August 2019 4: All the scans and hopefully the end of nausea

Hi all

Welcome to the new thread. The list of names is HUGE! It might be a better idea to start a new list after 12 week scans so we have up to date due dates. It also allows those who have bad news but don't want to share it to leave quietly if they so wish.

I don't even have a scan date! Hurry up and end first trimester.

I've finally found some energy and scrubbed my house from top to - almost bottom. Got tired and now I think I need a nap before I finish.

@Jokie I swear by the kids little head toothbrushes, those and floss!

@marajade12 I'm currently rocking a pot belly too, with DC it was constantly up and down until I got to around 19 weeks when I 'popped'.

Thanks x

Kariana · 26/01/2019 20:20

@avacadooo just wanted to mention you're allowed to eat sushi so long as it's been frozen. Sushi sold in supermarkets and in Yo Sushi has all previously been frozen so is fine to eat in pregnancy. I ate loads last time!

@marajade12 I was huge last time at this point and am again this time. It went around 16 weeks last time as it was just bloat so I'm hoping it will again as I'm huge already!

Cobblestones · 26/01/2019 23:07

@jokie it is so weird how it varies. I’ve looked around for inspiration. Tried a few things and just stuck to what hasn’t made me throw up. And now six weeks in I’m so bored of the same meals not to mention very bloated and gassy!

I’ve been feeling some faint flutters which I really want to believe is the baby kicking.. but it seems so similar to gas I could be completely wrong!

Has anyone noticed a slight upward movement of the uterus? Around the 12/13 week mark?

Ninunina · 27/01/2019 07:05

@Cobblestones I've been noticing some slight "popping" like movement. I thought it was too soon (13 weeks) but I could feel it during my scan too and baby was super active. I remember feeling DD2 at about 13 weeks too. DD1 was at 15 weeks.

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/01/2019 08:10

emma1224 agree on apples and juice! Currently munching sliced granny smith!

Floriday · 27/01/2019 08:32

Is any one else ridiculously thirsty?? I’m going through orange juice and ice lollies like there’s no tomorrow. My sickness is almost nothing in the morning now but kicks in around 3-4pm and gets worse as the evening goes on. Improvement on being all day every day though.

Jokie · 27/01/2019 08:35

@Floriday: im similar some days. I still get it occasionally but others it's only in the afternoon when I start to feel rough. I go through stages of the day when I'm ok and others where I can down a pint of water without thinking

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/01/2019 08:38

I havent felt sick this morning!

9+2

PinkLady89x · 27/01/2019 08:45

@Floriday that's exactly what mine is like. I tend to be fine in the morning now but around 4ish it gets unbearable and then all evening after that. That's why I'm going to bed so early 😂. When is the nausea meant to ease off a bit? I'm only 9+4 😫

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/01/2019 08:54

pinklady i read after 9/10 weeks

Floriday · 27/01/2019 09:05

@pinklady89x i’m 12+2 and still struggling with 50% of the day. Saw a definite improvement from about 10-11weeks.

Whoopsies · 27/01/2019 09:18

I'm 12+3 today and definitely noticed an improvement over the last week. In fact, if I dare say it, I didn't feel sick at al yesterday!!! Week 9 was the absolute worst for me!

milly2000 · 27/01/2019 09:48

I've been lucky I'm 12 weeks today and sickness has pretty much gone. I'm exhausted most the time though and seem to be getting regular headaches.

My 12 week scan is tomorrow! Nervous and excited. I just wondered when everyone is thinking of announcing there pregnancy? I'm going to have the downs screening so thinking I should wait until I get those results back. What's everyone else doing?

EverythingNow · 27/01/2019 09:49

@ninunina and @cobblestones I definitely felt dd2 move at 11wks. And she was very active at the scan, dd1 was about 16w and dd3 because I had an anterior placenta was past 18w. I feel sure I've felt flutterings this time like popping candy going off. Could be wind/wishful thinking too I guess.

When i had my scan last week I asked where the placenta was and the sonographer said posterior, all my dds were back to back and babies often postion themselves facing the placenta so I'm wondering if this time I might get one that faces the right way!

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/01/2019 09:53

Dc1 felt at 18 weeks
Dc2 felt at 16 weeks (i think)
Dc3 felt at 18 weeks (anterior placenta)
Dc4 felt i think just before 12 weeks

Dc4 was back to back with posterior placenta
Dc3 who had anterior placenta came out the right way and was easiest birth by MILES

EverythingNow · 27/01/2019 09:55

@milly2000, we told close friends (I have a few) after our 8wk scan. I've told colleagues/anyone else this week after my 12wk. The Nuchal Fold measurement was fine, though obv have to wait for the blood tests to come back and im sure my age/bmi will push the risk up.

If the worst happens I guess I'd rather people know, when I had a loss in April a colleague came into my room saying I love this video and put it on and it was that bloke from Mcfly and his wife doing a pregnancy time lapse video!!

It's very personal though, I'm a talker and I found miscarriage very lonely.

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/01/2019 09:57

Waiting for scan to announce so 12 days ....

EverythingNow · 27/01/2019 09:58

Argh @ivegotthedecaf don't say that! I was holding out for one that settles the optimal way 😂

That said 1&2 we're prob posterior and b2b labours were much easier with 2&3 because they turned early on. Also it's a path well travelled now 😂

EverythingNow · 27/01/2019 10:00

And dd3 only took 2hrs so maybe it's the anterior placenta factor!

Floriday · 27/01/2019 10:00

@milly2000 we were waiting until the screening came back just to be on the safe side, had scan on Tuesday and the letter arrived yesterday, 1:50,000 for all 3 trisomies so we’re going to tell DD5 and let her tell people probably some time this week Grin

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/01/2019 10:00

I have wondered if it is possible my 2nd was b2b and just no one told me.....it was very hard work that one, and once i had fourth i began to think this!

This time i am gonna be doing all the positions to discourage b2b. Didnt know dc4 was b2b until it was too late

milly2000 · 27/01/2019 10:01

@EverythingNow we've told parents and my boss knows but I just feel ready to tell friends now. It's getting a bit harder hide, as there talking about booking girls trips away in August! Which I'm usually always up for.

I wasn't sure if they told you the measurements looked fine in the scan or not so that's good to hear!

IVEgottheDECAF · 27/01/2019 10:01

Everything alot of people say dc3 flies out!
