I can sympathise @Since2016. My dd has a meltdown earlier because we wouldn't let her climb on the table to sit in the bouncer. She's already been in the bassinet for the pram and hidden in it (while it was on the floor) and spent ages sitting in the bouncer playing (again on the floor). I'm hoping she stops when the baby actually arrives otherwise I know I'll have two children sat in the same thing at the same time.

HugoBearsMummy · 26/01/2019 21:58

@hayley013 I love having a moan these days! Feel sorry for DH. Most evenings he keeps out my way lmao 😂

Since2016 · 26/01/2019 22:27

I know @lanalawr she got in the car seat earlier too! She likes the buggy board though - we’ve made a big deal out of it being hers and not for the baby. She ended up going to bed with ‘one of the baby’s toys’ aka a baby toy she had, as a consolation prize. I’m hoping her birthday presents provide some distraction!

On an aside - I can’t find the newborn insert for the car seat ffs. Anyone know whether I can manage without?

@Since2016 I've kept her out of the car seat by putting the rain cover on it. She wasn't impressed. I don't think you'd get away without the newborn insert in any seat - what is your seat? You could contact the manufacturer to ask though.

Since2016 · 26/01/2019 22:41

No I know I’m kind of freaking about it - it’s in the loft somewhere but DH can’t find it. I may have to contact them and ask!!

It’s a silver cross simplicity. It defintely needs the insert as in hindsight DD was in it for months with the insert comfortably without issue and she was 9.11 at birth and this baby is def on track to be smaller!

Silver cross may be able to send you a new one. Or there's eBay. I wouldn't recommend it for a seat but it's probably ok for an insert as long as it's the right one.

Since2016 · 27/01/2019 00:11

Have told DH he has to locate it!

So tired. Middle of the night tantrums here 👌🏻

I had a late tantrum tonight too. Bought a new mattress for the Moses basket and can't find it anywhere! It has definitely arrived and is in the house somewhere... so odd!

powkin · 27/01/2019 07:09

No children here but do have a cat that’s got back into the habit of crying for food at around 6am!

We’ve been doing the cry it out method 😂 I think he’s also scared of wind bless him.

Going to have to get up for a wee but have to wait for him to stop meowing so he doesn’t think his tactic has worked! Ridiculous!

Definitely getting more grouchy, and not just because of pain. A man on the tube’s jeans were annoying me yesterday - I didn’t like the texture 🤣

Yakadee · 27/01/2019 07:33

39 weeks today! 🎉 2 more sleeps until baby arrives! Feeling exited xx

AliceRR · 27/01/2019 10:21

@Yakadee So exciting! I’m 38 weeks today! Probably sounds silly but every Sunday morning I like to read my app for what size baby is etc that week 😊

Yakadee · 27/01/2019 10:43

@AliceRR - not silly at all, me too! This morning I was thinking, 'yay, last time I'll look at this'!! I can't believe the day is nearly here, bet I'll be a nervous wreck tomorrow! X

AliceRR · 27/01/2019 11:23

@Yakadee I can imagine you would be nervous. I suppose that’s one advantage of not knowing when baby is going to show up! I’m sure everything will be fine though and you get to meet your baby soon x

Yakadee · 27/01/2019 11:36

@AliceRR - I was induced with my first so not that different really in terms of knowing I guess. I'm mostly just excited to get it over with and get baby here. Hoping for a much better experience than the first time around too 🤞

beckyxo · 27/01/2019 12:48

Hello everyone,

I hope you don't mind me messaging you all. I'm looking for some advice... This morning whilst I was washing up I suddenly had a massive urge to push.. Sorry this is a bit TMI it felt like I needed to do a massive poo. But it was enough for me to keel over and grab the side. Is this normal? I've tried ringing the midwife but they aren't answering. Has this happened to anyone else? It only lasted 20 seconds max and I haven't had anything since. I have felt her move so I know she's ok but still a bit worried. I'm 36 + 5. xx

Yakadee · 27/01/2019 13:06

@beckyxo - hi! The only time I've ever had this is when I was in labour ready to push so not sure if it can happen before you're ready? What did it feel like? Could you stop it? X

beckyxo · 27/01/2019 13:15

@Yakadee it felt like my body was trying to push... I couldn't stop it.. but my waters haven't broken and I don't think I've lost my plug.. it wasn't painful. It was just an overwhelming urge and was quite uncomfortable. I've had an increase of discharge over the last few weeks so I'm not sure if that's something to do with it. Could it be her moving further down? Sorry it's all a bit grim! 🙈 This is my first baby so not sure what to expect xx

Yakadee · 27/01/2019 13:20

@beckyxo - don't apologise it's fine. I can't say I've ever heard of this but that doesn't mean it doesn't. You say you tried to call your midwife. Is there another number you could try, like triage or maternity assessment? X

Yakadee · 27/01/2019 15:06

@beckyxo - how're you getting on? X

beckyxo · 27/01/2019 15:53

@Yakadee Thank you for asking after me! I finally managed to get through to someone and was sent to the main hospital. I've been on a monitor and her heartbeat is strong so that's a relief and she isn't in distress. They've checked me over and my waters haven't broken so that's good news and there is no infection. They reckon it could be her moving down and pressing against my cervix so it's starting to soften.. I measuring a week ahead anyway and my dates are a bit funny so they reckon it could just be a sign she is on her way. Or failing that I have constipation/ trapped wind.. I'm hoping it's the first haha! 😂🙈 So I have to keep an eye on it and if it happens again I have to go straight in xx

Yakadee · 27/01/2019 17:22

@beckyxo - that's good, at least you know now. X

powkin · 27/01/2019 19:20

@Yakadee I’m not sure I want to know when it’s going to be ‘time’ for me! I don’t think I could handle it!

Having said that I have a weird feeling that things are starting to move towards birth day - some mild period crampy feelings etc, I’ll probably be laughing at myself for thinking this in a few weeks when I’m begging them to induce me!

lanalawr · 27/01/2019 19:25

Glad all is looking good @beckyxo it's so difficult to know.

I'm a bit worried I'll miss the start of things if my waters don't go straight away (just based on my experience with dd). Dh is concerned he'll miss the whole thing if our childcare doesn't arrive in time. I feel a bit under pressure to make sure that doesn't happen.

Celebelly · 27/01/2019 19:31

I've been feeling quite period-ish last few days. Just that dull kind of ache in abdomen/lower back. Might just be the pressure from her moving down. Got growth scan tomorrow (I'll be 38+2) to see how big she's looking. Will be weird to see her so close to delivery - had assumed the next time I saw her would be when she came out!
