@fullofquestion poor you having been kept up in the night. So crap when u need rest! I hate the waiting game I'd rather just know a date and time I'm such a control freak haha.

Baby 2019 born at 10am today - 7.6 lb - all went fine although the procedure was terrifying - I think a lot to do with trauma from DD birth. Latched immediately, super calm and although I was a bit shell shocked I’m doing super well and so is she!

@fullofquestion sounds like you definitely need a good nights sleep, if there is such a thing at this stage! Fingers crossed for tonight.

Definitely sounds as though your body is doing like some good preparation work though!

@bubblybrit We didn’t make a final call on our DS’ name until a good couple of days after he was born - nice to meet them first and see what feels right.

Celebelly · 07/02/2019 17:41

Congrats @Since2016 !

AngelaB06 · 07/02/2019 17:42

Congrats @Since2016, glad you’re both doing well. Smile

AngelaB06 · 07/02/2019 17:44

@HugoBearsMummy the glamour never ends! Period pains are definitely a good sign...

Would be so nice to have a date rather than all this symptom spotting (it’s as bad as when TTC!)

lanalawr · 07/02/2019 17:57

Congratulations @Since2016 !

Susannach · 07/02/2019 19:28

bubblybrit · 07/02/2019 19:46

Congratulations @Since2016. So glad that you are both doing well x

@AngelaB06. I’m feeling a bit better now that others hadn’t decided on a name before the birth of their DC! Just want to make the right decision x

HugoBearsMummy · 07/02/2019 20:00

Congrats @Since2016 ! Thanks

Yakadee · 07/02/2019 20:40

@Since2016 - congratulations! It's a very strange thing isn't it! So glad you're both doing well.

Hoping the others are progressing / holding their babies now x

detachablehoof · 07/02/2019 20:44

Seeing the midwife tomorrow and hoping I'll get an induction date. (currently 40+3)
SO scared but also so over being pregnant!

AvoidingMarking · 07/02/2019 23:36

@HugoBearsMummy I feel the same as I was induced I don't know how it will be when it starts naturally! That's why I posted last night about discharge in case that could be a sign. I actually messaged my friend last night and said I can't remember what contractions feel like! Which is silly as I had a miscarriage in April and had them for 36 hours then so they should be in my recent memory!

Most of my anxiety around labour is about what we will do with DD and if mum will be able to get here before we need to go to the hospital (lives 1hr away).

@Since2016 congratulations! Hope you get to go home soon.

AvoidingMarking · 07/02/2019 23:37

@detachablehoof did you have a sweep last time? If not I would ask if you're fed up.

detachablehoof · 07/02/2019 23:40

@avoidingmarking no I've never had one and MW has never mentioned it. Bit scared tbh (which is daft as I guess it's nothing compared to giving birth 😂)

Since2016 · 07/02/2019 23:48

Good luck to those in the induction pathway and those overdue / fed up.

All fine here - super manageable in comparison to last time and baby is a dream! But I have urine retention again so I’m staying in till sat now - gutted as I wanted to go home tomorrow. Catheter joy.

The ward is lovely and quiet though - amazing!!!!

@detachablehoof from what I remember, they aren't that bad. They just stretch the cervix and run their fingers round a bit to agitate the area.

Last time I had two and was told that if it was going to make anything happen it would happen within 24 hours and that's it's the most natural form of 'induction' they are able to do. It's worth considering if you're fed up!

Celebelly · 08/02/2019 00:06

@detachablehoof I had a sweep yesterday and it was fine. A bit uncomfortable like a smear but not particularly painful and over very quickly. Took about 20 secs or so. Just a weird feeling, really!

Still pregnant, alas!

maxiflump1 · 08/02/2019 03:51

Congratulations @Since2016. Glad it was a positive experience after your first birth.

I have a totally nocturnal baby here: been wide awake since midnight 😴

powkin · 08/02/2019 05:51

Baby Pip was born around 4.30/5pm last night by emergency c section. Everything that could go wrong did it seemed, but all is well now. I’m not sure if all the drugs and the stress had made breastfeeding more difficult but we’ve had to use formula so far.

I don’t actually know what she weighs, it was such a trauma and we’ve had so little time to ask questions like that when we’ve had so many others!

AmberRose17 · 08/02/2019 06:32

Aww @powkin HUGE congratulations that’s she’s here and I’m so sorry things didn’t go well for you. Have been thinking of you a lot. Honestly try not to worry about feeding or the mode of delivery. You have done an incredible thing growing and creating a whole actual human being. The main thing now is to look after yourself and to get to know her. Sending you lots of good wishes Flowers

Notquiteagandt · 08/02/2019 06:39

@powkin congratulations...!! You did it. My induction also ended rather dramatically in an emergancy c-section too. Baby is being fed thats all that matters. It took about 2 days for all the drugs etc to leave the baby and for her to seem more awake etc. I actually asked mw if something was up as id not seen her open her eyes for her 1st 2 days.

But hold on in there. You have got this 💪 so has baby. You just need a little longer and a little more help to work together Flowers

Has anyone debriefed you on what happened? I got offered trauma councillling. At 1st I was like nope just want to put behind me. But as the week went on it was all playing over in my mind. So that really helped me. Just a thought.

Since2016 · 08/02/2019 06:55

Oh congratulations @powkin - EMCS can feel v traumatic so v usual. Re the feeding - remember babies need to learn too, ask for some 1:1 support, at the beginning they take in such a small amount it’s just about the technique. I’d second a debrief / I didn’t with my first and it definitely contributed to undiagnosed PND. What matters is baby is here. Congratulations mummy!
