@Notquiteagandt - congratulations! How scary but so glad you're all ok.

I had my section on Tues. I've found that painkillers are the way forward. I was active as soon as I could be and found that once I was up and about it gets easier. Don't over do it though.

Just take it steady and keep up to date with medicine. Xx

Notquiteagandt · 01/02/2019 19:29

@Yakadee yeah I am on oramorph atm but not sure I like how it makes me feel. Think going to be a play around with painkillers that are bf safe. What have you been taking? Just curious. As hospital are pretty much giving me a free run to try things. But unsure whats out there tbh.

AutumnLee12 · 01/02/2019 19:31

@bubblybrit ah okay thanks, I'm defo going to look into it!

Congrats on the new arrivals ladies, still doesn't feel real that I'll be a mum in less than 2 weeks!

bubblybrit · 01/02/2019 19:39

@AutumnLee12. My last pregnancy massage was around 20 weeks and it was amazing! So if you can find somewhere that will do it near you then I’m very jealous 😀 x

Yakadee · 01/02/2019 19:46

I've been on (all at the same time) ; paracetamol, ibroprofen and dihdrocodeine. I'm still sore but it's defo manageable. I found yesterday morning to be the worst as I'd had all my painkillers for that period and couldn't take anything else. I was warned about day 2 being the worst anyway and that it would improve form there.

Also, when you take your plssyer off, makings sure you take off the excess stickyness as I didn't realise and my stomach got stuck to my knickers!! X

Surprisedmom · 01/02/2019 20:07

Congratulations @maxiflump1 and @notquiteag&t

Susannach · 01/02/2019 20:35

Congratulations maxiflump and Notquiteagandt!

mummymummymummummum · 01/02/2019 20:37

Congratulations both @maxiflump1 and @Notquiteagandt

I had a caesarean last time, at about 9pm. I didn't try to move until morning, so stayed flat out for 12 hours. I got a Midwife assistant to coach me out of bed the next morning! Even then I was wheeled to SCBU in a wheelchair. I was up and about after another couple of hours. First wee was HUGE so no worries there! Getting up uses a surprising amount of stomach muscles so it did take a while to develop a less painful technique for standing up, and getting from lying down to sitting.

I'd advise taking as easy as you can. Take advantage of all the help you can get, especially in the early days 😊

powkin · 01/02/2019 20:44

@Notquiteagandt congratulations! I’m sorry it wasn’t the experience any of us would hope for but glad that you are both safe and well now x

powkin · 01/02/2019 23:52

I’ve taken to sleeping in knee high compression socks. DH can hardly contain his desire 😂😂😂

babyp160 · 02/02/2019 00:01

Congrats everyone.

Massive water retention at the moment with face, hands and feet which puts the fear in me of pre eclampsia. I did have slight protein in my urine a few weeks back but other than that it could just be the end of pregnancy?!?

Might call my midwife tomorrow 🤔

AliceRR · 02/02/2019 00:06

@babyp160 I had a bit of protein in my urine when I saw midwife yesterday too and she didn’t seem worried about it and swelling is not uncommon at this stage I believe but call if you’re worried if only to set your mind at rest

babyp160 · 02/02/2019 00:45

@AliceRR that's what I thought. I saw a family friend tonight who has put the fear in me, I'm sure all is fine 😌

mummymummymummummum · 02/02/2019 10:50

@babyp160 nobody was concerned about my water retention last time. I struggled to walk and certainly couldn't get any sort of footwear on! If it's mostly in your legs try to get them elevated (not easy!). And keep doing gentle ankle exercises (rotate in both directions and point and flex).

Definitely worth mentioning to your midwife, but don't stress about it!

powkin · 02/02/2019 11:02

Not feeling great today, quite sick and dizzy in the shower. I’m meant to be having a meet up with loads 9 friends in town at a nice restaurant. I know I could cancel and they’d all happily meet without me but as I planned it all and people are making an effort I feel a bit shit! Praying lots of water and a restful morning help.

Alicejj8x · 02/02/2019 11:15

@powkin
I'm
With you on the whole feeling sick front :(

powkin · 02/02/2019 11:24

@Alicejj8x it’s the same as morning sickness nausea in that I feel like if was actually sick I’d feel a lot better!

Really grouchy and tired today, I slept terribly and felt like I couldn’t breathe due to my stupid nose. I get really hot too. Moan moan moan!

Alicejj8x · 02/02/2019 11:27

@powkin I feel the exact same. If I could bring it up I would feel better. I had a McDonald's Breakfast for the first time in months so I'm guessing baby just didn't like it?..
I'm 37+2 so I guess it's normal at this stage too?
Also like you didn't sleep well at all

I hope your ok and can get some rest today and feel better soon! How many weeks are you? X

powkin · 02/02/2019 11:39

@Alicejj8x 37+1! We can race to the finish line!

DH might have given me his cold, but I’ve had gross sinuses for weeks and weeks now, no pain or feeling like I have a cold up to this point but perhaps a infection that probably isn’t helping.

I’m also struggling with finding patterns in movements, for a while Pip had a pattern but maybe with maternity leave now I’m struggling to notice it. She does move about plenty but I panic when she goes too quiet for too long, but she must do a fair amount of sleeping! She hates me sleeping on my side so that’s useful 🙄

Alicejj8x · 02/02/2019 11:53

@powkin
Oh yes we can ahaha!!

Oh bless you I hope your feel better so rubbish there's hardly anything we can take

I'm suffering at night with a blocked nose which then makes me snore and then when I wake up my throat is so bloody sore & dry! lol can't win!

Ohh bless you! Also maybe where your now on maternity your thinking about her movement constantly where as before when you was at work you want so conscious of it?.. I've just started Maternity and I'm a nanny so I'm always on the go at I would feel her her and there in the day but it would be when I get home she would be going mental. So I bet I'll be the same now and be focusing more on movement. But I am sure your little PIP is just fine in there :) waiting to meet you for cuddles!! Xxx

sickmumma · 02/02/2019 12:42

@powkin I felt the exact same yesterday and actually bailed out on my own work leaving do!! They were fine about it and all still went. I was Really sicky and lethargic, spent most of the day on the sofa and everytime I stood up it felt like baby would fall out the pain was quite intense where as before it's been the odd sharp breath holding twinge for a few
Moments but this was constant! I woke up this morning feeling fine again however have lost some of my Mucus plug this morning so it must have been something!!

Notquiteagandt · 02/02/2019 12:46

All you ftm who havent had your babies yet are in for a treat. Honnestly never felt emotion like it. Cant stop staring at baby M. I have never been so in love. Really didnt exspect such strong feelings.

You have this all to come. Flowers

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. Keen to get home but hospital until next week for us. But so excited for our future together.

babyp160 · 02/02/2019 13:02

@Notquiteagandt you just made me well up! So happy for you xx

Jenn12 · 02/02/2019 13:03

I can't find any answers online but we have been given a Tommee tippee nappy bin and also been given angel care refills by someone else. Would angel care fit in the tommee tippee bin? Don't want to try incase it gets stuck or I break it 🙈

babyp160 · 02/02/2019 13:04

Look like the elephant man today so been in hospital all morning and have protein in urine now when I didn't last Wednesday.

Just sent bloods off and they're considering inducing me this afternoon.
