twiglet · 26/01/2019 09:32

Congratulations @MrsY87!

@bubblybrit I feel your pain I've had pregnancy insomnia since late October it really is horrible!
I found listening to yoga nidra (plenty of free ones on YouTube) when I first got into bed helped and if I was then awake again for a while. Didn't work every time but as its relaxation it would help even if I didn't get to sleep. Apparently due to the relaxation element 1 hr can equal 4 hrs sleep. I only do the 25 min ones but definitely don't feel as tired.

It's a bit hippy/dippy at first and make sure you find a voice you like (I can't stand the American ones) but there are pregnancy ones.

HugoBearsMummy · 26/01/2019 10:42

Sorry to moan but has anyone else just HAD ENOUGH lol 😭. 35+3 now and had to go in for monitoring yesterday due to loss of waters but it dried up by time I got out

HugoBearsMummy · 26/01/2019 10:44

Woops posted too soon by time I got to hospital it had dried up, baby all fine etc which is good. But I'm suffering with SPD and just feel so irritable and in pain I just can't wait till next Friday when I go on mat leave !!

AliceRR · 26/01/2019 10:52

@HugoBearsMummy I’m not really fed up yet actually(!) but have the SPD / PGP so can understand that. Sometimes getting out of the car and turning over in bed hurts quite a lot!! Also feel quite uncomfortable and a bit sick after a meal especially at night.... I finished work yesterday at 37+5 and think it was about the right time

AliceRR · 26/01/2019 10:52

well the right time for me anyway

HugoBearsMummy · 26/01/2019 11:02

I wasn't due to go on mat leave till the 8th but the pain from the SPD is just too much now and I don't get any opportunity to rest on my days off as I have a very active 3yr old to rush round after! So I desperately need some me time. Hubby tries to help out as much as poss but he runs a building firm and is currently also undertaking massive renovations on our own property so life is bloody hectic. Just sick of being in pain all day every day and yes yes to the heartburn suffering so bad with it it's horrible. Feel so bad as it should be a joyous time expecting a new baby but I'm just so knackered. Roll on 4 and a bit weeks I hope she's not late!!!

hayley013 · 26/01/2019 11:05

@HugoBearsMummy I'm not enjoying this time at all either, lots of pain and heartburn and no sleep is not enjoyable. Plus the urge to do things instead of resting, and a 4yo to entertain, I'm just willing the weeks away now x

bubblybrit · 26/01/2019 11:11

Thank you @twiglet. I didn’t get to sleep until around 5am this morning so willing to try anything. Will have a look online later this afternoon!

HugoBearsMummy · 26/01/2019 11:13

@hayley013 it makes it worse as I'm usually such an active person, always 100 mile an hour and on the go and now I think If I didn't have DS to look after I'd literally just wallow in bed all day haha! Don't remember feeling this rubbish when pregnant before, or maybe that's just nature's way of getting you to procreate again, you forget all the bad bits Hmm

babyp160 · 26/01/2019 12:12

I'm just tired most of the time. Baby seems to think as I lay down about 11pm it's time to partayyyyyyy! OH fell asleep with hand on bump and even the kicks woke him up!

At a party tonight and I bet he sleeps until my head hits the pillow lol 🙈

powkin · 26/01/2019 14:49

Really tired and grouchy today, parents have pissed me off massively but can’t be bothered to go into it! Have managed to really overextend myself over the next few days with lots of travel by public transport and I really can’t be bothered. I know it’ll be nice to see people and I’ll probably feel better for it but feels like too much hard work right now :(

I think a big part of it is me feeling quite down about leaving work and missing everyone, it’s going to be a big adjustment as it’s been a hugely positive part of my life.

Yakadee · 26/01/2019 16:48

So today I've done (more) washing etc and the moses basket and carseat are officially ready to use! We've also finally decorated her room - I'm ready for her now (well, on Tuesday!).

Hope everyone is OK today x

Susannach · 26/01/2019 17:34

@ MrsY87 Wonderful news, congratulations! Amazing that you were able to deliver twins naturally too, what a Star Hope you all have a speedy recovery.

hayley013 · 26/01/2019 17:55

@HugoBearsMummy this will be my second child and it's a completely different experience this time round. No napping when you need rest, life just still happens and it's busy. I'm usually very active too, think that's why I'm struggling to rest when I can ie when she's at school, I'm worn out.

@babyp160 baby starts gymnastics as soon as I lie down in bed too, although i like to know she's active consistently at that time it is just draining.

I'm having a moany day today can you tell 😂

@MrsY87 are you and babies home yet? X

MrsY87 · 26/01/2019 18:35

Thanks for the congratulations! We got discharged this afternoon so are back home and now the fun of 4 kids under 5 really begins! DH is cooking me a rare steak for dinner, I can't wait! Smile

lanalawr · 26/01/2019 19:21

So pleased you're home @MrsY87

I'm another one who's grumpy and tired. My patience with dd is nowhere near where it usually is. Dh had a little lie in this morning (to be fair he's been getting up with her in the nights). When he did get up I went and had a little cry in the shower. Also been getting fanny daggers and bh today I think.

Since2016 · 26/01/2019 19:31

Finally got everything out of the loft. Poor DD is having a little trouble with it all. V excited but also tantrumy. Wanting to lie in the pram etc...

Luckily her bday is thurs so that should help - big fuss!

Sorry to hear re those with insomnia I had it badly with DD it’s horrible! Just take naps while you can! No 2 is a different ballgame!!
