MrsFish · 30/06/2007 18:45

J20 - I know how you feel, when we moved into our house I painted every room, I swore I was never going to do it again Never would attempt to lay carpets though are you really doing that yourself?

muppetgirl · 30/06/2007 18:52

Goog god!!
Advice needed
my ds 3.3 is fantastic at wees and does them all by himself but the bl**dy poos are doing my head in?!?!?!?!

He was quitr good at pooing on the toilet and then most classes at nursery to where (i have since found out but wasn't initially told) that the ch (all 3) go to the toilet by themselves unless they ask for help!!! (Out of classroom over corridor and toilets in a block not in shouting distance.

Since then he has hardly done any poos on the toilet....

We have tried

  1. Nicely nicely 2.Harry the frog toilet seat
  2. Bribary
  3. Sricker charts (He couldn;t give a stuff!)
  4. Good mum/ bad dad good dad/bad mum
  5. Going balistic (when he announced he had pooed his pants and then burts out laughing...)

He can speak the speak ('Big boys poo on the toilet, babies poo in their nappies....')

But WILL NOT POO ON THE TOILET CONSISTENTLY BUT SAVES IT FOR HIS NAPPY. [ANGRY]

We've been at this since summer last year.

alicet · 30/06/2007 19:28

Sorry muppet can't help with toilet training advice as ds only 17 months... Living in denial of having to go through that particular joy!

muppetgirl · 30/06/2007 19:31

have just started new behaviour/development thread as this is really beginning to cause a problem in our house.

I went to make his milkshake after reading his story, when i went back upstairs he said he's pooed his nappy (almost in a giggly way)

He must have known he neded a poo but just saved it.

ARghghghhgh

Hi inzi -what's an amby nest?

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 30/06/2007 20:04

Have just found it on the web, anone else want to see [http://www.amby.co.uk/ look here]

OP posts:
lisad123 · 30/06/2007 20:05

Never even knew what an amby nest was, just had to look it up. I would be too worried dd would try and take baby out of that!
I used a crib in our bedroom and moses basket downstairs. 2 reasons, one i wanted baby to get used to being daytime, noisey light basket downstairs and dark crib quiet upstairs at night. I had a section too and struggled to carry baby upstairs so many times
I moved dd inot a cot at 6 months in her own room.
Do what you want to do, what ever is best for you

muppetgirl · 30/06/2007 20:07

is the amby nest okay for lo's back as it is not entirely flat?

OP posts:
MrsFish · 30/06/2007 20:14

I don't like the look of the amby nest, would go for a cot/cotbed every time. Plus what do you do when lo is 6 months plus, my ds would have grown out of it by then, or rolled out, too young to put in a bed so wouldn't you have to still get a cot anyway?

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 20:17

Lots of gumf on it [[http://www.babysleepshop.com/acatalog/Amby_Natures_Nest_Baby_Hammock.html here]

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 20:17

here

muppetgirl · 30/06/2007 20:19

We're going for a crib this time as ds grew out of his moses basket after about 9 weeks. We used the carrycot upstairs because we could rock it (why the hell did we carry it upstairs downstairs every bl**dy night?)

So are getting rocking crib and then using ds1's old cot.
I am passionate about keeping them flat though....(Dh says obsessive!)

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 30/06/2007 20:23

....hmmmm looked at link but we would have had a problem with ds1 -he only slept on his front (and still does)

I know, I know, the hv hated me but it really was like flicking a switch.

Back - wah, wah,wah
Front- zzzzzzzzzz

We lived in fear until he could roll over

I really can't see one lasting for 12 months, my neice could walk at 11 months she would have been out of it in no time.

lisad123 · 30/06/2007 20:45

I was ok dd didnt walk till 2 and was tiny so things lasted longer in my house. im just wondering at what point i should start getting things out of loft, wardrobe and everywhere else

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! another 3 months of this is sooo annoying.

No way am I having another kid after this one.

greedygreedyguzzler · 30/06/2007 20:46

muppetgirl - is your ds nearly dry at night time? is this the only time he wears a nappy? and does he poo at the same time every day?

my ds didnt like pooing on the toilet for the first week when we were potty training him and i realised it was cos he was used to standing up and doing poos rather than sitting down with his bumhole all exposed!! we ended up watching him till we knew he was desperate to go and then marching him off to the toilet and he stood on the seat and kind of squatted! he really reisted and i felt really mean, but just held him there and tried to talk about other thigns or tell him a story until he had done it a few times and then he didnt mind at all after that!

good luck! there is nothing worse than pooey pants!!! i potty trained my dd a few months ago and had a few pairs of pooey pants then!! (not me, her!!)
