good afternoon ladies

glad all the scares have been just that - Floria, prolly tmi but I had a similar panic when I wiped and saw red. Turned out to be ripped pile

Pfff at back to front maternity trousers

Got to go to work meeting in a bit. Spose I better change out of the jogging bottoms!

Woooozle100 · 05/07/2007 12:50

Best of luck Polarmummy. I would do waht you are doing. Sure all is well but peace of mind will be worth it

muppetgirl · 05/07/2007 12:55

Good luck Polar Mummy, you'll get the peace of mind you need when you hear lo's heartbeat

Apricott · 05/07/2007 13:50

Thinking of you PolarMummy.

MrsFish · 05/07/2007 13:54

Good Luck PolarMummy - hope everything is ok

Mumpbump · 05/07/2007 13:58

Polarmummy - when I didn't have any movement in pg with ds, they suggested I drink some chilled/iced water to see if it woke him up a bit. You could try that, but if it doesn't work, definitely head off to get it checked out. You cannot put a value on peace of mind, apart from anything else. Hope it is just that the lo is having a couple of quiet days or starting to run out of room! Let us know how you get on!

Right - I have to stop buying stuff on mn. Can't justify buying new stuff as we're meant to be saving for my maternity leave, plus I have my Dad's 60th, dh's 40th and now my sister's wedding in the next couple of months. It's just that I would so much rather give my cash to an individual, rather than a massive company, and get a discount at the same time... Must exercise some more self-control, but keep thinking that ds will need more toys for when he is at home with me!

muppetgirl · 05/07/2007 14:04

mb -i'm like that with ebay!!

Just made pizza dough, waiting for it to rise and then going to attempt to make bread!!

OP posts:
Mumpbump · 05/07/2007 14:11

Muppet - you sound like a domestic goddess!!

muppetgirl · 05/07/2007 14:22

Not really, but gave up my ou course as was getting too much -3 days a week - with headaches and tiredness, so I feel I have to justify my sahm status!!

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 05/07/2007 14:22

...I haven't made bread since I was at school!!

MB, quick take a look at your local freecycle group you can get some greattttttt things on there lol I have almost got all I need in way of big things for baby. and all for free. Just picked up a little tykes travel cot in A1 condition. then Dh can't moan about you spending although he may moan about driving round to collect the stuff lol

muppetgirl · 05/07/2007 14:26

les -sorry I'm being a bit thick -what is freescycle?

OP posts:
ejt1764 · 05/07/2007 14:32

freecycle is fab! The idea is to recycle things that would otherwise end up in landfill - when we first moved into this house, we ripped out the fireplace, and freecycled the marble fire surround as otherwise it would have just gone in a skip ... their uk home page is here - it's great!

Which reminds me, I must put my cream rug on there have been meaning to for weeks ...

I didn't hear the women's hour on alcohol - but it sounds like it was interesting!

polarmummy - I hope all's ok with you. Thinking of you!

Well, the doula has just gone: a very interesting discussion, and very reassuring... it's amazing how much confidence I feel like I have knowing that she's around!

muppetgirl · 05/07/2007 14:36

Ejt -glad abouyt the doula, was thinking along those lines myself but never knew anyone who'd used one. I take it you'd recommend it...

are looking at the freecycle site now.

OP posts:
ejt1764 · 05/07/2007 14:41

absolutely!

The doula UK website is a good place to start looking www.doula.org.uk/ - don't be put off by doulas who are apparently trainee - many of the very experienced ones never get around to 'qualifying' as it's quite a faff!

The one I'm using is a trainee ...

Hi all

Did you miss me? nah didnt think so.
Well this am when walkig up stairs, half sleepy, sudden rush of liquid, hmmm me thinks better ring midwife. Thye told me to stay at home with pad, and see how it goes, i mention previous water loss about this time with dd, and hmmm get told to come in. Which is where i have been for the last 3 hours!!
Hooked up to montior, with LO heart rate going some speed, nice lady doc measures me, measuring right for weeks (but measuring 4 weeks ahead until now , loads of movements.
I have been spent home awaiting possible water infection results and scan as already planned on weds. God i hate how much babies make you worry when they are not even here yet LOL.
Few concerns about LO heart rate (between 160-207!!) but all seems fine

Im off to sleep now, and for those of you that are having first babies, rememebr to always take a book and food when you go, trust me its not changed

Have to say it sounds a good idea. A postnatal one would be great for me esp as dh is worried about him going back to work with my pnd history. This could be a source of support....

Thanks for that

FloriaTosca · 05/07/2007 15:05

OMG Lisa! I had something similar a fortnight ago and J20 had the same thing earlier this week, it turned out to be nothing to worry about for either of us and I dearly hope it is the same for you. Fingers crossed that everything is just fine an LOs heart rate is just responding to your stress.

lisad123 · 05/07/2007 15:05

I have a friend who is a training dola if anyone needs one in herts
Lisa

ejt1764 · 05/07/2007 15:06

muppetgirl - go for it!

lisa - - you poor thing- glad all's ok though! Last time I ended up in hospital I grabbed the book I was reading at the time - but it was a bit too weighty ... when they decided to transfer me to the ward, dh was despatched to get trashy magazines!
Glad all's ok though!

Mumpbump · 05/07/2007 15:07

Lisa - hope everything is okay with you and lo...

lisad123 · 05/07/2007 15:08

they said babys heart rate could be because mine is so quick, mine currently running between 110-120 when resting. Im happy with answers so far and know they are keeping eye on me, plus DH worries enough for us both
Lisa

Hope polars ok

lisad123 · 05/07/2007 15:09

I spent so much time there last time, i know to take a book. Have had an overnight bag packed for me from last admittion at 16 weeks, i knew there was a chance of another complex pregnancy but have sworn this is the last!!!
