Yes J20 Chill out and slow down! Agree with Floria that a bit of the woe is me poor pregnant lady stuff with the delivery men usually works wonders! I had the asda online shopping delivery guy offering to put all my stuff away last time!!!

muppetgirl · 05/07/2007 21:03

I actually had someone let me jump the toilet queue in a shop!!!

Felt like royalty

OP posts:
j20baby · 05/07/2007 21:19

oo i couldn't do that!! hate asking for help, maybe would jump in front of a toilet queue though

i was hoping someone would come get my old couch tonight, put it on freecycle-but the only person to reply can't pick it up till sun

however, i have bagged myself a glass topped scroll legged dining table-yippee, going to pick it up tommorrow sometime.

right, really am going for a bath now, just been cleaning up.

{{wanders of muttering 'wish i had a babylis bath thing;!}}

PolarMummy · 05/07/2007 21:47

hello everyone, haven't had a chance to catch up on all your posts yet but thank you very much for all you words of support and reassurance.

I went out to the doctors and they did a scan for me and I was able to see the LO's heartbeat so I am very comforted by that, mind you I wasn't that overly reassured by the doctor, it was a locum and he did say it was taking a long time to find the heartbeat but not to panic yet, I actually found it before him and whenever he was finishing up he said that he was reassured he had seen the heartbeat and then said, you saw it too didn't you as if to get confirmation from me that everything was OK but he did also say that the placenta was at the front and that could be why I am not feeling much movement.

So thank you once again for all your kind comments really mean a lot to me as I don't think DH grasps how worrying it is or really how things can still go wrong.

muppetgirl · 05/07/2007 22:05

Big hugs polarmummy

j20baby · 05/07/2007 22:26

so glad your ok polar apparantly my placenta is/was at the front, thats why they kept missing the heartbeat.

well i'm going to try and get to sleep, but waiting for an email about someone collecting my couch off frreecycle, knew i shouldn't have brought laptop to bed with me!

p.s i accidently bought myself 2 boxes off after eight mints, bogof at morrisons, although they're meant to be good for iron levels....oh i'll just have 1 more then

FloriaTosca · 05/07/2007 22:38

So very very glad that all is ok Polar what a relief, even if you did have to teach the locum his job!!!

PolarMummy · 05/07/2007 22:43

Don't get me wrong FT he was lovely said I was completely right to come out and see them and never to be worried just come out. I think its just because a GP really needs to be Jack of all trades so I guess we can't expect them to be as confident or as good as a sonographer or consultant

j20baby · 05/07/2007 22:50

{{sticks tongue ou at thelady}}

hey guys have a look at this for me and see what you think, dosen't matter if you don't have anything to say.

TheLadyEvenstar · 06/07/2007 08:10

MrsFish · 06/07/2007 08:17

Morning everyone )

Muppetgirl - here is the topic we are on this week puddings

We usually have till sunday evening to make something, photograph and it and upload to picturerail thn an appointed judge, judges them, all in good fun and the topic is a bit of a laugh all week. We have started doing it anonymously too.

We are the MNWI group

J20 - hope you get sorted with everything soon so you can start to RELAX!

PolarMummy - Glad everything is ok with you and lo

FloriaTosca · 06/07/2007 08:56

J20 left a message on your thread..hope it helps a little.

Spa baths! hmmmmm! we went round to our friends (the couple who are due on the 17th)the other day and both of them and their 9yr old daughter were in their spa/hot tub out on the deck, he was halfway down a bottle of red and they were playing I-spy! I was (and still am) SOOOOO envious . I think that one is now high on the list of luxuries we will save for once we have this house in order (sadly new patio doors/ central heating/ new bathrooms etc oh, and the small matter of the baby have higher priority ..oh well...one day!)

Talking fo envy....Polar..I hadnt quite cottoned on (blame baby brain)I wish my GP had a scan facility! How wonderful! I have to go to the hospital 25 miles away...and even in the emergency unit they wont scan you at weekends or bank holidays if there isnt sonographer cover! And this is the one that they want to make the premier gynae and maternity unit in the area!!!!!(at the expense of shutting down 3 excellent less central (but more accessible)maternity/neonatal units!!!) sorry I'll get off my soap box.

Mrs Fish...I'm off to see your MNWI thread now..mouth watering in anticipation.

Oh and whoever mentioned weight...I lost 4 st 7 lb, 7 yrs ago with slimmimg world and have done the weigh in for my consultant ever since;...Not wanting to miss out on the social side of it, I'm still doing the weigh in, though "offcially" on maternity leave, and so get to see how much I've gained every week! And it is 18lb so far!!!!! (27 weeks today)

MrsFish · 06/07/2007 09:27

FT - 10lb less than me

Its these MNWI tasks, I have to eat what I make So far we have had Victoria Sponge Cake, Cupcakes, Afternoon Tea for one and this week its Puddings

Kittiwake · 06/07/2007 09:40

Oooh sudden urge to eat cake I'm going to check out your MNWI thread Mrs Fish think I might have ago at baking something myself today.

No idea how much I have put on weight wise but i don't have a vey big bump at all! midwife re-assured me last week that baby is the right size so I am trying not to worry about it

Good news Polar my little one seems to have on and off days activeness wise it's so hard not to fret if you don't feel anything for a while especially for us first timers I think.

Floria that spa sounds heavenly, I will have to do with my aquanatal class which I went to last night. Th epool is a hydrotherapy pool and is really warm like a bath a the end they give us floats, dim th elight s and play some relaxing music as we all float around for a while like hippo's Bliss

MrsFish · 06/07/2007 09:52

More the merrier kittiwake

ejt1764 · 06/07/2007 10:11

sorry ... apologising in advance for a completely me, me, me post....

Am a bit and extremely worried this morning. My dad had a heart attack just after New Year, and was recovering really well, until yesterday, when he took my sister to see her doctor, had a 'funny turn' (my mum's term!), passed out, and lost so much control of his bodily functions that he wet himself. He was blue-lighted down to the local hospital, and has been taken in to be assessed. The docs are saying they don't think it's his heart again - but until he had an absolutely massive heart attack in A&E in January, they were saying it wasn't his heart then either!
Mum has phoned me this morning just to let me know that there's no news - but I'm really worried.
If you're the praying kind, please pray for him.

It's also p1ssing me off that my sister has managed to turn it around so that it's all about her - she's beating herself up about the fact that dad had taken her to the doctor, and blaming herself for bringing it on - honestly - my feeliing there is that is was probably the best place, other than A&E itself, for it to have happened!
Why does she always have to be such a drama queen?

Going to go back and wait for more news ... see you later.

Kittiwake · 06/07/2007 10:16

God ejt that sounds really scary hope you get some good news soon

PolarMummy · 06/07/2007 10:25

Wee question for you girls, I have two sisters and DH has two sisters. One of my sisters is called Sara, however I have been thinking of the name Zara if we have a little girl. Do you think this is too close to Sara, would others be offended?

MrsFish · 06/07/2007 10:29

I don't think it is too close PM, if anything they should be flattered not offended

Ejt - Hope your father is ok, {hugs}

PolarMummy · 06/07/2007 10:32

ejt thinking of you, I hope it does just turn out to be a funny turn. I will say a pray for him and for you too. Take care (and by the way I agree the fact he was in the doctors was probably a really good place for him to be just ignore your sister!)
