@Notquiteagandt fingers crossed 🤞 that you get in soon and all the best for the birth!

maxiflump1 · 30/01/2019 10:20

Good luck @Notquiteagandt. Hope the snow doesn't cause you too much drama.

@twiglet sounds promising for you. Fingers crossed!

38+3 weeks today. I spent 2 hours hooked up to a monitor on labour ward yesterday evening. Baby hadn't been moving much all day. Her heart rate was too high so I had to have lots of drinks and toast to try and get it to go down, which it did - phew! I didn't sleep well last night, and this morning wished I was on maternity leave for the first time. 3 days left at work..

Having a meeting with HR about a different job later. It was a 12 month secondment so there was no point in me applying. But I did say I would have been interested if I wasn't going off on maternity leave. Closing date was yesterday and I don't think anyone applied. Apparently they've since discussed it being a permanent post instead. So no idea what to expect, but my head really isn't in the right place for an interview! Eek!

detachablehoof · 30/01/2019 11:30

@mummymummymummummum hadn't heard of those microwave bags, thanks!

lanalawr · 30/01/2019 12:01

@detachablehoof the microwave bags are great. The medela ones you can use up to 20 times before yo need to replace them. When you said no sterilising facilities I'd assumed no microwave. The bags would be miles easier than my box and sterilising liquid/tablet suggestion if you've got access to a microwave though.

lanalawr · 30/01/2019 12:06

Good luck @Notquiteagandt ! I hope you don't have to wait too long for a bed.

hayley013 · 30/01/2019 12:08

@NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking I haven't had any signs other than her dropping low and some on off cramps intermittently, with also 2 weeks to go. But I didn't have any signs at all with dd until my due date when contractions started, no loss of plug or waters.

Hope everything goes well @Notquiteagandt will look forward to hearing your news.

Yakadee · 30/01/2019 12:10

@Notquiteagandt - good luck, hope all goes well xx

We are coming home this afternoon! 🎉

I can't wait to get back to my own house and bed! For this of you having sections, it really was a good experience. I felt really looked after and totally filled in. Even though there was a bit of an issue with my blood loss I felt totally in the loop and informed. X

AliceRR · 30/01/2019 13:38

Good luck @twiglet and @Notquiteagandt

powkin · 30/01/2019 13:43

Hope it all goes smoothly @Notquiteagandt - I feel like we need a definitive roll call of all the babies already hear and yet to come! We haven't had one since one of the first few threads!

Celebelly · 30/01/2019 13:50

Another group I'm on has a Google spreadsheet with usernames/due dates/when baby arrived, etc. and everyone can just add their info to it. I'm crap at spreadsheets though so don't know where to start!

twiglet · 30/01/2019 14:17

Everything has stopped! Spoke to the unit they said it happens just keep an eye on it.

Feel exhausted god knows how I will get through proper labour the last 14 hrs has knackered me out!

Alicejj8x · 30/01/2019 14:26

Anyone been having lots of pressure low down? I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow.
Maternity leave on Friday cannot come fast enough

AliceRR · 30/01/2019 14:42

@Alicejj8x Yes I sometimes feel pressure right down in my pubic bone but not all the time. Sometimes it feels like I can feel the head there so maybe she is moving in and out of position 🤔 I’m 38 + 3

Alicejj8x · 30/01/2019 14:49

@AliceRR it's a weird feeling isn't it
I was walking around Asda and felt like I was walking with a bowling ball in between my legs lol it was so much pressure . It's eased off abit now but my last midwife appointment she did say her head was literally right there and would engage any week so I'm sure that's all it is xxx

babyp160 · 30/01/2019 15:44

I'm in such a muddle- you don't need to contact anyone if you lose your plug do you?

I'm fine otherwise. Scrubbing the oven obviously works 😂

Celebelly · 30/01/2019 15:48

No need to contact anyone AFAIK, but it's a good sign labour is on the way!

Still not sure I can be bothered to scrub my oven though Grin

babyp160 · 30/01/2019 15:50

@Celebelly I have had a few symptoms and a terrible upset tummy when I usually have the opposite! Fingers crossed lol.

Thanks for the reply. So much info and I didn't want to not call and then tell me off!

twiglet · 30/01/2019 15:50

@babyp160 no you don't have to contact the midwife/unit it's just that I had a lot which was pretty bloody followed by black (turned out to be part of process sorry TMIBlush) so called just to check. My midwife always says it's best to phone if you're not sure!

AliceRR · 30/01/2019 15:51

I can’t be bothered to scrub the oven either but I have been cleaning the kitchen and steam cleaning the floors! 😃 Want to go shopping too before it gets too late but feel like I need a rest although I only got out of bed at 12:30 😬

babyp160 · 30/01/2019 16:18

@twiglet never tmi when you're about to have a baby 😂

I remember in antenatal them saying put a pad on and bring it in but I've just looked and that's when your waters go Incase of meconium.

@AliceRR I got out of bed then too. Netflix is my new best friend. I then thought I'd do the washing up which has turnt into cleaning out and cleaning all cupboards and fronts, the oven and just mopped the floor. People should start a business for nesting mummy's to clean their houses 🤔

Celebelly · 30/01/2019 16:23

@babyp160 You're welcome to come round and do mine! My nesting phase was very brief. Now I'm back in the stranded whale on sofa with snacks phase.

bubblybrit · 30/01/2019 16:31

Hopefully things get moving for you again soon @twiglet x

Good luck @Notquiteagandt. Hope you are ok! X

bubblybrit · 30/01/2019 16:47

Has anyone suffered from blocked ears? I don’t have the cold and don’t feel poorly but work up this morning and definitely have blocked ears which I can’t seem to unclog! Is this a pregnancy symptom or should I prepare myself for getting ill 😬 xx

Lookingforadvice123 · 30/01/2019 18:27

37 weeks today and finished work until this time next year! Weird feeling, weirder than with DS...weirdly!
