Hi all, Hi Theladyevenstar

I've hijacked this thread also as I'm 22 weeks tommorow (due 5th nov) but 20 week scan said i was at least 2 weeks later than that so are probably somewhere in oct but i have a growth scan in 3 ish weeks so should get things sorted by then!

I'm attempting our first nappy free night tonight with our 3 year old which I have to say he seems really up for!

We are going to make a plan tonight of what needs doing in the house, what is urgent/can wait ect and then to decide how we're going to do it all.
Not sure when we're going to do the baby's room (boy btw -Henry William) as all you lovely ladies have different opinions on when to do it.

J20 -still in awe of your decorating skills dh wonders if you'd like to our house?

Inzi; Glad you got a good compromise sorted ...for me, as self employed I could take as much time as I like...(well as much as Stat mat will cover) but I'd lose all my clients and have to build up a new client base from scratch (which having moved the business 25 miles 3 yrs ago and lost 95% of my clients in doing so)...I now know to my cost can take 2 years to recoup! So it's work until I "drop" and then back to work asap after!...but I only work 3-4 hours over the afternoon/early evening so I shouldnt complain.

LadyE; I'm sorry you are feeling so low...I think the "men are from mars women are from venus" thing is too true for words at times; they just dont think like us and especially when we are at our most vulnerable (like now when we are riddled with preggie hormones)they either cant understand how much thoughtlessness can hurt or do realise it and tell blatant lies save the earache! Have a good yell, (rant on here all you like!) get it out of your system and when you are calm enough, try to explain how his actions make you feel at the moment... Hope you feel better about it all soon.

Muppet; how very frustrating your DS is being (sympathetic smiley)....I think you are right to bite the bullet and stop nappies now..a friend refused to let her son wear pants at all while she was in the latter stages of potty training (he knew what was wanted but was waiting until the very last second before telling her, so having accidents before she could get his pants down)without the "security" of underwear, it worked a treat and he was 100% in 48 hours...good luck I hope it works as quickly for you.

lisad123 · 01/07/2007 16:28

oh doodle sorry to hear that. I hope your ok this time and not worrying too much, which is easy to say but not to do. My sick pay goes to half pay on 22nd Aug but my boss wont let me use my holiday while I am still unfit for work, so will have to struggle for a month as Mat pay wont kick in till middle of sept! My boss is a bitch.
I too have a stressful job but have to say im bored at home and not being able to get out.
Im hoping my pregancy goes a little easier this time too, although bad, was not as bad as yours.

What morgage company are you with, is it standard pratice for them or just coz their being nice?

Muppet, good luck with nappys tonight, I think i was lucky with dd as it seemed easy. I have told dh next weekend is set to sort out stuff in loft for little one and sort out shed too. Poor man I just have to stand by and give instructions as not allowed to do much.

Lisa

doodle, its normal to feel worried about the same time. My problems started about 29 weeks last time and like you am started to worry about reaching that time. I'll have to look into that morgage thing, be good as down to Smp after 6 weeks. I have always worked and been busy. Oh well MN can save me
What job do you do?

Welcome Evenstar - sorry you are having a crap time with your DP but I'll echo what someone else said (can't remember who, sorry) men just DO NOT THINK sometimes, and most of the time they don't even realise that what they have done is upsetting. I actually recommend reading 'Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars' it puts a lot of things into perspective

Well we have had a nice day, our angel of a babysitter took ds out for the day and we went shopping to kit DH out with some new clothes. Got him a fab suit which he looks great in and some new work shirts and ties Nothing for me though no maternity shops where we were but then again I have spent enough on clothes just lately, and DH only shops about once a year

welcome ladye - sorry you are having a crap time and hope you can sort things out. As has already been said feel free to rant as much as you like on here!

Inzi my sensor mat monitor is by tommee tippee. It was a godsend and I would highly recommend it! Not sure I would recommend getting it second hand though - not something you want to break and it has a year guarantee. But maybe I'm overcautious. Can tell you loads more info about it if you like but perhaps best to CAT me as most people won't be interested! Plus ds now screeching so better so be a mummy for a while!

just a quickie! good luck with your nappy free night muppett! dont be tempted to go back to them if it all goes horribly wrong!!! stick with it and in a few days he will be FINE!!!

lisad123 · 01/07/2007 17:41

for those that are measuring ahead of date a question please?
My little one is still able to turn fully all the way round which makes me think i am just carrying loads of water rather than whale baby. Can anyone elses baby still do this, or do you just feel kicks and punches.
Thnaks

Mines still turning around but then again I am measuring spot on for my dates, so pointless replying to you really isn't it?

muppetgirl · 01/07/2007 18:13

Hi Lisa - I can feel punching and kicking all over the place! Not sure if that helps...
I actually had my arm resting on my tummy whilst typing and it was raised a little through a kick -that was lovely!

Also ds1 is very attatched to 'Hengry' as he calls him and like to talk to him and point out toys that are for 'babies, not big boys like me!'

Should I let him get this envolved?

j20baby · 01/07/2007 18:41

hi all

Inzi- same pram as me but mines a different colour.

Don?t like the ambey nest, looks like a stork holding it, doesn?t look safe to me.

Muppetgirl-good luck with the pooing, maybe try and put him on the loo when you know he?ll need to go, give him a book to read, and of course-don?t forget the poo dance tbh I can?t really remember the potty training very well, but dd is 7 now.

Thelady-hi and welcome, men just don?t think half the time-hope you feel better soon and he is suitably ashamed for upsetting you.

i went out last night and had a glass of wine, and ended up coming home about 11.30.

well, what a day i've had! i had planned to get up and paint the ceiling, which is a bloody nightmare because i had to lean over the bannister to do it, you lot would have been horrified as it wasn't very safe, but noone else will do it

anyway i rung my mum this morning to see if she'd help me and she was crying her eyes out as her ex and his druggie mate had attacked her when she'd been round to his house to try and get some of her belongings and they then rung the police and said she'd attacked them, so i had to go and try and sort that out, i rung the police when i got to her house as she has been punched in the face, but as far as i know they haven't been yet, i ended up leaving her after a couple of hours as she refused to come to my house and i couldn't stay there all day, so i came home and painted, don't think me heartless, but this isn't the first time its happened and she pisses me off so much, she just wont help herself, but thats another story.

picked dd up early from her dads today and she's already asleep on the couch, didn't go to sleep till gone 2am apparantly her dad's an effing twunt!

sorry for rant!

j20baby · 01/07/2007 18:44

oh yes sorry, mrsfish, i do fit my own carpets too, not always brilliantly, but i gave up on relying on people a long time ago.
its my stairs i'm going to be doing, so you'll have to wish me luck on tuesday

MrsFish · 01/07/2007 18:45

I admire you greatly if you can lay carpet on stairs

j20baby · 01/07/2007 18:47

well.......i'll try, had a few gaps last time, but that was my living room carpet that i had to cut up to fit on the stairs, and this one is bran new, my bargain at £10 from the charity shop

lisad123 · 01/07/2007 18:48

Hi Muppet My dd is the same, pointing out toys, asking how much longer telling everyone shes gonna be a big sister. I think its better this way. She does not like the baby name we chose though but am not changing it for a 4 year old

j20 i had to do the same to paint my hallway. Your mum sounds like a draining kinda person, and your dd father sounds like he needs some advise on proper bedtimes for kids. Hope your day gets better, maybe another glass of wine at bed, or maybe better stickto tea, or the preggy police might come and get you

Lisa
