Sorry powkin, no experience with induction but I hope things improve for you soon.

AutumnLee12 yes I had a sweep at 38+4 with DS. They say that if a sweep is going to be effective, it will work within 24 hours, and my contractions (mood, early labour) started less than 24 hours after. It was uncomfortable/a bit painful but it's over so quickly. I think it depends how things are looking though - the midwife who did mine said it was successful so assuming my cervix was open/soft or whatever it needs to be! She could feel DS' head which is bizarre.

I'm having one this time on my due date if I haven't had the baby before then, as my midwife offered.

babyp160 · 06/02/2019 08:36

Brutal midwife on the ward today.

She said if their plans don't work by 72 hours they send you home and start the process again in a few days 😫
Not what you want to hear when you've just woken up from a few hours sleep!!!

Since2016 · 06/02/2019 08:49

Sorry to hear inductions aren’t moving this along v quickly. Alas if your body isn’t ready / it’s still early I think this is sometimes how it can go. For what it’s worth I was in active labour and the drip still didn’t work for me in terms of progressing things.

@yakadee all quietened down now thankfully! Although I am exhausted and not v mobile! A v quiet day today... poor DD!!

@Since2016 - you just have to do what you have to do! My DS has been in way more than I'd like but needs must. He's going to a playgym with Daddy today so he'll have a great time. Also means me and baby Emma can chill at home!

I was induced too with my first so really do sympathise with you guys going through it. I hope it's all over soon and your lovely babies will be here soon x

Celebelly · 06/02/2019 09:05

Sorry to hear inductions aren't going smoothly at the moment. Hope things pick up for you both!

I have midwife appointment in an hour and still haven't decided whether to have a sweep or not! Confused

lanalawr · 06/02/2019 10:13

Congratulations @Eyedontknow and @mummakat84 !

Hope things get moving properly soon for those of you with inductions going on. Sounds like some of you are having a rubbish time with it at the moment but fingers crossed for babies soon.

Lookingforadvice123 · 06/02/2019 10:17

Oh my goodness mummakat84 he is scrummy! Congratulations xx

Notquiteagandt · 06/02/2019 10:18

maxiflump1 · 06/02/2019 10:21

Congrats @mummakat84 and @Eyedontknow on your beautiful babies.

@powkin and @babyp160 hope you are both doing ok and things are progressing with your inductions.

@Since2016 enjoy your last day before your new arrival tomorrow. Hopefully your c section will be a positive experience (mine last week certainly was!)

bubblybrit · 06/02/2019 11:22

@mummakat84 & @Eyedontknow - congratulations!! Lovely to hear that more babies have been born 😀 Enjoy your little ones! Xx

Hope all those being induced have seen some progression....it will all be worth it once baby is here xx

@celebelly. Did you get the sweep? My MW appointment isn’t until Sunday where I’ll be 39+1. She says that she can do one then but I’m unsure 😬 xx

bubblybrit · 06/02/2019 11:23

@Since2016. Good luck for tomorrow. Can’t wait to see your update xx

Celebelly · 06/02/2019 11:45

I got my sweep! It was fine - a little bit uncomfy but not bad. She said she felt baby's head moving during it!

Back home now and waiting for something to happen! She said they wouldn't push to induce me till 40+12 as I'm low risk and everything is fine with baby so I feel better about that. Was worried about induction, but if she's not here by next Fri (40+4) then I'll have a scan just to check all is well and then they'll happily leave me. Hopefully baby arrives before then though!

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 06/02/2019 11:52

Congrats on the babies arrived, and good luck to those still waiting!

babyp160 · 06/02/2019 12:25

@mummakat84 wow how gorgeous!!!

No induction progress here and onto the gel

Since2016 · 06/02/2019 12:58

Oooh gorgeous new arrivals! Congratulations!

Thanks for the well wishes. Hoping it all goes smoothly - I would love to be home on Friday!

Got a few hours decent sleep and had a shower and I’m feeling a little more human. Hoping things are progressing.

AliceRR · 06/02/2019 13:28

Congrats @mummakat84

Hope everyone is doing ok

I felt again this morning something might be happening - a few sharp pains, hard uterus (but not painful contractions as such just jabbing pains low down and at one point a sharp pain across the top of my uterus) and a bit of a stomach ache but I went back to sleep for a couple of hours and feel fine again now 🙄

I really struggled to sleep last night, everything aches most when I lie down - so hoping baby comes soon

Yakadee · 06/02/2019 13:35

@Since2016 - I was home the following day (and I lost a lot of blood, so it's possible even with a complication) so fingers crossed for you! Do you know what position you are that day? X

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 06/02/2019 13:44

I was saying to my other half last night... it’s like I have never been comfortable. It’s been so long since I was just relaxed that I’ve forgotten what it feels like 😩

Managed to suppress the heartburn long enough last night to eat some fairly bland pasta. Which I then threw up about an hour later 🙄
I’m now desperately trying not to wee myself as he punches me in my bladder whilst simultaneously kicking my ribs, and trying to break my pelvis with his head.

I really need to get dressed and go pick up a prescription from the dentist, but I’m struggling to move 🙄

Susannach · 06/02/2019 14:08

Congratulations @mummakat84 and @eyedontknow! Lovely pic Smile

Yakadee · 06/02/2019 14:21

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking - that sounds grim! At least the end is in sight xx

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 06/02/2019 14:48

@Yakadee it could always be worse though! At least while he’s causing me so much discomfort I know he’s well!

Due a week tomorrow, so three weeks tops 🤞🏼🤞🏼
