Hi all

Welcome to the new thread. The list of names is HUGE! It might be a better idea to start a new list after 12 week scans so we have up to date due dates. It also allows those who have bad news but don't want to share it to leave quietly if they so wish.

I don't even have a scan date! Hurry up and end first trimester.

Good luck for Monday Kcjoe. We will be thinking of you!

PinkLady89x · 14/02/2019 19:45

Wow @Runningbutnotscared that's amazing news x lovely photos too!

@Kcjoe good luck for Monday x

I just went out for a lovely valentines meal only to walk through the front door and throw the whole lot up. It's the most sick I've been all pregnancy! Typical...

Got my 12 week scan on Wednesday (I'll be 13+1) and it's been 2 weeks since my last scan today so I'm starting to worry again. I wonder if I'll ever settle and enjoy this pregnancy 🤞🏻🤔.

sacrecoeur0712 · 14/02/2019 19:50

@ScotsBaby2 please add me to the list:

Sacrecoeur0712 23.08.19 DC3 💖

All ok at my 12 week scan today apart from an awkward baby who was lying the wrong way for the measurements.

@Kcjoe sorry to hear your news, will be thinking of you and hoping for a positive outcome. 🤞🏻

Moncwf · 14/02/2019 19:51

I'll be keeping fingers crossed for you Monday @Kcjoe

Scan today, all looked well. New due date 26th August for the list.

QueenofFox · 14/02/2019 20:16

@Kcjoe that's tough. We're 1 in 4 for the condition we're having cvs/amnio for. I'm choosing to look at it as 75% chance of not. Even less for you. Everything crossed for Monday.

Hurrah for lovely scan news! Exciting!

I have been so sick today. I threw up in the shower and when I arrived at work (had to run to an alleyway next to the main entrance). Have had a headache all day too. Feels like a terrible hangover. I'm 14 weeks. I thought I'd be over this by now!

Runningbutnotscared · 14/02/2019 21:40

@Curlywurlywooo these are the first set of twins in either family - it’s happened because I am old and (I didn’t know this) your body throws out eggs as you get older.

Sadly they couldn’t do the downs test as it’s twins so I have to go back. 5 hours at the hospital today. Central Birmingham is a very different experience from rural Scotland!

@kcjoe good luck for Monday

@queenoffox when are you having your amnio?
I’m struggling to understand the numbers, I guess the midwife will know? At what point, should you want to, do you take it further? 1:8? 1:5?
Maths was never my strong point

2dreamadream · 14/02/2019 21:50

Any suggestions on gender? Due Aug 2019 16th Smile gender to be confirmed next Friday ... a little guessing please x

curlywurlywooo · 14/02/2019 21:51

@Kcjoe good luck for Monday and lovely that they’d sent you pix in the post!
@Runningbutnotscared wow! I never knew that, I’ve always liked the idea of twins!
@Moncwf congrats on the scan 😊

Is anyone struggling with fatigue? I’m 16 weeks and thought it might go in the second trimester but I fell asleep in work the other day (luckily woke up minutes before someone walked into my office, with dribble all down the side of my face Blush) and today I had a day off and I had to have an afternoon nap! I find I wake stupidly early too and find it hard to go back to sleep.

curlywurlywooo · 14/02/2019 21:55

@2dreamadream I’m not too good at the nub theory stuff but that is a lovely scan pic! Smile congrats! 💖

2dreamadream · 14/02/2019 22:07

@curlywurlywooo aww Thankyou, congrats to you too. The baby was facing not the right way, we tried everything in the scan room but wasn't having any of it. So best pic could get but not got a clue on the theory myself so thought I'd see what people was suggesting x

2dreamadream · 14/02/2019 22:09

@curlywurlywooo this is my 2nd pregnancy my daughter will be 3 I. July her scan pictures where so different x it's amazing isn't it x

curlywurlywooo · 14/02/2019 22:43

@2dreamadream my baba was upside down like that too, after being the right way with bum in the air and then flipping over 😂 Luckily he or she turned the right way after I’d been to the loo and done rolls left and right on the scan table/couch thing 😂 fantastic detail on your scan though, really cute! Smile

Bakingabean · 15/02/2019 07:57

I'm 16+2 today and I swear I can feel movement. This is my first so I don't know if it's too early and I'm imagining it!

Feels like a very gentle tiny poke or twitch from the inside, around 2-3 inches below my belly button... I've felt it about 3 times in a row while I'm half sitting/reclining in bed. I've thought I felt it a couple of days ago too but wasn't sure.

Ladies who've had babies already - is this what it feels like?! Or am I just imagining it?!

Kcjoe · 15/02/2019 09:08

Thank you everyone. @QueenofFox good luck with your test. When are you having yours? Yes, I'd never considered the percentages, so that does make me feel a bit better.

@curlywurlywooo I'm 12 weeks and I fell asleep at my desk yesterday afternoon! Went to the loo and sat with my head on my knees for a rest 😂 nodded off for a few seconds. Luckily I'm off now until 26th. I have some leave and of next week for half term and work are allowing me Monday off for the test and then they've given me some paperwork to read through at home on Mon and Tues.

sacrecoeur0712 · 15/02/2019 09:41

@Bakingabean I think previous posters' descriptions of a feeling like popping corn is pretty accurate, or like being flicked gently from the inside. Can't wait to get those sensations again!

Bakingabean · 15/02/2019 09:59

@sacrecoeur0712 Being flicked gently from the inside- that’s exactly it! Ooh how exciting! I keep jiggling my belly to see if I can wake baby up/ or make it move again! Move you lazy bugger!

emma1224 · 15/02/2019 10:17

I got my blood tests results in following my Down syndrome test and it's 1:4500

It puts me in low risk but I don't feel like it is
I think I'm just stressing for no reason

What was others? X

Whoopsies · 15/02/2019 10:34

@emma1224 do you mean 1:4500 because that's very low risk?

explodingkitten · 15/02/2019 11:51

So nice to see good news and growing bumps. I love the bump picture.

@Kcjoe that's tough, good luck on monday. I had a vaginal cvs today and it went well so far, was done quite quickly and wasn't painful at all. It's the emotional side of it, that there might be something wrong, which makes it difficult.

I commented upthread that there was a brain abnormality which could be linked to Spina Bifida. At a check for something else they decided to take an extra look and they found the Spina Bifida Aperta and Chiari II brain malformation. We are having extra checks and appointments but it looks like this is quite a severe case. We are taking time to get informed and thinking about it but we are leaning towards a termination. We feel that the long term prognosis is horrible and we don't think that we would wish it on anyone, least of all our daughter. It took us five years to get pregnant and it all feels so sad. For some reason having miscarriages was emotionally easier for me than this, while the end result is still the same. The depth of my dark feelings about this takes me by surprise tbh. I also find it extremely hard to see my DH cry so much. He deserves better than this. We will continu with ivf in the future and I still hope that we will experience good news one day.

OctoberGirl91 · 15/02/2019 11:52

@sacrecoeur0712 awww we are due date twins! I am also expecting DC3😁

Sickness is still draining me, I am keeping small amounts today but got a banging headache new medication doctors gave me seems to be working xx

OctoberGirl91 · 15/02/2019 11:56

Awww I am so sorry @explodingkitten I can't even imagine how you feel. Sending you lots of love xx

Kcjoe · 15/02/2019 12:17

@emma1224 mine is 1:5... you are definitely low risk.

@explodingkitten sorry to hear that news 💐 tough choices but as you say, you wouldn't wish it on your daughter.

We are taking each day as it comes. If the results aren't good from the cvs, then that's when we will discuss our choices.

My friend who was due the same time as me had her 12 week scan yesterday and there was no heartbeat 😢 so sad

Bakingabean · 15/02/2019 12:49

@explodingkitten I’m so sorry to hear that. It must be so so hard. I hope you and DH are ok.

@kcjoe you too- I really hope that you’re one of the 4/5 rather than the 1/5. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

explodingkitten · 15/02/2019 14:29

@kcjoe
I don't know if it's the same in the UK but in my country we twiddle thumbs for good luck. I did a few twiddles for you. I really hope that you're one of the 4/5's.
