So I was unsure whether or not I just had lots of discharge or my waters have gone, thought better safe than sorry so went in and they have! She now has till 10:30am tomorrow to make moves or I'll be getting induced! Just super excited to be meeting her so soon Grin

I'm still having contractions... about 7 mins apart and 45s long and getting quite intense now - have to stop what I'm doing and concentrate on breathing through them. Quite relieved that I'll be induced tomorrow as I couldn't bear the thought of going on with this for days!

@detachablehoof We maybe birth day buddies! 😬 I think I'm getting contractions now but there every 15/20 minutes so I'm just trying to ignore them for now!

Ooo exciting! Good luck everyone and congratulations to the new babies today! It's all happening now! I think I'm getting the start of pains, had cramps for days but now getting some back pains and a bit more often, fingers crossed. Couldn't really time them though as they're really mild so can't really pinpoint the beginning and end x

Our gorgeous daughter, Anna, arrived on the 12th Feb at 10.40pm.

She is just perfect 😍!!

Arrived at the hospital at 10pm and she was born 40 mins later. Had planned on epidural but clearly that wasn’t happening lol 😂 relied on gas and air only. Which was rubbish and didn’t do much for me I must say. However, Anna is totally worth it!!

BF going reasonably well although she is a little lazy when sleepy. She latches on but doesn’t suckle....trying to make her more alert but she would rather sleep! Try and try again!!

Congrats on all others who have welcomed their own special person xx

Well, as the memes say “that escalated quickly” and my little boy is here.
First contraction just before midday yesterday and by 1:30 they were less than 2 minutes apart and agony (turns out he’d turned back to back). By the time I got to the hospital at 15:00 there was often less than a minute between them and I was 4.5cm. The contractions were relentless, the pool and it’s warm water helped a little but honestly I could barely get over one contraction before the next started (sometimes less than 30 seconds between according to the trace they insisted on when I got out of the pool). Had an injection to try and slow the contractions down (still 4 every ten minutes but a bit more bearable) but it only last 40 minutes and they came back in full force less than a minute apart. In all managed about 8 hours of these ridiculously close contractions before I had an epidural - which i’d sworn i’d never have - and then carried on for another 5 before they said baby’s heart rate was too high and I wasn’t progressing so I needed a section. He was born within the half hour and is absolutely gorgeous.
It turned out he had the cord wrapped around his neck twice and they think he has an infection (which they suspected due to the rapid contractions as it’s not normal and can be cause by infection apparently) so he’s in the NICU with extra oxygen. But he’s a big baby, feeding well and seems very happy so they’re optimistic he’ll be out and with me in the next day or two.
Congrats to all the other new moms and I hope all of you yet to have your babies have them in your arms soon!

Congratulations to all new mummies. I'm so jealous. Two more days of work and then it will be operation get this baby out! 38+2 now so hopefully not much longer.

18 hours of contracting and they're still averaging 7 mins apart! Getting a lot more intense though 😩

@Yakadee argh! That sounds horrendous! Please tell me you at least had a local anaesthetic? It's true that it's all worth it but not pleasant at the time. I don't think the lack of control helps. It needs doing but there isn't anything you can do to help.

Congratulations @AmberRose17, @bubblybrit and @Surprisedmom ! That sounds like a really intense situation @Surprisedmom But glad that he's arrived safely. Hope he's out with you soon.

Good luck @Leonora94 and @detachablehoof . I hope you both have some progress tonight.

And another baby joins the crew... Grayson was born yesterday at 2.51pm, weighing 6 pounds 9. So all the scans were wrong and he wasn't a giant baby! Labour was intense and hard work but I did it naturally and drug free. Felt very fierce. He's adorable and has red hair!!

@Camsie30 @bubblybrit Congratulations! 💕 I'm really hoping I join the club sooner rather than later, contractions are every 6 minutes now lasting at least a minute but I can still talk through them, going to go for a casual 2am bath now...I know the advice says try to sleep but who can actually do that?!

Congratulations Surprisedmom and Camsie! And good luck Leonora and @detachablehoof — your labour sounds a lot like mine with DD1, a looonnng slog. Try to stay as rested/fed as possible (ha, I know) and keep the end goal in mind. I found the not knowing when really tough, but DD did arrive in the end, and it was a straightforward natural labour and birth despite the long build-up.

Thanks ladies. Anna didn’t settle well last night. She could only be calm when I was cuddling her or trying to feed her. Needless to say that I’m exhausted this morning!

New to BF which is more difficult than I thought. She seems to have taken to left breast only. Trying to latch correctly but it’s still a bit painful...not sure if that’s normal as body adjusts or whether I need to find a better position? Also she sometimes does large feeds (15 mins say) and then really short feeds (only 1-2 mins and then rejects nipple!). Again not sure what is ‘normal’. Thankfully midwife coming for first visit at some point today.

Good luck to those waiting on their babies. Fingers crossed things will happen soon!! Xx

Babies are coming thick and fast now! Congrats all!!

I kind of feel like I should know what I’m doing... with this being my third, but.. my youngest is 11 now, so it’s been a while.. and this pregnancy is completely different to how I remember.

But, is it normal to be in pain most of the time? Not just joint/pelvis pain.. but bump pain? Also, I feel permanently damp, I’d put it down to watery discharge but it’s just occurred to me that perhaps I shouldn’t be brushing it off...?

I’m due today, and I remember with my others still being pretty active at this point, walking for a mile up a steep hill for example, aching but not actually being too restricted.

I’m getting paranoid that I’m being too blasé about it, or am I going the other way and perhaps being neurotic?? My own thoughts are annoying me 🙄
