadBadBeans sorry you have the stress of the odd nipple, sounds totally preggo related but it's miserable waiting for the all clear on stuff like that :/ I had a misbehaving mole since second trimester that's probably the most distressed I've been at any point in this pregnancy, obviously it's fine and connected to hormones but the stress was hideous.
@SquirtlesMumAgain sorry the anaesthetist didn't have a better plan for you & hope you are feeling OK

Hospital bag is on the agenda for us this week, in light of some of this advice I think we might need a tad more stuff than previously thought....... Are M&S high waist bikinis/briefs the way to go on the pants front? Have a H&M basket for nursing/night bras but still need to source some big t shirts or nighties - do the hospital give you anything in place of PJ's or are they not v nice??

Gronk27 · 25/02/2019 13:33

@passtheaftereights I've gone with a couple of pairs of Mothercare over bump pants, so comfy and some Primark Β£2 non maternity big pants. I have a crop top bra from primark as well and some of these www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/2-pack-maternity-nursing-sleep-bras-a9252.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAwc7jBRD8ARIsAKSUBHIb6E9sE-C500gHblyHPW8eYYsyLUUdjeuezS_ZantD5L7-gPlbxasaAmOmEALw_wcB also very comfy and roomy! I think generally people say to go for a robe and things that open up/button up. Unless a t-shirt is BF friendly it might be a pain? Although lots of fans of an up down method I've seen!

Gronk27 · 25/02/2019 13:34

Sorry that should be Β£2 for 3! And a robe OR button up/easy access garments.

Wineandchoccy · 25/02/2019 14:26

@SquirtlesMumAgain I feel so different this time day 2 walked to dd’s nursery for pick up, day 3 went for a walk plus shopping, day 4 back in normal clothes and today is day 6 and we have been out of the house since 10am I wasn’t doing any of that 1st time round.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 25/02/2019 16:18

I was discharged on day 3 before and was out walking round town with a friend at day 5. With DS I don't want to be out of action longer than needed, and that is the fear with the epidural.

Hospital may give you a gown if you have to go to theatre but I laboured in my own nightdress last time and there was no offer an alternative @passtheaftereights

Still don't feel positive about the chat especially after my midwife friend said it sounded mad to her!!!

Gronk27 · 25/02/2019 16:32

@squirtlesmumagain can you ask for a second opinion? As part of our antenatal and hypnobirthing courses both made it clear that nothing can be done without informed consent and in the acronym BRAIN(S) our antenatal lady at the hospital added in second opinion.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 25/02/2019 17:32

@Gronk27 it will be down to the assessment on the day so basically will be a second opinion I guess. Hopefully I will either be so confidently in labour I can make a decision or at the start of the induction so still have my strength. Lots of reading I guess in the meantime to see what I can do and ensure my lungs are as well as they can be

Gronk27 · 25/02/2019 17:45

@squirtlesmumagain and your birth partner can advocate for you too. Flowers

HidCat · 25/02/2019 18:51

@SquirtlesMumAgain sorry it wasn't the news you wanted to hear - fingers crossed things go better than expected so you can work around it a bit.

@PassTheAfterEights I've gone for granny knickers in my normal size as my normal knickers still fit me at 37+3. Had a laugh going through my hospital bag, I've got clothes in every size under the sun as it's a combination of bits from first time around and now and most of it is wrap around so easy to adjust. Literally size 8 to size 16!

@Wineandchoccy It's amazing that you're getting out so much so soon. With DS I simply didn't want to and didn't need to, this time I might need to get back to the school run ASAP.

Found out today my colleague is just starting IVF which means I'll be making my BA just as he and his wife are finding out if they've been successful. Got to try to be as sensitive about that as possible when I pop in to see everyone. Any tips?

SharonO225 · 25/02/2019 18:57

@SquirtlesMumAgain sorry today didn't go as u had hoped for, fingers crossed though that when the time comes it's a pleasant experience for you.

I've been at the hospital today for another growth scan and to see my consultant with a 2hr wait between the scan and actually talking to the consultant I'm 37+3 today and baby's measurements are showing as 42+4 and her weight is approx 8lbs 8oz. Consultant is concerned she's still gaining weight too quick and is now off the 95th centile so has booked an induction for 39+3 incase i I haven't went on my own before hand, she also give permission for a stretch and sweep next week at 38wks. She thinks with my history and baby's size I will most likely go early myself anyway (I really do hope so) my mum flys over on thurs evening to help out with childcare etc. I really hope I just go myself this weekend lol x

MistakenHoliday · 25/02/2019 19:05

@Wineandchoccy I'm massively impressed with your recovery! I'm planning on taking it slowly this time - with DD I tried to do things to quickly to 'prove' I was back to normal. That said, you've given me hope that I might feel like myself again a bit sooner οΏΌ

@SquirtlesMumAgain I know what you mean about being hooked up and immobile because of the epidural; it must make you feel quite vulnerable. Hopefully you'll get a second opinion on the day!

@SharonO225 that's a big baby! Don't blame you for wanting to go sooner Grin

SharonO225 · 25/02/2019 19:16

@MistakenHoliday I'm hoping their measurements are just off lol or she's just very long (we're all quite tall) at least that's what I'm telling myself!!

otherwise it could sting quite a bit Blush
