August 2019 4: All the scans and hopefully the end of nausea

Hi all

Welcome to the new thread. The list of names is HUGE! It might be a better idea to start a new list after 12 week scans so we have up to date due dates. It also allows those who have bad news but don't want to share it to leave quietly if they so wish.

I don't even have a scan date! Hurry up and end first trimester.

@CautiousOptimist that's awful about the aunt! I'm so worried mil will do the same as I've just found out she ignored us saying we wanted to tell dh's brother and went ahead and told him anyway and lied to me about it.
I didn't think I could get angrier.

Runningbutnotscared · 02/02/2019 21:20

Hi there,
I’m a bit late to the thread (I’ve been in denial) but due to increasing fatigue and nausea there is no escaping it. I’m most definitely pregnant.
Numbers 3 & 4, first scan on 14th. Very nervous about it because I’m old this time (38), due date is 21st August.

Hoping some of your excitement rubs off and I make it onto the fb group. I have a feeling I’ll need the support.

CalmerComber · 02/02/2019 21:34

@Runningbutnotscared - 3&4?! I’m so pleased to have a twin buddy!

Congrats and welcome x

Ninunina · 02/02/2019 21:53

Wow! 3 & 4 is pretty cool @Runningbutnotscared ! I love big families! You will never have a dull moment in your house. Any idea if they are fraternal or identical?

Runningbutnotscared · 02/02/2019 22:31

Thanks you guys.
Hope the first trimester stuff is wearing off for you.

I saw on the list that you were expecting twins @CalmerComber, I’m so please to find someone else in the same rapidly increasing boat. Congratulations to you. Are there twins in your family? There are none in mine.

@Ninunina I have two sacs, so non identical. No idea how I’m going to cope, it’s like being a first timer again. Congratulations on your preganacy.

curlywurlywooo · 02/02/2019 23:49

Sorry I keep missing loads on here hahaha I can’t always manage to look between everything and it moves so quick!
Anyone else who’s been suffering acne - I’ve had to move on from sudocrem Sad the acne broke through and was so painful. I asked my midwife about salicylic acid and she directed me to ask a pharmacist which I did and he asked if I had had miscarriages previously, was I on aspirin, did I have x y and z (no to all) and he said then it should be fine. Picked some salicylic acid skin cleanser up for nighttime and some witch hazel for mornings praying it clears it up as the spots are bloody painful now and big and red! X

FraggleRocking · 03/02/2019 06:28

@curlywurlywooo yes! I have had acne since about 5 weeks but as soon as I felt I’d dealt with one angry area, another cropped up. At the start I was trying everything but fatigue and vomiting took over! I have basically given up now, except for drinking even more water. Just hoping it passes!

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/02/2019 07:51

I definitely find getting lots and lots of water in me helps my skin

First scan in 5 days. No twins in family. But i am fucking on my arse all the time with exhaustion. Hopefully just one baby as having number 5 and 6 in one go would be terrifying!

scratchbass · 03/02/2019 09:25

Sorry I've been rubbish at keeping up on here, I'm slightly more active on Facebook but only slightly!

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow so I'll give a due date then @CalmerComber , it's lovely to see all the dates and see that we're not alone!

OctoberGirl91 · 03/02/2019 09:46

Scan tomorrow at 1pm nerves in overload 😬😬xxx

Poppy012 · 03/02/2019 10:13

So excited for you @octobergirl91 😁 xx

OctoberGirl91 · 03/02/2019 11:12

Thanks @Poppy012 going be a long morning tomorrow xx

curlywurlywooo · 03/02/2019 11:13

@FraggleRocking @IVEgottheDECAF how much water do you drink in a day? I’m getting about two litres, at least, have cut out all caffeine too so I’m only on redbush tea and water currently!
Good luck all with scans tomorrow! 😊 I’ve got an appointment to hear the heartbeat next week! Next scan not for a good few week. Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could see them moving all the time as you go about your daily life and not just at appointments 😂 like on an app - think we would all be addicted to watching!

curlywurlywooo · 03/02/2019 12:51

Also I’ve started having cravings - mainly for fruit (mango, pineapple, oranges) And things like granola and cold milk. We have decided we aren’t going to find out what we’re having but apparently these all mean a girl Confused my mums convinced I’m having a boy though because I’ve not had nausea!

Cobblestones · 03/02/2019 12:58

Lovely scan pics and good to read all the positive updates!

I’m feeling a bit rubbish now as 14+2 and the nausea/vomiting still hasn’t gone away 😔 I had two days of respite and then it all came hurling back. Is anyone in the same boat as me? I hope I’m not one of those unlucky ones who throw up through out the 9 months.

Chocolate89 · 03/02/2019 13:47

@curlywurlywoo im the exact same craving fruit like watermelon and pineapple! Didnt know this meant it might be a girl?? I absolutely agree about the app, i got a little of of my last scan last week and baby had the hiccups 😂
Feeling good today, i watch it all the time ❤
14 weeks and almost back up to my pre pregnancy weight 😊😊

emma1224 · 03/02/2019 18:02

Lovely to see scans I haven't caught up with the thread fully yet, had a terrible weekend as my auntie passed away early hours of Saturday morning and we had our friends puppy for the full weekend which was just added stress to everything tbh

Just wondering I'm feeling abit low with everything atm as loosing my nan at the end of the year and my auntie so soon after ontop of having HG and I've been looking into pregnancy yoga to help give me some relaxation and release some stress

Has anyone done this before or currently going to classes? Isit worth me trying? X

MrsRyan15 · 03/02/2019 18:22

@emma1224 so sorry to hear about your nan and aunt and that you are having such a difficult time.

No experience, but I am also looking into pregnancy yoga aswell. A friend who had her first baby in December recommended it, she found it really beneficial.

Sending hugs xx

Bakingabean · 03/02/2019 18:23

@emma1224 I’m sorry to hear about both your man and auntie, you’ve really had a rough few months. I haven’t done pregnancy yoga yet as I’m recovering from a bad ankle injury but I used to do yoga before that and it was so relaxing. For me it was an hour where I had to focus on breathing (and not falling over!) and so I didn’t have a thousand thoughts rushing through my head. I always came out relaxed and refreshed but nicely tired. I’m hoping to give pregnancy yoga a go in a few weeks when I get the all clear.

EverythingNow · 03/02/2019 19:02

@Emma1224 sorry for your losses. I am signed up to start pregnancy yoga next Monday so I will report back!

I've also bought the Positive Birth Company digital pack, even though I've done pregnancy and birth a few times already I just thought I'd like to give hypnobirthing a try!

ABearandABump · 03/02/2019 19:03

@emma1224 so sorry to hear about your losses. I lost my uncle the back end of last month. It's devastating.

I've been feeling dreadful, I thought morning sickness left after 12 weeks? I'm having morning, noon and night nausea at the minute. Doesn't help working full time either. I'm so irritable.

Although, I did think I felt baby take a run and jump at my tummy earlier in the week!

IVEgottheDECAF · 03/02/2019 19:30

Ive also been craving fruit

Trying to remember past cravings

Ds1 tuna and satsumas definitley

Ds2 not sure on cravings but went well off spicy food

Dd cant remember cravings but fatty food made me want to vom

Ds3 cake and sweets Blush

Ninunina · 03/02/2019 20:10

Is all fruit in general meant to linked to girls craving. I'm craving juicy fruit. I've been eating loads of oranges, kiwi, pears and crisp apples.

With DD1 I was craving spicy food.

With DD2 I craved sausages and Spam (don't ask where that craving came from)

I quite like the fresh fruit craving, I hope it lasts.

FraggleRocking · 03/02/2019 20:11

@curlywurlywooo 2 litres a day is probably more than I’m getting if I think about it. Might need to up my hydration game!

Jokie · 03/02/2019 20:19

@avacadooo; I feel your pain with your MIL. With my 1st , my MIL was the same and we kept it very quiet until 12 weeks. I'd go crazy if they told someone when we had said we wanted to keep it quiet.

I've been feeling sick still and the tiredness is getting worse. My DD is sick as well so it's not been the easiest few days. Hope everyone is ok
