Hi all

Welcome to the new thread. The list of names is HUGE! It might be a better idea to start a new list after 12 week scans so we have up to date due dates. It also allows those who have bad news but don't want to share it to leave quietly if they so wish.

I don't even have a scan date! Hurry up and end first trimester.

@ScotsBaby2 thanks got it xx

curlywurlywooo · 27/01/2019 22:24

I’ve locked myself out of my other account somehow so I have had to add an extra o on my name on new account Grin
@milly2000 I don’t have social media either! And I’m 27 😂 Deleted this time last year, was fed up of compulsive scrolling through other people’s crap and all the adverts etc! I find life much better without it, just wish DH would get rid of his Smile
We have only told parents so far. I think I may wait til 20 week scan before telling friends, I’m really happy to be pregnant and I’m so excited but I do quite like it just being our little secret until I get a noticeable bump! Wink

UnicornDust17 · 27/01/2019 22:33

Yes @emma1224! I gave to bend over or crouch a little bit before sneezing or blowing my nose 🙈

UnicornDust17 · 27/01/2019 22:38

Good luck with your scan tomorrow @milly2000 - and anyone else. Fingers crossed for you here 🤞

emma1224 · 27/01/2019 22:47

@UnicornDust17 omg yes I sneezed in the bath and went into panic but it goes instantly
Wonder why lol pregnancy is an amazingly odd experience x

UnicornDust17 · 27/01/2019 22:50

@emma1224 I think it's because you're ligaments loosen up due to the hormones, something like that that. 🤷‍♀️ I can't quite remember!!

clairelee17 · 27/01/2019 23:07

@emma1224 yes! Ouch! I bent over to get clothes out from the bottom of the laundry bucket earlier on and my stomach really ached for a few seconds! Even bending to get up off the couch is getting a bit harder sometimes!

milly2000 · 27/01/2019 23:12

Thanks @UnicornDust17 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Cobblestones · 27/01/2019 23:15

@pinkylady89 does it feel like palpitation? I had that a few times around the 9 week mark then it went away. As long as it isn’t high bp (which is usually accompanied by headaches) it should be ok

Cobblestones · 27/01/2019 23:16

I told very close friends and immediate family members when I started feeling sick and couldn’t make it to any gatherings. To everyone else including other friends I eventually want to share this with, I’m going to try and hold out to 20 weeks..

sacrecoeur0712 · 28/01/2019 06:27

I'm planning on telling our kids after 12 week scan, I'd like to explain to them why mummy's been so useless for the last few weeks and keeps falling asleep on the sofa 😂 I'll tell close friends and family then too (parents and a couple of good friends know already for support). I'd prefer to wait to start telling casual friends and acquaintances but I suspect the kids will blab to anyone listening!!

UnicornDust17 · 28/01/2019 06:54

We're told mil at Xmas and my sister knew from the start of my treatment (6 weeks). We told DS1 over the weekend plus a couple of close friends. I hate social media, so its not going on there and we'll just tell everyone as and when it crops up... 👍👍

Chocolate89 · 28/01/2019 07:10

Scan this am at 0830, can''t wait to see this little one again! This I'd my 4th scan, i think my consultant is even more nervous of misc than i am!
Our close family and friends knew at about 8 weeks. We are just tellng people as we go now, 13 weeks now so happy enough to spill the beans at this stage! Plus our 10yo daughter is soooo excited, i heard her telling our elderly neighbour the other day when she was out on her bike! There are no secrets for her 😂😂

Floriday · 28/01/2019 07:40

I think we’ve decided to tell dd next weekend and she can tell my mum, after that we’ll probably wait a few weeks till I’m 15-16 weeks before I make it common knowledge at work etc.

OctoberGirl91 · 28/01/2019 07:42

Morning Ladies

Catching up on thread been my 1st wedding anniversary this weekend so had some time with DH without 2 DD's which was nice!

Morning sickness is in full throws today - 10 weeks today and 1 week to scan, getting nervous now as I know I'll need another scan for neck measurement as they've gone off date of LMP and not O.

Good luck to anyone due scans this week xxx

EverythingNow · 28/01/2019 08:06

Good luck today @chocolate89

ss3ajb · 28/01/2019 10:28

My scan is on Thursday am counting the hours 🤣 switch between excitement and nervousness to thinking maybe I have imagined it all 😂 good luck to those having them today and this week fingers crossed for wriggley beans 😊

Jokie · 28/01/2019 10:29

Hi everyone,

@chocolate89: good luck today!

I had a bit of a strange morning. Felt relatively OK but have waves of nausea. I'm planning to tell my work today and get everything moving. Has anyone tips for negotiating more time off?

Jelliestogether · 28/01/2019 11:12

So after spending the weekend worrying that the baby will suddenly grow massive in the next 2 week's when I'm rescanned (as was a tiny bit small for the downs and trisomy test) I spent the weekend googling the NIPT which is quite expensive. Finally rung the the ultrasound department and they are seeing me on Friday instead! So relieved! Also scared as I'll have to go on my own as my OH has a course I don't think he can get out of!

UnicornDust17 · 28/01/2019 13:37

Good luck @chocolate89, thinking of you

Astret · 28/01/2019 14:42

Finally got a scan date for next week - it's a busy time! But I hadn't expected to tell friends until after scan and will be seeing them at the weekend. Don't want to expose the secret too early so any suggestions on excuses to use for a) early nights and b) not drinking? Or do I just quietly order tonic water and hope they don't notice the lack of gin in it...?

Kcjoe · 28/01/2019 15:12

Well I went back to hospital for my reassessment today. They still can't find the coil strings! I could have told them that. At least this time the registrar was a lot more helpful. He explained everything to us. I have to go back in 2 weeks for another scan and reassessment. They can try and remove the coil up to 12 weeks. I will be about 11 weeks and a couple of days then. If they can't get it, it has to stay in. Which increases our risk of miscarriage to 50-60% and pre term delivery at about 25-28 weeks 😬 although there have been a lot of successful full term coil pregnancies. So when everyone else's risks go down at 12 weeks, ours go up 😭 second trimester is the riskiest. So it's back to waiting.

We told my partners mum on boxing day as we were supposed to be at hers when we were in hospital the first time. And I told my mum about a week ago. None of our other family know. Our best friends know and I obviously had to tell my work as I was signed off sick with 'pregnancy complications'.

1Bobbinwinder · 28/01/2019 15:24

Scan today. Thought i was 10+3 but been put back to 9+5 noooooooo. Knew I'd ovulated late but still. New EDD 28/08!

Can't believe there is a baby in there...I've no bump at all. However, appetite still dodgy and boobs a good cup size bigger which never happened last time so Im thrilled.

Happy to read about everyone else's scan news and so sorry for the losses. Hope you'll be in the November/december 2019 clubs.

1Bobbinwinder · 28/01/2019 15:29

As for drinking @astret just don't draw attention to it. Antibiotics etc just sounds fishy. Is it a party/pub or a meal? If the former i just ordered a drink had a sip and left it. No one noticed or cared! If a meal I would probably do the same. It's cold and flu season so quite reasonable to say you're feeling rough?

curlywurlywooo · 28/01/2019 15:52

@astret can you volunteer to be designated driver? Perhaps you need to be up early morning after and travelling..family birthday miles away or a work thing? Or pretend you’re still recovering from a bender the previous night and insist on coke! I agree the antibiotics thing seems suspect unless you’re good at acting and can pretend you’ve had a dental infection Grin
