Hi all

Welcome to the new thread. The list of names is HUGE! It might be a better idea to start a new list after 12 week scans so we have up to date due dates. It also allows those who have bad news but don't want to share it to leave quietly if they so wish.

I don't even have a scan date! Hurry up and end first trimester.

Jelliestogether · 04/02/2019 16:45

@octobergirl91 if your only 11+3 why didnt they book you a repeat scan for 1 week time? As the NT test can be done up til 13+6. My first scan had to be repeated a week later as unable to get measurements at first scan.

OctoberGirl91 · 04/02/2019 17:09

I am not sure I did wonder that myself... should I ring and ask?xx

marajade12 · 04/02/2019 18:15

Hope everyone’s symptoms are starting to subside, most of mine have now apart from the dreaded bloat!

Sorry to all those with nervous waits for more testing. Got my follow up scan on Wednesday. I’m absolutely bricking it. They suspect a condition called Gastroschisis.

MummaGiles · 04/02/2019 19:01

Due date 11/08 - jumped forward by a week! Another one whose bean was being awkward today and couldn’t get the measurements so will be having the quad test in a few weeks.

Cobblestones · 04/02/2019 22:33

@octobergirl that’s a lovely scan pic.

Ladies are you using anything to prevent stretch marks? 2nd time mums (or 3/4/5th) did you use anything previously that you found worked for you? I’m starting to feel a bit itchy now so wondering if now is the time to start using something.

sunshine1987 · 04/02/2019 22:43

@cobblestones I’m using burts bees mama bee butter. I know they’re hereditary so not much you can do but I quite enjoy moisturising my little bump, plus it should make the skin more supple so it doesn’t hurt as much when skin stretches etc x

Jelliestogether · 05/02/2019 06:25

@octobergirl91 personally I would ring up and ask, if not speak to your midwife. There's no harm in asking, plus you'll get to see the baby again!

@marajade12 good luck for your rescan and hope everything goes ok! At least they've spotted it now so you can prepare fully.

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/02/2019 06:52

Dc5 here and the only stretch marks i ever got are on my boobs! I have bought things before to try and prevent but never find the time tbh!

10+4 today
3 days til first scan!

MummaGiles · 05/02/2019 07:22

Oh sorry should have said, due date 11/08, DC2

OctoberGirl91 · 05/02/2019 07:22

Thank you @Cobblestones

Anyone else looking at booking gender scans? I've been looking to book one for 16/17 weeks?xx

QueenofFox · 05/02/2019 07:32

@OctoberGirl91 I know we're having a boy by blood test - might be a cheaper option?

@Elmamadegatita Think your cvs is today. Hope it goes ok.

MummaGiles · 05/02/2019 07:33

Oh sorry should have said, due date 11/08, DC2

rachyrach300 · 05/02/2019 09:39

Hello!

Joining late! Had my scan yesterday 13+1 today with second baby!

Yay!

Due 12th August x

ScotsBaby2 · 05/02/2019 09:41

@OctoberGirl91 does your health board not allow you to find out at the 20 week scan?

How is everyone today?
Who still has 12 week scans to have?

OP posts:
OctoberGirl91 · 05/02/2019 09:46

They do but I am impatient and would like to bridge gap between 12-20 weeks so I'm going book private I think! My hospital don't allow children to scans and my DD who is 6 wants to be with us to find out xx

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/02/2019 11:11

I had a gender scan with dc3 and 4 but trying to wait til 20 week scan this time, keep having to remind myself more important things to spend money on!

OctoberGirl91 · 05/02/2019 11:36

@ScotsBaby2 I've private messaged to be added to Facebook group please xx

Dolleymix · 05/02/2019 12:16

@OctoberGirl91 I have been looking at private gender scans....my health trust doesn't tell you....plus I have two step kids and my DS that would love to be there!x

Cobblestones · 05/02/2019 12:36

Thank you @sunshine1987

ScotsBaby2 · 05/02/2019 13:23

So! Guess who didn't have a CVS done? I got in and the wonderful nurse told me I am too far into the pregnancy for the CVS (which I was so relieved, I was utterly terrified of the increased miscarriage rates) and gave me other options.

Basically, everything was fine apart from my age (38 this week) and that's what's triggered my test.

We opted for the Harmony test, so bloods were taken and sent off this afternoon. I should hear back in a week what the outcome is.

Has anyone else here had the Harmony tests? I understand the costs involved are intimidating but it's non-intrusive which was the big sell for me.

I want to say thank you to everyone who left me a message and warm wishes, you ladies are the loveliest bunch! And good luck to all those roos week getting your scans. We aren't out of the woods yet, but I'm feeling less scared!!
