Sitting in hospital waiting for a CT scan now. Chest x-ray is clear (good) and blood test has come back positive (inconclusive). The next step was either doppler on my legs to look for dvt next week and then if that didn't find anything a CT or just go straight for the CT today. I decided the latter, whilst riskier in the long run, is the better option for now as we could be back in this same position in a few days time if the doppler came back negative.

The CT gives an increased risk of breast cancer for me in the future (3-4% the doctor said) but hopefully I can negate in a way by breastfeeding. I have already done 970 ish days, so hopefully I can do similar again!

@Wineandchoccy great news!

@HidCat I hope the tightenings have settled for you.

@babycatcher411 I think you've summed it up well. Overwhelmed excited and scared is what I'm feeling and haven't went through quite the ordeal you have. Maybe a week or 2 will help you feel more comfortable about the home birth and if not it sounds like you'd be well looked after at hospital.

@Squirtlesmumagain just when you were getting on well with growth scans now this. Really hope it settles for you.

@BadBadBeans were you on ferrous fumarate? How long did it take for you to feel better. It's nearly 2 weeks on them and I am still so drained!

Welcome to the group @Hollyberryboo!!

@Angelmiracle thank you, they come and go but I think some of it is normal at this point. I get periods of several painful ones at short intervals but they don't last too long. Just hoping they don't get any more painful 😬

toastfiend · 26/01/2019 18:44

My waters started trickling in the early hours of this morning so I'm in hospital now for 24hrs to see if anything happens spontaneously, otherwise I'll be induced tomorrow. Managed to get DH home from exercise, which is a relief. Just feels like the most stressful week ever! Don't feel remotely prepared and feeling a bit overwhelmed, but never mind. I'm worried about the baby as I'm only 35 weeks, haven't done any handover for work yet at all and am exhausted already coming off the back of the week I've just had. This definitely wasn't what I imagined!

Daisy2990 · 26/01/2019 18:54

Thanks @Angelmiracle

Good luck @toastfiend hope all is well

We sold our house in September and still have not exchanged. Desperate to exchange now in case I am admitted or they decide to deliver early. The people we are buying from, their solicitors and their estate agent could not give a toss. They delayed 5 weeks at the start and are now dragging out the ending saying they aren't ready.

I really don't know what I'll do if I go into labour early or develop pre eclampsia before the move. It's turning into a complete nightmare.

Wineandchoccy · 26/01/2019 19:44

@toastfiend lots of love and good luck you will be ok, don’t worry about work just concentrate on trying to get some rest before baby arrives.

Wineandchoccy · 26/01/2019 19:46

@Daisy2990 ugh that sounds stressful when we bought this house 7 years ago our estate agent said it was the longest sale he had ever dealt with 😩 I am never moving again it’s a horrible time hope you are in very soon.

Wineandchoccy · 26/01/2019 19:47

@SquirtlesMumAgain oh blimey hope you have some answers soon you don’t need any stress before number 2 arrives

Wineandchoccy · 26/01/2019 19:49

I have been on the hospital tour today even though it’s the same hospital as last time I know I am having to go straight to the birth suite. It felt very real seeing the rooms Shock It was so uncomfortabley hot in there as well

SquirtlesMumAgain · 26/01/2019 19:52

Good luck @toastfiend. Hope everything goes smoothly for you :)

Angelmiracle · 26/01/2019 20:52

@toastfiend oh my goodness! What a surprise for you. I was talking to an old school friend who had her twin boys at 30 weeks and they're 5 now doing fab. You are almost at term I'm sure baby will be ok! Good luck ☘

Thanks everyone for your kind responses, obviously I’m very glad everything’s back on track. Hopefully that’s the end of the rollercoaster ride for us, instead of just a lull. Either way, what will be will be and we’ll deal with it as it comes.

We’ve been decorating the nursery today’s we bought some wallpaper from M&P without realising it’s sticky back paper, oh my word, it’s been a dream to put up!!!

@toastfiend- I can understand the worry with your waters having gone at this point, but most 35 weekers are absolutely fine (are you 35 weeks exactly?), especially if there’s no other underlying issues at this point. Our cut off for automatic admission to special care is less than 34 weeks, which means theoretically, 2 days of good feeding and you could be home with bambino by the middle of the week.
Have you been given steroids? Hope all is well.

@SquirtlesMumAgain have you had the CT? How’re you doing?

HidCat · 26/01/2019 21:29

@toastfiend I hope all goes well and glad your OH managed to get back!

@Daisy2990 so frustrating!

toastfiend · 26/01/2019 21:30

Thanks all.

@babycatcher411 thank you. No steroids, they've said I don't need them apparently, although it was discussed earlier. I'm bang on 35 weeks today. Waters broke around 3am, I'm getting tightenings now according to the monitor, but I can't really feel them, bar one bigger one when I went for a walk just now. They will get a consultant to discuss next steps with me tomorrow apparently but induction seems to be the course of action they think most likely.

SquirtlesMumAgain · 26/01/2019 22:00

Thanks did asking @babycatcher411 - CT was clear of clots so we are no further on go what is causing the issues. Suggestion is that giving birth may be the only thing to stop it!

Fingers crossed you get a plan tomorrow @toastfiend. Hope you can rest tonight

Jadeelx · 26/01/2019 22:18

@SquirtlesMumAgain just catching up on the last few messages, wanted to say I had the exact same breathing issue last week. Was send for all the scans and even started on heparin injections in the mean time but no blood clot, just very low iron which I already knew about. They doubled my iron dosage and I’m starting to feel better now, have you had yours checked?

YummyMummy2019 · 27/01/2019 00:15

@Harley8888 hi, I'm also just joining Mumsnet and due 28th in West Sussex area!

How are you getting on? Do you mind if I ask where you are?

Hi to the rest of the lovely mums here! Hoping to be part of the group as I could probably do with the support and advice :)

YummyMummy2019 · 27/01/2019 00:25

@ballanj hi! Just wanted to join the little Surrey mums group πŸ‘‹

I'm not too far from Gatwick either near to East Grinstead village, only moved from London middle of last year so don't know anyone else having a baby near me! I'm due 28th March how about you? X

Harley8888 · 27/01/2019 00:33

@squirtlesmumagain I had a breathing issue and was admitted for 2 nights in my 2nd trimester. Was just extremely out of breath, racing pulse and couldn't even get through a sentence. Felt so much pressure and tightness in my chest like I had tonnes of weight on it. They suspected a blood clot. Got a CT scan done, ECG and oxygen saturation checked and everything was normal.. turns out it was iron!! I had low haemoglobin and a low MCV. Feel so much better since they gave me a higher dose of iron. Have they checked you for that?

@yummymummy2019 Hiya! Lovely to meet another West Sussex mummy. I'm from Crawley and Will be delivering in east Surrey hosp. How has your pregnancy been? Is this your first?

Angelmiracle · 27/01/2019 01:11

Welcome @YummyMummy2019 I'm due 29th!

BadBadBeans · 27/01/2019 01:51

My gosh, so much happening on here!

@SquirtlesMumAgain I'm glad to hear all was clear, although you must be frustrated not to have found a cause. Will they induce you early if this continues?

@toastfiend Oh my goodness! Best of luck with everything. Try and get some sleep if you can tonight.

@Angelmiracle yes I am on ferrous fumerate - I think I have been on it for five or six weeks now. Started feeling distinctly better after two or three. My levels were something like 94 or 98 when I started and were up to something like 106 or 110 after a couple of weeks. She hasn't taken my bloods since though.

I'm away for a girls' weekend with friends, one of whom is a GP. She felt my bump for fun - baby is still breech! This weekend away was the last date in my calendar for a significant event before the baby - I imagine once I get home the weeks are suddenly going to disappear. Got to get organised!

SquirtlesMumAgain · 27/01/2019 09:33

Thanks for all your kind words. My b12 + folate is on the 3rd retest as it keeps coming back borderline, but they didn't mention doing anything about it to help.
Am back at the midwife on Tuesday so will ask then and see if she thinks I need to do anything.

At least it's the weekend and DH is brilliant at understanding I have to rest!

YummyMummy2019 · 27/01/2019 09:46

@Harley8888
No our little boy has just turned 9 but it's been so long I feel like it is my first! So much has changed I guess.

Pregnancy has been much better after the hyperemesis got under control, I don't think I was able to get out of bed for best part of 2 months it was so bad! X

@Angelmiracle
Thanks Angelcare. I just hope he comes before Mother's Day so he's here to celebrate with us x
