@babyp160 she is jaundice on the bilibed to. So they are putting alot down to that. She needs to gain weight and sort her jaundice before we go home. Whilst she has a little sunbed and double feeds.

She is a little greedy guts shes bf but been put on double rations so I feed myself then give her bottle ive expressed or donner milk.

Pumping every 3 hours amd feeding every 3 hours minimum. Although she wants it alot more.

She was birn at 37wks, induced and ended up with an emergancy section. So they said all those things will play a part too.

Im just glad they have said im doing well and to keep it up. And not once mentioned formula

AvoidingMarking · 07/02/2019 06:37

Well done @Notquiteagandt. Glad they are being supportive of your choice to feed.

Make sure you look after yourself too- lots of oats and keep hydrated as that will all help baby.

Hope things are improving @babyp160

So baby is due on the 16th and DH and I still can’t decide on a name. I’m finding it super stressful!

We have narrowed the list to our top two girls names but we each have a preference for a different name on the list. Mine reminds me of ‘baby’ when I say it whereas his reminds me of family friend (we aren’t calling baby after her but it is the same name!). I feel that she won’t have her own identity if we use that name as I’ll always associate it when someone else. Not sure if I’m being a bit silly though?

Also I would like one middle name only. Ideally my mums but DH is adamant that if we use my mums name that we also need to include his mums. So would be two middle names and MIL name isn’t ‘pretty’. She doesn’t even like it herself so really don’t want baby to have it. Probably being unreasonable here but I’ve picked another middle name to avoid any arguments whereas I really want my mums!

Has anyone had similar concerns? If so then how did you decide without world war 3 kicking off? Lol 😂 xx

Camsie30 · 07/02/2019 08:11

@bubblybrit I'm still not decided on a name, it's stressful! When I was pregnant with my daughter I decided at around 20 weeks but am finding a boy's name so much harder. Luckily being a solo parent I don't have to please anyone else! Would like to use my grandfathers' names as middle names and can't really use one without the other...

Kentishgal · 07/02/2019 10:24

Fingers crossed you'll hear positively soon Reginaphalange89. Discharged from hospital in the night - had bloods and chest xray - no pneumonia - just bad infection / early stage sepsis but have more antibiotics so fingers crossed. Gp suggested phoning midwife to arrange reassurance scan - spoke to her - she couldn't remember me and thought I'd already had the baby - she then said "just wait for your 20 week scan and you'll soon find out if baby is ok". Just sat in bed in tears. And work are being shitty. Might just pay for scan next week when I'll hopefully be feeling better. Sorry to bring the mood down, just want a rant!

mummymummymummummum · 07/02/2019 10:39

I'm feeling like today we'll have a few new babies! Good luck girls!

Induction can be shit, so I'm feeling for those of you in hospital waiting. Hang in there! 🙌

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 07/02/2019 10:42

I’m due a week today, we can’t decide on a name either. I’m not stressing about it though... I find it strange to have 100% decided on a name before I’ve seen my baby. What if he doesn’t look like the name I’ve chosen?

My second child didn’t have a name for 3-4 days, and that’s ok.

A name will come, of all the things to think about right now, that’s really not on my list of priorities 😂

Kentishgal · 07/02/2019 10:44

I'm so sorry I just posted on the wrong thread - meant to post in July - God knows how I did that!

bubblybrit · 07/02/2019 11:30

@Camsie30. I didn’t realise how stressful choosing a name would be! I had a feeling early on that I was expecting a boy. We had no issues with names and agreed straightaway. When we found out it was a girl it was back to square one and we haven’t really progressed any further!! Good luck with choosing your name. I’m sure we will both get it right in the end 😀 xx

bubblybrit · 07/02/2019 11:34

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking. I just don’t want any arguments once she arrives so was hoping to have a name chosen. Although agree that she might not suit the name so could try out both for a day or two to see what feels right. Think I’m just feeling stressed as everyone is asking what the name is already (we aren’t sharing names at this stage) so can see that getting a lot worse when she arrives x

HugoBearsMummy · 07/02/2019 11:41

Sorry to interrupt ongoing conversations but can I please trouble the ladies who are pregnant with their second (or third forth etc !) and had a normal labour last time, what does it feel like to be in early labour please? I was induced using a pessary with my first, and I literally went from being completely normal one minute, to extremely painful & regular contractions half an hour later (my husband described the way I looked was as if my head was going to roll off my shoulders lol !) so I don't know what a normal labour feels like.
I've had an upset stomach for a couple of days, dull period type pains. But this morning at 4:30am I was woken by a very tight uncomfortable pain like a band tightening round my stomach and back pain. I've been pottering round doing stuff at home all morning but the period type pains have been there on and off the whole time, I've also just had an upset tummy again... just wondered could this be my body preparing itself? Sorry for the long post...

lanalawr · 07/02/2019 11:45

@HugoBearsMummy this is my second but I've got no idea what to expect either. Although I went into labour naturally last time it started with my waters breaking. I'd have easily missed contractions based on how they started - for me they felt like painless braxton hicks. My labour was basically me feeling constipated the whole time (she was back to back).

We had a boys name and a girls name picked out for dd but didn't tell anyone other than close family until she was a few days old because I wanted to try them out first. This time we've got a girls name but I'm unconvinced by the middle name. We can't agree on a boys first name though and have very different tastes in boys names (middle name is sorted because it's a family member's name).

HugoBearsMummy · 07/02/2019 11:47

@lanalawr I'm just so confused. I don't want her to come yet lol I'm only 37 + 1 . This is my first week off work and I'm still busy getting prepared !

lanalawr · 07/02/2019 13:12

@HugoBearsMummy could it be your cervix starting to thin and change? It might not mean labour is about to start. I've got no idea though. I had period like cramps yesterday evening and stabby pains in my cervix. They stopped before I went to bed and nothing has happened since. I hate the waiting though. Due date is tomorrow and this was my first week off work. Dh is already talking about how miserable I look. Oops.

HugoBearsMummy · 07/02/2019 13:21

My word the stabbing pains or fanny daggers as I call them lol are the pits I get them every evening when sat down, the pain is so bad I literally hold my breath. Awful. Yes I think perhaps my body is just getting itself ready and prepared. I think I may be panicking because I'm not ready for her to be here yet I've got stuff to sort out first and that's in the forefront of my mind. Good luck with your labour I hope you are not kept waiting too long!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 07/02/2019 13:24

@bubblybrit you’re more likely to get your own way after the baby is here, as your partner will more than likely be in complete awe of you 😂

@HugoBearsMummy my previous labours started with mild period cramps (like when you have to go for a period poo, even though you don’t really need one!), which gradually got stronger. I never did lose my plug (that I was aware of anyway) and my waters didn’t break till the late stages each time when I was 10cm and about ready to start pushing. Mine were both normally presented babies, and I did have a stretch and sweep, but no other interventions.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 07/02/2019 13:27

I think the stabby pains are just pressure on your cervix, all helps to get it all prepared but it’s not a sign of labour in itself I don’t think. I’ve had these pains for weeks now... but have really increased over the last week or so.. they suck ☹️

I’d be taking more notice of the period pains personally, but then every labour is different 😬

HugoBearsMummy · 07/02/2019 14:00

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking thank you for your response! They're definitely not frequent but have been on/off all day since that terrible pain at 4:30am that woke me up. I think perhaps everything is just moving about and getting ready for her arrival- just not too soon I hope!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 07/02/2019 14:30

Maybe have a contraction timer app ready... just in case 🤞🏼🤞🏼

AngelaB06 · 07/02/2019 15:24

Hi ladies, 37+2 today and wishing DC number two would hurry up! Was 10 days late with my first so fingers crossed I can avoid that this time. Does anyone else have an endless ‘restless’ feeling?

HugoBearsMummy · 07/02/2019 15:53

@AngelaB06 yes! I think it has something to do with needing to "nest" which is what I've been doing this week. Then I'm bloody shattered at bedtime but lay awake thinking of what needs doing next haha. You're 1 day ahead of me Smile have you had any signs?

AngelaB06 · 07/02/2019 16:51

@HugoBearsMummy - haha, I think you’re right! I’m limited with what I can do physically because of PGP (always a joy with a 3 year old) but my mind is certainly working overtime! Oh lovely, nothing really as yet other than an increase in BH and lots of ‘daggers’. How about you?

fullofquestion · 07/02/2019 17:17

@HugoBearsMummy with mine my waters always went, then period pains that gradually built up! I am 37 weeks today and have on and off period type pains but I think it's just pressure!!

I must admit I was super worried last night I am thinking baby must have been laying on a nerve - before bed I had a really sharp period type pain on my right hand side and a pain down my leg to my knee on the inside of my leg! It was quite intense, however I somehow managed to fall asleep - I have been up in the night with my sons anyway the last few weeks and a hospital admission with eldest on Sunday night so think I could
Probably sleep through anything atm!!

bubblybrit · 07/02/2019 17:19

I do like the idea of trying out names for a few days before we definitely decide @lanalawr

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking.

Yes that might very well be true! Or at least wishful thinking 😂 xx

HugoBearsMummy · 07/02/2019 17:34

@AngelaB06 only the period pains today, after the huge tight pain in my stomach that woke me at 4:30am, Also an upset stomach for days now Altho I feel well in myself and haven't eaten anything dodgy so not sure what that's about!! I have been suffering SPD from 34 weeks but for some reason it's eased off a bit the past few days, rather than having severe pain on one side only I have mild to moderate pain on both sides now which still isn't great but least I'm not hobbling on one leg now... so bloody glamorous this pregnancy lark lol Grin
