I've been having mild cramps since last night but not very often, bh didn't feel like this before but that's all I can assume they are? No show or anything else just lots of cramps.

I'm 39 weeks tomorrow, has anyone had this and found it wasn't long before contractions began?

Surprisedmom · 30/01/2019 18:48

@bubblybrit I had blocked ears a lot when I was also getting rhinitis. I just used ear drops to clear them.

@Fiona0x In the last 24 hours I have had lots of twinges and just generally feel like my whole bump is achey/I have an upset stomach (though I don’t have one it just feels that way). I don’t know if it’s a sign Labour is on the way or just that this is going to be my new normal now as i’m only 38 weeks tomorrow.

bubblybrit · 30/01/2019 19:05

Thank you @Surprisedmom. I just found it unusual that they appeared blocked overnight! Will get to the pharmacist and pick up some drops tomorrow x

Fiona0x · 30/01/2019 19:08

@surprisedmom I have felt the same. I almost feel like I need to empty my bowels too, except I don't (sorry, tmi)

Fiona0x · 30/01/2019 19:15

Also I can't sleep Sad
I have a 2yo too so can't nap during the day. I'm exhausted and worrying I'm going to be too tired for labour

Surprisedmom · 30/01/2019 19:48

@Fiona0x that’s exactly how I feel, keep going to the bathroom thinking I must need it but I don’t.

detachablehoof · 30/01/2019 19:55

@surprisedmom @fiona0x I've had the same feeling on and off. Also been wondering if it's a sign of labour coming on or not! I hate not knowing what's going to happen and find myself obsessing over every little twinge - probably most of them I wouldn't even normally notice! I'm 39+3

Leonora94 · 30/01/2019 20:06

I’m the same so annoying I’m like...is it labour or is it just 3rd trimester?!

emalady · 30/01/2019 20:23

My very early contractions came alongside an ibs/ diarrhoea type pain like my guts were all inflamed and irritated so it may well mean something is happening. That said I wasn't sure my waters had broken and so delayed being seen so may not want to trust me!

Surprisedmom · 30/01/2019 20:35

@emalady thanks. I have figured if it is early labour pains it’s mild enough that I may as well just keep going until I get proper contractions. I don’t want to get my hopes up and suspect it’s more likely i’ll be like this on and off for the next couple of weeks, so trying to just distract myself.

twiglet · 30/01/2019 20:49

Arghhhh I have no idea what is going on. Cramps are back, waves of neasea and dodgy stomach. Definitely the need to go to the loo but no definite contractions a few more intense cramps/twinges but nothing regular.

Back in the bath trying to relax I have a feeling this weird limbo phase is going to last for days HmmSad

Surprisedmom · 30/01/2019 21:13

@twiglet sorry to hear that, I hope things ramp up a gear and get going for you soon!

AvoidingMarking · 30/01/2019 23:35

3 year old in bed with me after being sick 3 times. OH in spare room.

Praying it's not a bug I will catch!

powkin · 31/01/2019 00:20

Pip has hiccups - first time I’ve ever felt them I think! I wondered what on earth she was doing and then remembered they can hiccup! They seem pretty violent!

Eyedontknow · 31/01/2019 02:20

Congrats to those who have had your babies! So exciting!

I'm officially overdue. Over the weekend I was getting regular contractions/Braxton Hicks? for over 2 hours that started getting closer together and stronger, and then they suddenly stopped and have had very few since! So frustrating. Sounds like it's similar to you @twiglet re nausea and dodgy stomach. I feel like I spend all my time in the toilet these days.

2019Mama · 31/01/2019 02:57

Can’t sleep 😩😬 been having some pains all night on and off.
TMI but just felt like I weed a little, I think it may be my waters but I’m not sure so I’ve put on a new pad and just lying here to see if it actually is.

powkin · 31/01/2019 07:12

Really ready for this to be over. Still have 3 weeks until due date :( think I’ll talk to mw about swelling next week and see if they can do anything to move things forward.

Notquiteagandt · 31/01/2019 07:55

So after weeks of contractions and bh and pains.

Get the propass in and they all stop. Angry

Think im going to be here for the long haul.

Since2016 · 31/01/2019 08:36

Congratulations to those who’ve had babies this week How exciting!

Bump still v high and no other signs at all other than the usual on and off cramps and toilet issues which ime is just third trimester joy. A week to go until D day and DD is 3 today!

@powkin sorry you are suffering - I had the most awful swelling with DD and it was hideous. I had a sweep at 39 weeks because I was desperate and then another at 40 which helped start things off but they may well be reluctant to induce etc... owing to risk re baby’s lungs if there are no other issues. Try as far as poss to elevate your legs and know that it does go quite quickly afterwards!

Fiona0x · 31/01/2019 09:58

My midwife has offered to give me a sweep next week when I will be 40w.

Is it weird that the thought makes me uncomfortable. I think it's because of her, I've had 3 sweeps in previous pregnancies and felt fine with thar midwife but I don't feel as though I'm comfortable with this one doing it. I need to grow up 😂

powkin · 31/01/2019 12:23

@Since2016 Legs elevated = heartburn/lying on back which is evil foetus murdering apparently so feel damned if I do and damned if I don’t!

Next midwife appointment isn’t until next Thursday, I think I’m going to make more of a fuss about being uncomfortable and unhappy then.

AliceRR · 31/01/2019 12:24

I had midwife appointment today. She said baby is not quite engaged but not far off however a bit back to back so to sit upright / forwards and use the ball to see if she will move into a better position. I’m 38+4. Anyone had this at this rather late stage?

hayley013 · 31/01/2019 13:40

I went into labour with a back to back baby @AliceRR contractions were intense and pushing stage was long but she moved in time to be born luckily x

mummymummymummummum · 31/01/2019 13:46

@AliceRR My first was back to back. Try to get yourself in a UFO position as much as possible (upright, forward and open). Slouching on the sofa isn't great sadly!

Baby might turn before labour, maybe during labour, maybe not at all. Don't worry! It's not the ideal position for birth, so labour could end up being a bit longer. But it's not something that will cause you to automatically need additional interventions.

AliceRR · 31/01/2019 14:17

Thanks both. I already don’t know how I will handle labour (first time) so this isn’t ideal but sounds like it’s something we should be able to deal with. Will see if sitting on my ball helps!
