@powkin - I've been thinking about you! Congratulations on baby. So sorry it wasn't exactly the way you'd wanted but have to echo the others, you've done so fantastic. Baby is eating and you will recover. Take the help where you can xxx

maxiflump1 · 08/02/2019 07:33

Huge congratulations @powkin. Sounds like you had a rough ride but hope you and your little girl can go home soon.

@babyp160 bless you: you've had an epic few days! How you're doing ok and you get a baby today!

lanalawr · 08/02/2019 07:55

@powkin congratulations on the arrival of little powkin. I'm sorry you've had such a difficult and traumatic time. I hope you and baby are doing well now.

HugoBearsMummy · 08/02/2019 09:22

@AvoidingMarking sorry to hear of your miscarriage SadI remember what bad contractions felt like but I didn't have any little ones it went from 0-60 where I was induced.
Well! I've had a nightmare Cos my mum decided to go visit her friend 4 hours away for one week from this weds till next, DH has no family (brought up in care) and I'm NC with mine so have had to rely on friends to cover the time she's away in case anything happens and it's one of the days DS isn't at preschool. Really annoying and a bit thoughtless but never mind. I'm sure you'll be ok an hour isn't too long away... did you have a fast labour last time?

hayley013 · 08/02/2019 09:56

Congratulations @powkin I hope you're both ok and home soon.

39 weeks today for me, I've had an increase in Bh and cramps all week, nothing too painful or progressive though, then woke with a lovely sore throat this morning, not happy!

Lookingforadvice123 · 08/02/2019 10:04

Congratulations since2016 and powkin!

Sorry to hear you had a horrible time though powkin, I agree you should try and request a de-brief if you can. Hope you're both ok.

I'm 38+2 today and have a d&v bug, ideal - not! Fingers crossed I'm over the worst of it but I felt so ill all day yesterday and have been in bed for about 14 hours with intermittent d&v. Last episode was a couple of hours ago so I'm really hoping that's it although I'm paranoid about dehydration as I wasn't keeping water down.

I just hope it doesn't trigger labour as I know that can happen.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 08/02/2019 10:53

39+1 today, and my little monster has spun round so that I can now feel his back pushing the left side of my bump and him kicking/punching the right side instead of the other way around.
Same levels of discomfort but it feels so odd after him being the other way for weeks previously. I want him to turn back!! 😂

bubblybrit · 08/02/2019 11:31

Congratulations @powkin. Sounds as if you have had a tough time. Main thing is that baby has arrived safely and is doing well. Hope you also start to feel better soon x

AliceRR · 08/02/2019 12:27

Congrats everyone. Hope everyone is doing ok.

I’m not showing any signs of labour but seem to have reached the stage where people are texting me to ask if I’ve had the baby... No I haven’t yet... 🙄

AmberRose17 · 08/02/2019 12:50

40+3 today and wondering if I’m getting some signs. I had a sweep yesterday and the midwife said my cervix was ‘favourable’, soft and stretchable to 1cm but not yet dilated, baby’s head is very low (she said she could touch it easily Shock) and his back is against my bump so position is good for labour. Had period pains/ lots of pelvic pressure in the night and weird sensation that I can only describe as when you have a tampon in that’s a bit uncomfortable. Plus super weepy and emotional this morning (is that a labour sign??) . But nothing like contractions (though tbh I have no idea as baby #1 was cut out before 40 weeks due to breech presentation), no sign of the mucus plug and no waters breaking)...

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 08/02/2019 13:09

@AliceRR my mother is doing the daily messages too, very annoying!!

If there was anything she needed to know, I’d text her! 🙄

AliceRR · 08/02/2019 13:21

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking Exactly! Yesterday I was on the phone to my Mum and she said “so are you at the hospital now?” I wasn’t and I’m not sure why she thought I was 🤔

detachablehoof · 08/02/2019 13:45

I have had SO many people say (to my face) "have you had the baby yet?"

Really?! I look like a hippo... Surely it's fairly obvious 😂

My wedding ring was getting so uncomfortable and I managed to wrench it off... but now I can't get it back on again 🙄

Celebelly · 08/02/2019 13:56

Due tomorrow and I've just lost my mucus plug! Fingers crossed something is starting to happen...

detachablehoof · 08/02/2019 14:16

@celebelly I'm so jealous 😂

Celebelly · 08/02/2019 14:22

Don't be - it was legitimately gross Blush I wailed 'IT'S LIKE A SLUG' to DP, who doesn't seem impressed! Haha.

mummymummymummummum · 08/02/2019 14:32

@Celebelly I had a conversation with my husband about the plug. The upshot was that he would like to see it, just because we heard so much about it!

No sign of one yet though, 2nd baby, 39+5.

Lookingforadvice123 · 08/02/2019 14:36

Oh Yey celebelly that's exciting! I think I lost mine about 24 hours before I had DS, maybe you'll have a due date baby!

AvoidingMarking · 08/02/2019 15:16

@Lookingforadvice123 Hope you are feeling better. I had one on Tuesday/Wednesday too and was paranoid about the same thing

detachablehoof · 08/02/2019 15:18

MW didn't do a sweep as there baby isn't fully engaged. But has booked me in for one on Monday. And induction is booked for Thursday. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 08/02/2019 15:45

My other half would love ours to come on his due date (valentine’s), but I highly doubt it’ll happen.. I’d be happy too, anything to avoid induction 😬

AliceRR · 08/02/2019 15:59

My due date is 10th but I quite like the idea of having a Valentines baby. My brother’ birthday is on Valentine’s Day too

My bump is feeling hard. May just be BH but I’m hoping something might happen soon

AutumnLee12 · 08/02/2019 19:01

39+1 and I feel like/hope he might make an appearance soon. I had a sweep on Wednesday and mw said I was about 1cm and a bit dilated, and I've lost some of my mucus plug today I think! Still no sign of contractions (not that I know what they feel like) but some period like cramps. I don't want to get too excited incase we're still waiting a while!

Surprisedmom · 08/02/2019 19:01

This may seem like a random question but is it possible i’m having Braxton Hicks and not realising? I say this just because people keep describing it as your bump being tight. I feel like my bump is almost always tight - he’s a big baby and there’s no real fat cushion (even the midwife said ‘ooh it’s all baby’) so my bump is often tight feeling. Also sometimes I think it’s extra tight but then baby moves so I can’t be sure if the tightness was him moving or maybe a Braxton Hick that then means he moved.

detachablehoof · 08/02/2019 19:12

@Surprisedmom it's definitely possible. I've never been aware of having BH but sometimes my bump is so hard and I'm assuming that's what it must be!
