@boodles101 Just telling your mum on her wedding day would be such a lovely surprise and would probably make the day even more special for her ❣️Frankly £39 is a bargain even if you decide not to tell her until later!

Fortheloveofscience · 02/02/2019 09:41

boodles I’m torn too. I’m pretty sure we won’t tell family until after 12w but I don’t know whether to have a scan next week just to break the monotony and worry of the first trimester, even temporarily. If I could get one for £39 I’d go for it, the best I can find is £79.

Fortheloveofscience · 02/02/2019 09:42

Also boodles will it be seen as odd if you don’t drink on the wedding day? If it might be taken as you not fully “participating” in the wedding or be commented I’d probably tell first.

boodles101 · 02/02/2019 11:16

Well we are just going to the dinner, which I'll have to drive to so it won't be a massive thing if I'm not drinking. I know £39 is a bargain for a scan but I just don't know what's making me think that I should just wait.

Cheekychimp1 · 02/02/2019 12:25

Hi. Got a little confused at the different threads so back and forth between the two.
I’ve missed everyone’s due dates, mines 4th sept. Still seems bit surreal until my scan which is in three week. 9weeks this week.

I’ve only told my sister and so glad I did. Really nice having someone to vent to! She’s sorting out all her stuff to pass down to me which is fab, that's if I have a boy!

Anyone else sick after having semi skimmed milk? Thought it was a one off, but no, everytime I have cereal and tea I am sick 5-10 mins later. Still being sick about 2x daily at the moment.

My tummy looks huge and I’m really thinking it may be twins. Are all your bumps ‘hideable’. Mines getting quite hard to disguise. Just hope the next 3 week’s go fast!

Hope everyone is feeling ok x

ButtonTum · 02/02/2019 16:42

Big bump here as well @Cheekychimp1 I feel it's obviously bloat as I'm also feeling poorly with a tummy bug but today it's huge.

I've managed to get myself whatever DS brought home from nursery on Thursday. Have not even got dressed today and feel sorry for poor kid who's had to stay in all day. I feel so sick. Coughing to the point where I throw up, no appetite at all yet MS is making me need to eat. It's all a bit hideous 🤢 feeling very sorry for myself today ☹️

Hope others are having better weekends!

excitednerves · 02/02/2019 17:30

Hey @PastaSauce just saw your post from last night. I am the same. I have days where I’m really excited, then days I’m convinced they’re going to say it’s MMC. It happens but I think it’s pretty rare.

I’m just convincing myself that since there is no obvious pain or bleeding then I must be OK

When is your scan date? I’m counting down 10 days til mine.

Hope you’re not stressing too much in the next few weeks. X

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 02/02/2019 18:24

@LaBelleSausage I’m sure they could, but I think they need a whole vial of blood and I wouldn’t want to put her through the stress of all that at only 1. Took the nurse long enough to get a sample from me! Have you been tested now? Should be quick for results, mine were back by the Tuesday (after the Sat test). Fingers crossed for you!

LaBelleSausage · 02/02/2019 18:27

Yep, tested yesterday and I should get results Monday afternoon, so not long to wait.
Already had an early scan booked for Saturday morning so hopefully I’ll get extra reassurance then. I’m not even 7 weeks until Monday so from what I can tell from google, if all looks ok on that scan then it probably will be as I’m too early for any of the effects other than miscarriage.

hodgeheg92 · 03/02/2019 07:44

Hey ladies, I've been a bit quiet, took a break for a few days cos sometimes I find being aware of other people's symptoms makes me either worried I've got less or feel like I've got more. Plus I work the end of the week and just about get time to pee alone those days!

Twittle What an awful thing to happen and it must be so difficult waiting. Thinking of you.

porge123 Congrats on the positive scan outcome. @LaBelleSausage Ours are 6 days away now!! Finally getting closer! Smile I hope you don't have slapped cheek, I found out a friend wa pregnant when she was having a blood test at the same time as me. Mine was a normal 24ish weeks one (or whenever the 2nd one is) and hers was really early but cos her toddler had the pox.

What app is everyone using to track the pregnancy? I'd like one that sends emails. DH and I have a joint email account and last time Ovia sent weekly updates that he read but it isn't working this time, maybe cos I've used it before.

KLane · 03/02/2019 08:02

@hodgeheg92 That's weird! I used Ovia pregnancy last time too, but added a new due date and it has started sending me the emails again 🤷‍♀️

hodgeheg92 · 03/02/2019 08:09

@KLane I've double checked my settings but do only have it set on the weekly updates. They haven't been emailing them though I do randomly get a day one.

Karigan195 · 03/02/2019 12:22

I’m running out of clothes that fit :(. Tried to find some work trousers yesterday and failed completely. Couldn’t find any maternity style clothes near me. Think I might need to take a trip to chester. Anyone have any recommendations where to try?

stroan · 03/02/2019 12:58

H&M, Mamas and Papas, Mothercare, Debenhams and New Look are the only high street places I’ve ever found clothes.

I’ve just ordered stuff from H&M, Matalan and ASOS. Can’t get into any jeans and dresses are starting to get a bit too snug.

BBell2 · 03/02/2019 13:39

Agree with Stoan, New look provided me most bits and h&m or Asda for nursing bras (I just bought once and used extenders). Asos too. Cant remember where my Jean's were from (maybe mamas and papas) but I remember I LOVE them....will be digging them out in no time!

KLane · 03/02/2019 14:45

Definitely H&M and ASOS! I have a few bits from Jojomaman as well. Love the ASOS jeans. eBay is really good for dresses and non staple pieces as you can get Seraphine/Jojo at a fraction of the cost.

Karigan195 · 03/02/2019 14:47

Brilliant thank you ladies.

LaBelleSausage · 03/02/2019 15:15

Chester is pretty poor for maternity clothes. H&M in the forum has a few bits, and there’s a tiny selection of things in Jojo but actually the new look website and Asos were the most useful last time for me.
Haven’t looked for a couple of years though

MunchyMunchkin · 03/02/2019 16:34

Second eBay or fbook marketplace for second hand stuff. It’s all barely worn and much cheaper.

Easterbuns1 · 03/02/2019 16:54

I was lucky enough to get a bundle cheap on fb marketplace that was all immaculate, picked up another bundle on fb so just need a pair of shorts and some vests later on when the weather improves!

yorkshiretealass · 03/02/2019 16:56

First time on this thread!

I'm nearly 9 weeks and I'm a bit concerned things are moving slowly with hospital/midwife. I've finally got my booking in appointment which is just over 2 weeks away when I'm 11 weeks. I don't have a 12 week scan date yet and I'm guessing I'll get that at my booking in appointment. Given the slow progress getting my referral and booking in appointment, I'm not convinced I'll have a scan date the following week when I'm 12 weeks!

My hospital has a very busy maternity ward so I know I need to be patient, but I might give them a call tomorrow to see if I can book in my 12 week scan then just in case they're filling up. Any thoughts from anyone who has done this before?

This is my first pregnancy so not sure of the process, and reading the posts on this thread it seems everyone has a completely different process with their midwife/local hospital.

Teddie1 · 03/02/2019 17:10

Hi there!

I've joined from the other September due date thread which I started because I didn't realise this one already existed!

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and feeling like a WHALE - hungry ALL THE TIME!!! But still nauseous and food averted as well so always have no idea what I want. So basically eating beige 24/7. Please tell me this gets better!

Also just read the tips of maternity clothes from Facebook marketplace - had a look and looks like this will save me lots of money - thanks guys! Grin
Xx

BBell2 · 03/02/2019 17:39

Hi ladies, welcome!
@Yorkshiretealass I'm similarly concerned - booking in at 9.5wks and no scan date. I was supposed to see a new mental health team too and no date but asked to come off meds... all a bit backwards and slow. Considering your user name we might be in a similar area and last time all my appointments felt lage compare to the rest of my board.

Lavellan · 03/02/2019 20:32

Had my early scan today (£39) and it went great. Everything fine, the guy found bean super quickly and said heart rate 174. They gave me a later date but going to wait till 12 wk scan till I take that as gospel.

BBell2 · 03/02/2019 21:13

@Lavellan - I made this for the week ahead, quite seasonal and I upped the ginger, made it a few weeks ago - put some creme fresh in once it was warmed and it was lovely (even toddler ate it and OH text to say it was nice): www.bbc.com/food/recipes/roasted_butternut_squash_10281
