August 2019 4: All the scans and hopefully the end of nausea

Hi all

Welcome to the new thread. The list of names is HUGE! It might be a better idea to start a new list after 12 week scans so we have up to date due dates. It also allows those who have bad news but don't want to share it to leave quietly if they so wish.

I don't even have a scan date! Hurry up and end first trimester.

@Jokie I'm at the point now where I feel like I'm just the baby carrier and not a person! I'm sorry you mil was the same.
She's just so disrespectful, telling people before I even had my scan!
She's still in a huff and I'm going full petty mode since she's ruined my experience and upset me so much the past few weeks.
She's very old fashioned and thinks babies should only be in white so I've found black babygros.😂
Told dh she's not getting to find out the gender and I'm not sharing anything else with her about my pregnancy.
I'm still raging.

I got a call from triage today. They told me my bloods came in showing baby has 1 in 78 chance of Downs.

Been asked to attend a CVS on Tuesday. I'm a complete wreck,i know the odds aren't terrible but it's really knocked me off my feet.

Husband and I have had a long talk about what we plan to do, researched the CVS tests and put options, I just need to stop crying now!

@elmamadegatita, oh how worrying for you! Fingers tightly crossed for Tuesday. How long do you have to wait for results of CVS?

@emma1224 I did pregnancy yoga with my first and I'm signed up for it again. It was fantastic. An hour just to focus on me and the baby. No work. No cleaning. Just us. The breathing and positions helped in labour as well as the ball work. Give it a go.

@curlywurlywooo I had acne and those fruit cravings last time and I've got two girls. Neither of those this time and I've had the blood tests confirming it's a boy so there might be something in it! Had had a lot of nausea though.
@emma1224 I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt.
@OctoberGirl91 have my scan tomorrow too at 9.30. Bricking it. Don't expect to sleep a wink tonight. Hope all goes well!
@Elmamadegatita I'm so sorry. That must be terrifying. I have CVS on Wednesday and terrified. My youngest daughter has a rare life long condition/disability that we're being tested for. I am unsure if I can cope with two in the same boat but we're here now. If you do have difficult news, I have been there. But hoping it will all be fine. Do you know how long you have to wait for results? I have to wait 10 days which feels a very long time. Assuming all goes well at my scan tomorrow.

@EverythingNow thank you ❤️ they didn't say over the phone but I'll be asking on the day. I've read its approx 3 days, which would be Friday.
This waiting is the absolute worst. I've just waved my sister off as she's moving to the other side of the world, she was with me when I got the call.
I just feel awful, like I can't be excited about the pregnancy at all!

For any of those ladies who have had a scan in the last couple of weeks....does anyone else feel a bit lost? Like you're just waiting for something to happen or baby to grow, but nothing seems to be happening? I think I'm growing slowly, but can't tell yet. I haven't got any appointments or anything now til next month, and I feel like although everything was great at the scan, there's nothing I can do or nothing happening. Sorry if this seems like a strange thing to say, I kind of don't how to elaborate it. I just want to know everything is still ok I guess, but got nothing to signify it so far.

It's no doubt some additional worry, but remember that there is still a pretty good chance that all is ok. My cousin was given a 1/5 chance, and they had a perfectly healthy baby girl.

@clairelee17 Yes I feel exactly that! It doesn't seem a strange thing to say! My next midwife appointment is late Feb and next scan mid march. So I'm sort of just floating along not looking or feeling pregnant. I mean I've got a little belly but I had one anyway so I can't tell if it's just paunch or baby. I have to admit I've caved at booked a private gender and reassurance scan for Feb 21st when I'll be 17 and a bit weeks. Not so much for the gender bit, but to make sure everything is still ok!

If it helps I found out one of my oldest friends wife is pregnant too and is 2 weeks ahead of me- she feels exactly the same and has just had the same scan (which is why I booked it).

Also I booked antenatal classes yesterday, to start in May. That makes it feel a bit more real!

Well I have tossed and turned all night and got a nervous belly this morning, going be w long morning till scan at 1am, wish me luck! Really nervous.

Good luck with the scans today! I was starting to feel abit in limbo between the 12 weeks scan and 16 week midwife appointment but my sickness has returned, spent all weekend feeling dreadful, clearly spoke too soon last week!

I feel a little bit in limbo, although it has been nice to be open about it with everyone so I can at least tell about being pregnant now! I undoubtly look pg now too, I have such an obvious bump! Really hoping to start feeling kicks early with this one!!

I’m 14 weeks this week and still haven’t told people, my work dresses and jacket hang loose around my middle so hide my bump. The later I leave it the more I wonder how long I can hide it! @Whoopsies can’t wait to start feeling kicks and movement!

@RaindropsRoses I'm the same. I'll be almost 14 weeks at my 12 week scan. I booked a private scan over a week ago and baby still had a nice strong heartbeat, I'm starting to show and I have horrific nausea still but I'm petrified something will have happened at my scan.
