August 2019 4: All the scans and hopefully the end of nausea

Hi all

Welcome to the new thread. The list of names is HUGE! It might be a better idea to start a new list after 12 week scans so we have up to date due dates. It also allows those who have bad news but don't want to share it to leave quietly if they so wish.

I don't even have a scan date! Hurry up and end first trimester.

Aw I'm loving all the scan photos I am so nervous for mine tomorrow I don't know why I've convinced my self something will be wrong! I am 13 weeks and have loads of symptoms still! I hate this anxity fingers crossed it will all be fine!

Jelliestogether · 27/01/2019 10:46

@millie2000 I'm waiting for the results of my scan to come in before we tell anyone, however we now have to wait another 2 weeks before our scan as that was the next one a valuable! It feels so long away and I'll be 14w! I'm getting inpatient...so considering paying for the NIPT but it's almost £400 so not sure...

Jelliestogether · 27/01/2019 10:47

Also won't be announcing it on social media until after 20 week scan. But will tell people in person after the NT results.

avacadooo · 27/01/2019 11:09

I'm really conflicted about telling people, mil is pressuring me to just tell people pre scan and my mum says to put it on Facebook after the scan, I don't know why but I'm uncomfortable telling people about it. I think it's because a girl who was meant to be my best friend told me I got what I wanted and tricked dh into it and that it was a false positive so now I'm scared about what people will say and I don't think it helps I've not enjoyed this one bit because of how ill I've been.

EverythingNow · 27/01/2019 11:21

At the moment I'm not planning to put it on social media at all. I did in second and third (social media not around for first) I have told the people I love and everyone else will find out as I expand or in August.

Schmexy · 27/01/2019 11:41

I've been putting off telling people too, when I have my scan I'll be 13+ 3 and even after that I'm not going to shout about it I think as I've been feeling a bit up and down as my body starts to change. I'm really excited to be pregnant, just finding all the changes and symptoms hard to get my head around so would rather not have to deal with loads of questions! I think it's ok to tell people whenever you are comfortable, it's your pregnancy after all xx

milly2000 · 27/01/2019 12:10

I don't even have any social media (always a shocker when I'm 26 and without it) deleted it all 18 months ago and for me it's been really positive!
I'm going to see how I feel if all is well after the scan tomorrow! Itching to tell my girl friends.

Moncwf · 27/01/2019 12:19

I've told quite a few people already which DH isn't happy about, my parents, brother, sister and her DH, simply because it would have been obvious at Christmas, and my parents in law guessed. I would want their support if anything happened though. Also told some old friends, and one work colleague and my line manager, but again all people I would tell if I had a loss.
Last time I did a few texts after the scan to people I wanted to know, otherwise just left it until it was obvious. There's a couple of people I am friends with who I know are having some fertility issues so think they'd prefer to hear by text then springing it on them in person.
Last time I did a matching bump picture with my sister in the third trimester, and stupidly didn't realise this was a sort of announcement to Facebook friends I hadn't seen. We're actually both pregnant again this time so may do a repeat of that, but again much further along.

emma1224 · 27/01/2019 13:45

I told people little by little before my scan as I have HG and was signed off and looked awful and was in hiding a lot so it was pretty obvious! I announced after my 12 week scan and put it on my social media but everyone is different I wanted to share my news with everyone but my friend who is due soon didn't announce at all and people still don't know until they see her and a large bump lol

I wouldn't be able to hide it now even tho I'm naturally a size 6/8 and lost pounds my stomach hasn't nor has my chest and both seem to balloon lol

Hope everyone is feeling okay today

any upcoming scans xx

PinkLady89x · 27/01/2019 13:55

Has anyone else noticed their heart thumping? I never normally notice my heartbeat but the last few weeks it's been quite quick and noticeable.

RaindropsRoses · 27/01/2019 14:03

Ive told mum, MIL and 3 best friends. Will txt a few people after scan, friends and 2 who are having problems ttc as wouldn't want them to find out face to face and have time to process it. Then will just let it filter out and as I see people, didn't do fb announcement last time and won't this time.

Whoopsies · 27/01/2019 15:46

I've told close family so far and my best friend but no one else as I want ds 5 to be the next person to know. Will tell him after the scan on Thursday and then he will tell every single person he comes into contact with, trust me! 😂

Rachellev · 27/01/2019 15:52

Got weird pains in my stomach don't feel like cramps. I'm 11 +3 anyone else experiencing this. Also nausea gone worse.
Scan tomorrow

emma1224 · 27/01/2019 16:06

@Rachellev what kind of pains x

Rachellev · 27/01/2019 16:23

Can't really explain the pains not sharp pains just mild pains

PinkLady89x · 27/01/2019 16:54

@Rachellev I seem to have some mild pains but usually they come one day and then go for a week and then another random day. I think it could be stretching as the baby gets bigger? I actually have them at the moment so was wondering myself! X

emma1224 · 27/01/2019 17:04

@Rachellev I have dull aches and I read you can have pain sometimes as your body is stretching for your uterus expanding and it can cause discomfort But I'm a google person tho which isn't a good thing 🙈 so call midwife or epu if anything just for peace of mind x
I feel more a dull pain and I get it more when I first sit or first stand up! X

MummaGiles · 27/01/2019 18:53

Hi all, I was in the first thread and have been lurking ever since. Got my scan a week tomorrow. Thought I’d share a story about surfing hormones. Was watching Paddington 2 this afternoon with DS and I absolutely bawled at the ending. I’ve seen in before and I actually started crying when I remembered the ending and then couldn’t stop. DS was so confused!!

abw94 · 27/01/2019 19:35

@Rachellev I had these for the first time on Wednesday. Completely freaked and went to a&e. As long as you have no other symptoms (high temp, bleeding, pain in your shoulder) it's just normal. Obviously if you don't feel its normal go to a&e. It's my first pregnancy so I thought the absolute worst! Plus I'd only had period like cramps from the off set so the shooting/stabbing pains were completely new.
I'm 11+2 so must be the 11 week thing!! X

Rachellev · 27/01/2019 19:39

Thanks all for your advice have a scan tomorrow so hopefully all ok and will ask then

We announced at about 14 weeks last time. I'm not sure this time. Need to speak to OH and see what he thinks. I'm so worried this pregnancy that I am tempted to leave it very late. He might want it earlier though. It'll definitely be after the scan.

ScotsBaby2 · 27/01/2019 21:47

@Rachellev I have pains that if I move a certain way feel like I'm going to pull a muscle. I put these down to stretching pains.
